Just wondering.

OP posts:
JemimaPuddleCat · 26/03/2020 21:39

Not in my house, as it's just me and the kids.

My mum works in a GP surgery, and she has a couple of risky underlying conditions.
My dad is retired thankfully.

One of my brothers works in oil. No idea if they are still working.

BadEyeBri · 26/03/2020 21:42

Me. Vet. Just had the most horrendous day of abusive clients. Fabulous. Just want to cry now.

Alyic · 26/03/2020 21:42

DH supplies lorry tyres, he's been rushed off his feet all week. Many more supermarket deliveries getting stock in, he just drops them off and others fit them.

Albern · 26/03/2020 21:45

Support worker for adults with PMLD.

SpokeTooSoon · 26/03/2020 21:45

Yes. Journalist. Can’t do it from home. Most can but certain senior staff required in the office. Driving in and out as roads so quiet so not too bad.

Thisismyhappyface · 26/03/2020 21:45

Yep, me. NHS sonographer, business as usual in work...

Heismyopendoor · 26/03/2020 21:47

Dh is, he works in construction and maintenance. They do a lot of work in police stations, fire stations, schools etc. I wish he could stay home.

raffaroo · 26/03/2020 21:50

Yep, dh is a self employed joiner working on sites in Manchester.

VerbenaGirl · 26/03/2020 21:53

DH in pharmaceutical production - asthma medication (so vital) - will be back in when our 14 days self-isolation is up next Friday (as long as he and DD1 remain symptom free).

Rosieposy4 · 26/03/2020 21:54

Three of us, one teacher ( in at school looking after vulnerable and key worker kids, whilst setting work remotely for the rest) 2x doctors, one of whom would easily fit into the vulnerable category but is ingrained into caring for their patients, and lots of other staff off.

Guiltypleasures001 · 26/03/2020 21:54

Dh is and has been doing emergency planning for his NHS trust he's knackered

DS works for a supermarket

So that's all good then ( im quietly holding my panic in check)

Lulu1919 · 26/03/2020 21:54

I'm a TA we been in all week looking after Key Worker children

Isolatedandbored · 26/03/2020 21:55

Yes. He works at a dog shelter. He can’t feed the dogs from home.

Countrygirl38 · 26/03/2020 21:58

Yes two if us. I am a support worker and my husband works in agriculture

Yubaba · 26/03/2020 22:01

I work in a supermarket pharmacy, we have 5 of our 9 staff off at the moment so the remaining 4 staff are working all the shifts with some locum pharmacist cover. It’s been horrific this last 2 weeks.
DH is a bank manager, he’s WFH this week but he will have to go into the office next week to submit the payroll and access the secure server that he can’t at home, he is asthmatic and is currently on steroids because his asthma is flared up so I’m worried sick about him especially as he will need to catch the train to work.

Pickles89 · 26/03/2020 22:02

My sister is a vet and working every day without a break at the moment. Most of her colleagues are self isolating so even though her practice is strictly emergencies only she's still run off her feet.

holyshitdude · 26/03/2020 22:03

Dh is a hgv driver, he does mostly supermarket deliveries, he was delivering toilet paper direct from the factory last week.

HauntedHats · 26/03/2020 22:07

Dh is a project worker. There is no need for him to go in everyday to sit in an office with 2 other people doing fuck all but he insist on going and putting me at risk (type 1 diabetic and expendable 😥) seriously thinking of telling him to fuck off! 😠

Yellowshirt · 26/03/2020 22:12

I'm a truck driver. 50 % of places won't let us use the toilet now and then other places allow you to use a toilet but won't provide soap for hand washing.

PinkBuffalo · 26/03/2020 22:21

I still go to work everyday, but I by my own no family and not on vulnerable list for covid 19
I work for police. All our office and most of the non front line staff bar a couple of us working from home. The couple of us in sit at opposite ends of a large office.
We are keeping the office running. Without us going in, no post would get scanned to whoever it needs to go to. No printing would get done updating victims of crime on their cases, including court cases we have to inform people. No statements would be taken if not printed out and sent. No legal documents sent to people who have committed offences and /or need to be in court. We are basically admin for the whole large office and kept very busy throughout the day.
They do need a couple of people in a day, but have allowed me to remain as one one of them, as due to disability I have massively struggled with a lot of change in short space of time, and cannot actually work from home cos my brain struggling with it all. Doing the"admin" tasks and keeping the office running is the only thing keeping me in a job at the moment as my loss of communication skills the last couple of weeks has been immense and not know what occupational health going to advise and I not know what to do myself. So a good routine at work in a very quiet environment now is helping me, but also helping the force for the time being. I will still be going in next week too to do this, so at least I know what going on.

AvocadoPrime · 26/03/2020 22:30

DP is a playground inspector. Apparently he has to work even though the playgrounds are closed!

Bluebellbike · 26/03/2020 22:39

I live alone. I work 2 sleep shifts per week as a support worker. On annual leave this week. Back to work next week.

Iwannatellyouastory · 26/03/2020 22:52

Yes me, i work for local council in child and family services, many colleagues are wfh but my role requires me to be in the office. I actually prefer to be out of the house working, rather than wfh, it’s better for my MH.

buttcrackmcheese · 26/03/2020 22:57

Phlebotomist in a hospital 😭

8thplace · 26/03/2020 22:58

I'm a nurse. Parter mental health worker. Both out working and exhausted... Clear roads and spookily quiet out.
