DH- Army. Although they try to do as much as possible from home.

HopeYouStepOnALego · 26/03/2020 11:25

DD19 is off this week but currently works in a large chain supermarket. As she's on the shop floor (not tills) she has no protection, just encouraged to 'wash her hands frequently'. I'm terrified she'll catch CV from touching the shelves/products or from shoppers who don't keep their distance.

coronade · 26/03/2020 11:26

Son is a delivery driver for Ocardo. Delivering in London today 😬

IDontDrinkTea · 26/03/2020 11:27

Midwife here. Working harder than ever as my workload has increased and there’s a lot of staff self isolating. But am happy to work all the hours I can to make sure we’re still providing a good service

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 26/03/2020 11:28

We both were until Monday when I was sent home with a temperature so we're in isolation. NHS mental health nurse and health care assistant so obviously will be in. Thankfully I rearranged all out shifts so ds doesnt need to use then key worker nursery provision until middle of may if it's still going on.

cocomelon23 · 26/03/2020 11:28

Dp is going in every as is dss. They both work for the council. Dss is filling up water tanks to water plants and dp is the operational manager. They are classed as essential workers apparently.

ComeOnEileen11 · 26/03/2020 11:28

DH is in aerospace and unable to work from home. They're taking all the precautions they can in the circumstances.

backaftera2yearbreak · 26/03/2020 11:29

My partners a security guard. He’s in a shift pattern but has lots of overtime just now.

user1485155939 · 26/03/2020 11:30

My husband works in food production and has been off for two weeks self isolating as our children were poorly... I'm dreading Monday morning when he goes back to work 😔

Scruffyoak · 26/03/2020 11:30

Yes. Careworker

foreverhungry2409 · 26/03/2020 11:31

BIL works for DPD. Says lots of unnecessary packages from online retailers are coming through at this time.. not quite sure if I have an opinion about that..

Msloverlover · 26/03/2020 11:31

Yes partner is an engineer who repairs access controls, cctv etc primarily for nhs trusts. Very busy right now.

InvisibleToEveryone · 26/03/2020 11:31

DH works for a supermarket, his department was closed so he's now on shop floor...

SeaOtterFluff · 26/03/2020 11:37

I work in food supply chain, working at home for the majority of the week but still have to go in for some parts of the job that have to be done in situ. Got my key worker letter yesterday. DH works in construction and is still in (hospital contract) for now.

fairydustandpixies · 26/03/2020 11:37

Yep, DS who works for an engineering firm.

ArtisanPopcorn · 26/03/2020 11:42

Yes DH in construction, sometimes works on utilities, roads, rail, etc.

Ginkypig · 26/03/2020 11:43

Yep cleaner/janitor in a school that is open for the children of essential or key worker (I'm not sure which phrase to use)

The hours have been changed though so go in once the children have been collected and doing about 3ish hours then locking up as it's only the area that has been used that needs done. The rest of the school is deliberately not being used so as to reduce both viral movement but to keep the time at work as low as possible.

Cordial11 · 26/03/2020 11:44

DP is an engineer for oil and gas, loads of overtime they are snowed under

Coronackered · 26/03/2020 11:47

Yes just me, working in the dental emergency hub, so stressed 😭

Greedycushionhoarder2 · 26/03/2020 11:49

Yes me, I'm a support worker, we're very short staffed so working extra shifts, I'm exhausted, my mum's in hospital, wishing I could just go to sleep till it's all over.

ReceiptsAreSweet · 26/03/2020 11:50

Just me, police staff

ScorpionQueen · 26/03/2020 11:51

Yes, teacher, train driver and DD works in a food shop. We've offered to cover her expenses so she doesn't have to, she's still in education and lives at home. She wants to do her bit.

Pinkflipflop85 · 26/03/2020 11:53

Dh working for royal mail. Working an obscene amount of overtime.

Missyelliottsaysso · 26/03/2020 11:53

Yep...retail. Government now decided that DIY stores non essential, so no more customers coughing over me but still have to go in with the other staff to put stock out and clean!

30not13 · 26/03/2020 11:54

Yes. Agricultural support. Working very hard. Just him left to cover a massive area (n.scotland)
