Delay in today's numbers

TheReelSlimShady · 25/03/2020 20:00

Unless I'm being really stupid, it doesn't look like the numbers have been updated for today, it still says 24th March

www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

Not seen any reasons as to why they are delayed?

He's just using that figure because it's all we've got. Today's figures have not been released yet.

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 20:42

Uk was 87 deaths yesterday, if what people are posting is right, it means it was 41 today.

Frownette · 25/03/2020 20:43

28?

PrettyLittleLiar20 · 25/03/2020 20:43

Nah I do think it’s right.

QuentinWinters · 25/03/2020 20:43

I don't believe those numbers and the official stats not yet out blatantly placemarking to stop refreshing worldometers

RainbowPenguins · 25/03/2020 20:44

I don't think that sounds right, I know it can fluctuate slightly but 50% less than yesterday is a huge fluctuation.

Cary2012 · 25/03/2020 20:44

BBC news now says 28 England today

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 25/03/2020 20:44

It's not right. The figures have not been released yet.

PrettyLittleLiar20 · 25/03/2020 20:45

Surely if they’re not updating them yet it would still say the same as yesterday?

loobyloo1234 · 25/03/2020 20:46

NHS England havent released their figures yet. Anything else surely is speculation at this stage

I am terrified that they’re keeping it back because the number is so high

Lockheart · 25/03/2020 20:46

It's almost certainly an admin error or delay. Someone's lost some paperwork or one trust hasn't sent the figures in or someone's double counted somewhere and now they've had to go back and re-collect the numbers from everyone.

Unless there's been a sudden spike to thousands of deaths a day (which would be extremely difficult to cover up in this day and age in any case) I really don't think the government are trying to hide the numbers. This is not North Korea.

They've had days where the figures haven't updated on time before. I'm sure they'll emerge at some point.

Itwasntme1 · 25/03/2020 20:46

This conversation is becoming very confused😳. Worrying times, but maybe we should wait until all the figures have been published.

Cary2012 · 25/03/2020 20:46

Sky News saying the same as BBC, breaking news.

Peapod29 · 25/03/2020 20:46

I don’t think England’s have been released yet.

ShellsAndSunrises · 25/03/2020 20:47

I think they are right...

PHE haven't updated yet.

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 20:48

There is nothing on the bbc news app.

PrettyLittleLiar20 · 25/03/2020 20:48

So why would it say England have had a further 28 deaths? At what time of the day did they add the extra 28.

Miriel · 25/03/2020 20:48

It doesn't sound right at all. I wish it were, but it's very unlikely.

If there aren't any further updates I'd be worried about the accuracy of the reported data going forward. Is there any way to see stats for other recorded causes of death - like pneumonia?

ShellsAndSunrises · 25/03/2020 20:48

PA, Sky and BBC are all reporting the 28 figure as breaking news, as are The Scum. It does appear to have been released, just weirdly without much fanfare...

loobyloo1234 · 25/03/2020 20:48

Sorry, Sky News also confirmed 28 people in England. That seems very low?

MummyPop00 · 25/03/2020 20:48

28? At this stage I’ll take that.

Sympathies to the bereaved Sad

alloutoffucks · 25/03/2020 20:49

There were 422 deaths yesterday. There are another 29 from Scotland and N Ireland. That alone takes us to 451 plus Englands.

PrettyLittleLiar20 · 25/03/2020 20:49

I think it’s defiantly right at this stage of the day. To be honest when we wake up tomorrow that number of 28 could well go up to 40 something but right now that’s probably what it’s at. The day isn’t over yet.

xsquared · 25/03/2020 20:49

Is anyone else suspicious of Iran's figures? The graphs for the total cases and total deaths seem to be very linear after the start of March. Most countries seem to follow an exponential growth.
