Delay in today's numbers

TheReelSlimShady · 25/03/2020 20:00

Unless I'm being really stupid, it doesn't look like the numbers have been updated for today, it still says 24th March

www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

Not seen any reasons as to why they are delayed?

Scottish Gov's ones at 2pm were about 20 minutes late. Give them a few minutes.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/03/2020 20:03

I wonder if someone key has passed as part of that figure.

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 25/03/2020 20:05

I've had the news on half the day waiting to see todays figures. It's never been this late before.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/03/2020 20:05

Worldometer doesn't have a figure for 25th March for UK.

chocoholico · 25/03/2020 20:06

worldometer also shows 'only' 187 (we had about 1.5k yesterday).

I think they either still scumble the numbers together, the numbers are dire or we ran out of testing kits. I cannot imagine (as much as I would wish) that these figures on the worldometer are right.

ShellsAndSunrises · 25/03/2020 20:07

Sky seems to have figures and says the dashboard will be updated “later”:

Conny848 · 25/03/2020 20:08

I was just wondering the same thing. Worldometer has 187 new cases filor UK, but that doesn't include England. Worldometer usually puts them on around 5ish.

ShellsAndSunrises · 25/03/2020 20:08

Oh, re-reading that it just says it’ll be updated later on Wednesday; the figure is for Tuesday. Apologies!

defthand · 25/03/2020 20:08

Only Wales, Scotland and NI have released their numbers today. Still waiting on England...

Sparklfairy · 25/03/2020 20:08

@ShellsAndSunrises those figures don't include England yet

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 25/03/2020 20:08

@LalalalalaLlama Worldometer has not updated figures for the UK today because they don't have them, as they haven't been released.

PerpetualCircle · 25/03/2020 20:09

I think it means that they must be really bad .

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 20:10

Very weird they have not been released. It can’t be that hard?

Frownette · 25/03/2020 20:10

I was just looking for them, glad I checked this thread

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/03/2020 20:11

I think it means that they must be really bad

Or freakishly low and they don't want people refusing to stay home after them.

ChipotleBlessing · 25/03/2020 20:12

Chances are it’s purely a reporting issue. It was much easier when it was just a few trusts reporting numbers but they’re now collating them from many different trusts. If there are IT problems in a few areas it could delay it all.

defthand · 25/03/2020 20:13

The Worldometers site just has Wales and NI cases, I think? 150 cases in Wales today, 37 in NI. They have added the Scottish deaths but not the new cases (+135).

So without England we are already up to +322.

Sexnotgender · 25/03/2020 20:13

Was wondering what was going.

RainbowPenguins · 25/03/2020 20:14

They have never been this late before. I don't know if it's concerning, or they just haven't been signed off yet, maybe if there is a late meeting going on (which would also be concerning!)

chocoholico · 25/03/2020 20:14

Or freakishly low

looking how the numbers went up in the last days in the UK and everywhere in Europe, I cannot imagine that to be the case...

hopefully just a reporting issue.

Innitogether · 25/03/2020 20:14

I’ve been waiting since 5’ish for the England figures too. Maybe late because the stats have changed to include young people without underlying conditions and they don’t know how to report that without panicking people? Although we already know this is happening now.

Sexnotgender · 25/03/2020 20:15

Or freakishly low

I’d be surprised, given the increase in cases.

chocoholico · 25/03/2020 20:16

Maybe late because the stats have changed to include young people without underlying conditions

in what way have stats changed? You either have it or not. can you explain? thanks

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 25/03/2020 20:17

Judging by my work today

They're going to be very high. Unless we are a massive hotspot outside of London.
