Delay in today's numbers

TheReelSlimShady · 25/03/2020 20:00

Unless I'm being really stupid, it doesn't look like the numbers have been updated for today, it still says 24th March

www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

Not seen any reasons as to why they are delayed?

I've been check every half hour..
Nothing! Somethings up

Eggcited · 25/03/2020 20:50

It does appear to have been released, just weirdly without much fanfare...

I thought everyone found out at the same time?

Sparklfairy · 25/03/2020 20:50

If there aren't any further updates I'd be worried about the accuracy of the reported data going forward. Is there any way to see stats for other recorded causes of death - like pneumonia?

This has crossed my mind too. It really wouldn't surprise me if there's some 'creative accounting' going on with the figures behind the scenes.

Cary2012 · 25/03/2020 20:50

All I can say is it is breaking news on Sky and BBC. Today's figures are 28 more in England. Watch it and see what you think?

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 25/03/2020 20:50

I'm pretty certain that the 28 are Scotland, Wales and the deputy diplomat who died in Hungry. PHE has definitely not updated for 25th March and that's where the data comes from.

H1978 · 25/03/2020 20:50

BBC confirmed at 28 deaths

JemimaPuddleCat · 25/03/2020 20:50

@nhsengland haven't tweeted in hours.

Itwasntme1 · 25/03/2020 20:51

People are confusing England and UK. Wait for the total UK figure if you are comparing on worldometer.

Eggcited · 25/03/2020 20:51

PrettyLittleLiar20

I thought the figures were only accurate up to 9am on the day of release?

gingerbread88 · 25/03/2020 20:51

So we are waiting for PHE to confirm the amount of new cases in the last 24 hours?
On Worldometer we are only seeing the + increase in cases for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales?
No figure for England as of yet?

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 20:51

28 would be very positive if correct.

With the 13 for Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland it would be 41 today v 87 yesterday.

H1978 · 25/03/2020 20:51

It’s breaking news on bbc website

loobyloo1234 · 25/03/2020 20:52

NHS England have definitely confirmed 28. There are 13 on top of that from Scotland, Wales and NI

ShellsAndSunrises · 25/03/2020 20:53

What happened to the 21 year old that the BBC was saying had died of it with no underlying conditions, then?

Delay in today's numbers
JemimaPuddleCat · 25/03/2020 20:53

@loobyloo1234

Where have they confirmed that?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/03/2020 20:53

The Guardians has 465 - updated eight minutes ago.

Angryrant55 · 25/03/2020 20:53

Sky News Breaking -'NHS England says a further 28 people have died from COVID-19 in England bringing the total number of deaths in the UK to 465.'

defthand · 25/03/2020 20:53

The death number is a big drop from yesterday. Odd and out of proportion with Wales and Scotland (particularly given London is the epicenter).

RainbowPenguins · 25/03/2020 20:53

I'm pretty certain that the 28 are Scotland, Wales and the deputy diplomat who died in Hungry. PHE has definitely not updated for 25th March and that's where the data comes from.

Wouldn't the diplomat be recorded in Hungary's figures?

H1978 · 25/03/2020 20:53

Just hoping it doesn’t mean we’ll have a huge number tomorrow if there’s an increase in serious cases today Sad

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 25/03/2020 20:53

Until it's released on Gov.UK it's not released. I've got Sky News on, they're not saying anything about the new daily figures??

WhatAboutMeeee · 25/03/2020 20:53

@ShellsAndSunrises I think the 21 year old died a couple of days ago

Yup. It seems it’s correct, this from the bbc news app.
