@GypsyWanderer we all do it. I just remind myself that in reality I won’t get the answers I want anywhere. What’s going to happen and for how long is out of my hands and I can search the internet for every hour I’m awake, but it won’t change anything.

One day at a time xx

foxessocks · 01/04/2020 19:08

Such a good point asgoodas !

GypsyWanderer · 01/04/2020 19:09

There is a quote I’m trying to say when I’m worried. It’s something like ‘relax, everything is out of control’.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 01/04/2020 19:43

At the moment I am only going into "I'm watching" to find the threads I am interested in, with occasional forays into places like "Pedants' corner" for amusement. That way I don't have to look at any of the coronavirus threads except this one.

Noooblerooble · 01/04/2020 19:52

Roast chicken and the crispiest roast potatoes here.

I had a good day. Did some good exercise indoors then had my walk out. I got some work done and had a skype with a friend. It all felt nourishing. The days are going by quicker here which feels nice.

Roussette · 01/04/2020 20:31

Looking forward to an online quiz with a lot of other families shortly. Last one was hilarious!

gingerbreadslice · 01/04/2020 21:17

I'm not sure if anyone's seen it but I saw on a thread on reddit earlier that the reproductive number for this virus is now below 1 so they think it's around 0.32 or 0.62. So therefor it should burn out as it won't be able to spread as much I'm not sure I'm explaining it right or correctly I'll try find it and screen shot it here. Though that was great news!

gingerbreadslice · 01/04/2020 21:18

Here it is Smile

Sorry meant to type "they think it could be below 1". I hope it is Smile

M0reGinPlease · 01/04/2020 21:24

That's great news about the infection rate.

@Noooblerooble what's your roast potato secret? I've really lost my mojo with them lately.

CommanderShepard · 01/04/2020 21:51

Hi everyone!

Work was fine today, phew. Went to (attempt to) get bread on way home though and that upset me a bit as it's the first time I've been into a shop since self-isolation and it was one-in-one-out and just a bit scary, tbh. But I smiled at the chap on the door and said I hoped he was doing OK, and he visibly cheered and so I felt good to have made someone happy.

Had a really good shower when I got home and then had a lovely cuddle with the DDs. DH cooked pasta and homemade pesto for tea which feels really extravagant these days!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 01/04/2020 22:00

I have been immeasurably cheered by this from Private Eye

www.private-eye.co.uk/news

It doesn't seem particularly cheerful at first, but stay with it: you will come across such gems as
"The hand-washing campaign at least has been a roaring success. Early figures suggest it may have delayed the surge of Covid-19, and is likely to have reduced the incidence of seasonal influenza, food poisoning, hepatitis A, threadworm and pubic hair in Caesar salad."

IdrisElbasLeftTesticle · 01/04/2020 22:05

That’s a relief about the pubes in salad anyway AskingQuestions Grin

I just keep repeating to myself that this will end. It will. The next few weeks are going to be grim, and then it will be a bit less grim, and then a bit less than that, and then eventually it will end.

Callimanco · 01/04/2020 22:19

Evening all.
I was told about this site today. It is very reassuring and so positive and calm. They have a daily calendar with actions if you are interested

I’m sorry, but I just clicked onto I’m on page and this was the top line. I’m now going to have to go back and read what in Gaia’s name that’s about! 🤢

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 01/04/2020 22:21

Oh dear Gaia! I’ve now read it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Callimanco · 01/04/2020 22:21

If anyone likes journalling, a woman recently released her former Kickstarter project free to download, these are anti anxiety daily journals that the founder has released for free. She wants them used as much as possible during this crisis. There's an adult/teen and a child version.
Might be helpful for someone.

Noooblerooble · 01/04/2020 22:24

moreginplease really bashing them about before they get roasted so there are lots of edges and rough bits which go crispy. And really hot fat to cook them in. Plus some garlic and rosemary ideally.

Alsohuman · 01/04/2020 22:51

I’m afraid it’s not my house @DaffodilThatch, I wish it was, I can only dream of Danish chic! I’ll get some Jaffa cakes tomorrow and email them to you!

I’ve been instructed to buy two big fancy Easter eggs tomorrow to cheer us up a bit. If they last until Easter I’ll be stunned. The bloke’s losing weight and I’ll be the size of a house soon.

Jenasaurus · 02/04/2020 02:05

How refreshing, what a lovely thread among all the gloom and doom, havent read all of it yet but I intend to.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 02/04/2020 02:11

You’re very welcome. I’m away to read all the stuff I’ve missed, now.

Bunnyflop · 02/04/2020 06:38

Very positive news about the reproductive numbers being down!

A bit of good news here, I just managed to book 2 Sainsbury’s slots.

Plus semi good news, I’ve decided to use all this down time to get myself off the last few cocodamol tablets I’m on. Dr put me on the highest dose for fibromyalgia pain 5 years ago and they don’t bloody work but every time I try to ditch the last few tablets i weaned myself down to I get woken up with awful restless leg pains. I keep bottling it. Seeing as this is enforced staying at home time and I don’t have to get up in a rush or anything right now I’m going to ditch them over the next few days. Wish me luck people!

Millie2013 · 02/04/2020 07:06

Good luck, Bunny 🌸
