@Bloodybackpain I loved Cheer! Think I’ll have to watch it again, going to have plenty of time on my hands!

On a positive note, we signed up for Disney+ and that kicks off tomorrow.

Mynxie · 23/03/2020 21:09

Another big thank you from me too

This thread is the only one I read and I find it so comforting. I often share the links to my friends and family and think it helps them as well.

As I wrote to my daughter tonight, every day is one day less of this strange time and one day closer to the biggest hug she can imagine!

RobinHobb · 23/03/2020 21:13

I hope this is positive.

I have very brittle asthma, have had countless admissions to ICU and am long term steroids for control.

I'm in a high risk group, so we kept dd1 (4) back from school early. DH is wfh from a couple of weeks ago, but dd came home with a dry cough, but seems 100% fine, running around and so on.

I got the cough for two weeks, self isolated, turned to productive cough, chest pain, breathlessness and on Sunday morning a high fever. I had had a head ache all day, but it was our wedding anniversary the night before and we had some wine and a nice meal so I chalked it up to that but by the afternoon I started my rescue pack #2 and home nebuliser. At this point I felt like shit, aches and pains and the lot but if the breathlessness hadn't been spiralling out of control, it would have been unpleasant but manageable.

So we called 111, they were a bit rubbish and didn't call back for 4-5 hours. Called again as breathlessness getting quite bad.

They sent an ambulance in 18 minutes. The two paramedics were lovely, wonderful, helpful, and so brave.

They took me off to a special CV a&e unit set up. It had curtains and segregation and controlled entry points with gloves and aprons being changed.

The nursing staff triaged me and doctors saw me within minutes. The entire staff was amazing. Xrays and blood tests done within the hour. Nebulisers and drugs started also.
By 2am I was confirmed with double pneumonia ie in both lungs and admitted to the CV acute ward where I am right now.

They took a swab to test for CV. The consultant this morning said I had all the classic signs of CV including decreased lymphocytes, but my chest X-ray didn't show the classic pattern, so we just had to wait and see. Maybe it was bacterial? Or another viral not CV?

I'm feeling so much better now. I'm on oxygen and loads of drugs, but had a shower on my own and eating well and except for being quite tired feeling well.

If this is CV the positives I want people to take away are:

The staff in the NHS especially nurses are heroes. If there is anything I could do for them when I'm well I'd do it in a heartbeat. They do a great job and will take care of you.

My lungs are fairly fuct: if I can get through this comparatively easy (I've had many many worse admissions) then this is doable especially for many of you that don't have underlying conditions. A bit miserable but not too bad

And lastly, please say a good wish and prayer for me. They said the swab results would be back by the evening... im waiting :-)

I'm waiting :-)

thereplycamefromanchorage · 23/03/2020 22:19

Thanks for new thread. Checking in.

Noooblerooble · 23/03/2020 22:26

Get well soon!

Very relieved about lockdown. Two weeks down the line it will be having an impact. We just have to hang on in there

Siameasy · 23/03/2020 23:10

Checking in
Also feel relieved now that stricter measures are being put in

GuyFawkesDay · 23/03/2020 23:15

Relieved...but a bit disappointed.

It'll be ok. I'm just sad.

Siameasy · 23/03/2020 23:19

We can still go out thank goodness
I’m hoping this will mean it is over quicker

magimedi · 23/03/2020 23:29

Thank you, Spudlet for getting thread 4 going.

Robin -get well soon.

LayLady - hope your DS gets well asap 7remember that there are still nasty colds/flu going around as well as the dreaded virus.

DianneWhatcock · 23/03/2020 23:29

@RobinHobb get well soon 💐 x

HonestlyItsFine · 23/03/2020 23:32

I'm also relieved. It should make a drastic difference. If even 30% of people tried to socially distance this past week, it may have started to make a difference already.

HonestlyItsFine · 23/03/2020 23:34

RobinHobb feel better soon.

StCharlotte · 23/03/2020 23:48

Wishing RobinHobb a speedy recovery and thanks Spudlet for the new thread.

First full day of wfh for 12 weeks and I really liked it! It's not ideal for my role and I will be straight back in the office asap but I carried on with my usual morning routine, wore work clothes etc (I confess I did wear slippers!). Was in touch with colleagues and clients on the phone so not lonely and had lunch in the garden.

"Helpful kittens" had to be shut away and took the opportunity to have sex Shock Not great as they're siblings . They're supposed to be getting neutered on Friday. Paws crossed it can go ahead still.

HonestlyItsFine · 23/03/2020 23:59

I'm feeling a lot calmer since an initial freak out at Boris' announcement. In 2-3 weeks we'll hopefully be over the first surge. It will be hard, but we'll get there.

gingerbreadslice · 24/03/2020 00:22

@StCharlotte oh god we had inbred kittens it started of we had the mum, she met a nice male tom they had a kitten, said kitten slept with its own dad and got pregnant so we had the grandson who then grew up and kept trying to shag his own nan and mumShock balls had to come off and he sadly died last year but I'm sure as a result of interbreeding it made him the way he was.
He used to cry to have the stair gate opened whilst the other cats used to climb over it, and he used to sit there dribbling and purring as soon as you sat down. I really miss him his name was Tony.

RobinHobb · 24/03/2020 01:09

Thanks for the good wishes everyone
Test came back negative: garden variety pneumonia!!

Bloodybackpain · 24/03/2020 03:12

@RobinHobb hurray for normal pneumonia! (That seems very odd to say though ...)
@turnandfacethenamechange oh no where are you?

Pinkarsedfly · 24/03/2020 04:07
