We aren't going to lockdown tonight.

Stop scaremongering.

Maybe at the end of the week or next week. I reckon 10 days. But not tonight.

Even still, you can still go to the supermarket, pharmacy and walk the dog.

Stop scaremongering!!!! You're sending people's anxiety through the roof!

@BuyingaHome

How do you know we won't lock down tonight?

Why is locking down scary when it's the safest measure we could take?

Why is it any less scaremongery to say (as you have) that we'd won't lock down tonight but we will by Friday?

BlueEyedPersephone · 23/03/2020 19:46

Omg if we don't,we should... ffs it should have happened a week ago, i want my family to live through this and if ppl don't stop being selfish c**ts we won't .

Tonyaster · 23/03/2020 19:48

Lockdown will make no difference to me,.and indeed shouldn't make much difference to anyone who has been following the social distancing rules. Can't come soon enough imo. Hope the army enforce it too

Ozziewozzie · 23/03/2020 19:49

It’s because of people like you, it’s actially spreading. If we all just stayed in now this would be over far more quickly!!! Obviously. But no, you’d rather go out now and stay in for far longer in a few days time. It makes perfect sense Confused.
Do you need a few more people to die before you are satisfied????

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 23/03/2020 19:49

You are responsible for your own anxiety. If posts on the net are stressing you out, then turn it off and walk away. Stop trying to police what other people post.

MoonlightMistletoe · 23/03/2020 19:50

What's scaremongering ? Take a look at what's going on and be scared because it's people like you who are not taking this seriously!

MrsJBaptiste · 23/03/2020 19:50

Not saying we don't need to do something drastic but

Anyway, lockdown isn't some terrible doom: if people in other countries can manage lockdown, I'm sure the UK public will too

Lockdown will actually be shit. I've just been put on 12 week isolation and the thought of being stuck at home until mid-June is awful.

helgahelga · 23/03/2020 19:50

How do you know @BuyingaHome ???

ineedsun · 23/03/2020 19:50

We're on day10 of self isolation, proper self isolation and actually it's not too bad.

Now we can go in the garden it's actually quite nice

Sostenueto · 23/03/2020 19:50

It will be lock down at least in London I'm afraid but will be all over I think and about time. Our death rate is bigger than Italy's at the same time when it started in Italy. Their death toll is over 5000 now. NHS getting overwhelmed in London, no respirators, no beds, staff off, staff dying. Yep it's lockdown!

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 23/03/2020 19:50

Mintjulia Not so bad for people with gardens. Absolute hell for people/children without.
Despite this I also think it needs to happen soon.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 23/03/2020 19:50

Oh wind your rather preachy neck in

Glowcat · 23/03/2020 19:51

Lack of a proper lockdown is raising my anxiety.

Isitmyimagination · 23/03/2020 19:52

So if we lock down in 7/10/14 days....... we’ll be saying -
“I’m on a ventilator gasping for breath, no family around me and about to die. But at least I managed to get to Asda for that pasty I wanted”

lyralalala · 23/03/2020 19:52

I need to move house and I won't be able to and I'll essentially be homeless if we lock down tonight.

Why will you be homeless?

If you can't move into your new house because of lockdown then the people moving into your current house won't be able to move either.

Everyone will just stay where they are

SmileEachDay · 23/03/2020 19:52

* bumblingbovine49

That would probably be classed as an essential journey, so no reason why you couldn’t go to that appt.

Opendraw · 23/03/2020 19:52

As good old Nicola said it should already feel like lock down and if it doesn’t you are not doing it right. Not that we can preach I’m dealing with an infuriating husband and mother :-). She said lockdown is just an enforced version of what we should be doing already. Bojo just way too waffley

adaline · 23/03/2020 19:52

I need to move house and I won't be able to and I'll essentially be homeless if we lock down tonight.

I really don't think Boris or Covid-19 give a fuck about that, frankly.

I appreciate you're worried and scared but accusing other people of scaremongering because the lockdown doesn't fit with your plans is a bit silly, really.

Legoandloldolls · 23/03/2020 19:55

Thanks for the update Boris 👍

I'm.alreadt shitting myself over the pandemic so even if aliens landed right now I would find it hard to feel anymore stressed so lockdown doesn't scare me much.

Tbh every single person I see scares the shit out me right now. I find myself washing my hands as I get out of the shower!

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 23/03/2020 19:55

agree! It's ridiculous! I need to move house and I won't be able to and I'll essentially be homeless if we lock down tonight. sad

So it's all about yourself and your personal situation. Fuck everyone who'll get sick and die as long as you get to buy a house. If we're locked down you'll be staying put for now. You won't be thrown out. Maybe you can take the time then to reflect on how personal selfishness and entitlement is costing peoples' lives.

forrasee · 23/03/2020 19:55

The laws have been passed today

No they weren't. Honestly. They're tabled for Thursday

Bunionbandit · 23/03/2020 19:55

We are going into lock down 😬 asap

Sostenueto · 23/03/2020 19:56

Government has now nationalised all train networks temporarily and warned ALL Brits abroad to come home now ( but they will not help them to do so) tests should not have gone on holiday so tough! Because all airports and docks will be shut down too. Non essential shops, workers being told to work in other industries. Yep it's a National Crisis like never before. Bolt down the hatches! A blooming nightmare for all but it will save lives. Age range of those that passed away today was 47-103. Yesterday an 28 yr old and 30 yr olds. No one is invincible after all. Be careful folks and for goodness sake obey the rules!

LilQueenie · 23/03/2020 19:56

we were warned about lockdown if people didn't keep to the guidelines. Then off they all went to the beach. WE are going on lockdown.

Tonyaster · 23/03/2020 19:57

As good old Nicola said it should already feel like lock down and if it doesn’t you are not doing it right

She's gone right up in my estimation with her handling of this.
