Totally out of his fucking depth

@PerkingFaintly Indeed. He seems so much more in control.... very clear in his dialogue and can actually string a coherent sentence together when asked questions unlike that bombastic twat next to him

As for Boris - what do people want exactly?

We need someone who recognises what essential information people need to have, and gets that information from his advisers and communicates it clearly.

I want ^^this. I want him to be a confident, reassuring statesman that I can have some faith in. He still sounds like a grubby little chancer.Angry

NanSlayer · 19/03/2020 19:24

$uck you Boris you made me do this.
Meme warfare has begun!

@DamnYouAutoCarrot

@Keepcalmanddoyourbit laughing face emojis and personal digs. You just look more juvenile with every update. Talk about out of your depth, at least debate the issues.

100% agree with this. The OP is sounding worse with every post they submit!

(And your username is brilliant btw! Grin )

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 19/03/2020 19:27

He's going to go down in history as a bloody hero though...he 'got Brexit done' and now he's single-handedly going to get us through COVID-19. It sickens me.

Justanotherlurker · 19/03/2020 19:28

Imagine trying to shoe horn in your apparent partisan politics onto a world wide pandemic, imagine how bitter and ill informed people must be to try and score political points when countries are shutting their borders.

Imagine the irony that the people that do this, are broadly the same people who like to make out they read around the subject because they are better educated and listen to the scientific community.

MN is becoming more of a parody of itself everyday, you can see why they had to contain the discussion with its own area.

Sunshinedaffodil · 19/03/2020 19:29

I’m really really glad it’s not Jeremy Corbin up there. I think Boris is the best of a bad bunch tbh.

The fact JC sneaked his family off for private tests done on the hush hush when most NHS staff haven't been tested proves what kind of man he is. Spineless.

Redbonnie · 19/03/2020 19:29

Well said Perking.. I was hopeful he would take the approach of surrounding himself with experts but would shine at the comms. I thought he could be the fabled lazy general. His chancellor is doing a much better job than him. I was thinking myself that he will try to wriggle out of this. Can’t help but think of Gove’s words after the Brexit vote. Looks like a classic case of ambition\ability gap. Having said all that there is a chance that he is waffling because they are about to do a full shut down and he is trying to avoid panic and migration from London. I can only think that is why he is allowing people to panic buy to the extent they are. Crowding shops with people and creating a breeding ground for this to be transferred.

Nonnymum · 19/03/2020 19:31

I agree OP. However on another thread one poster said thank goodness we have a strong leader and commented on how well he was doing. I was wondering if I had missed something!

Keepcalmanddoyourbit · 19/03/2020 19:31

@LittleYorkshireLass If my posts rile you so much then ignore them instead of jumping on them. Job done.

Get Brexit Done was his mantra. Then he thought he could sit back and give a two fingered gesture to the EU.

Nope, this is Real now, and he should have been careful for what he wished for. Bet it's the first time in his life he ever had to work so hard.

And am delighted it has to be said, that Theresa May is self isolating and enjoying the fact that she tried, but doesn't give a shite now.

100% agree with this.

Not at all shocked at Corbyn doing that though. He is one of the most disingenuous, fake, dreadful, abysmal articles ever to grace Westminster. Thank GOD it's not him at number 10. God help us ALL if it was.

MarshaBradyo · 19/03/2020 19:34

I think it’s the one saving grace LittleYorkshire. Not much at this point in time granted,

Keepcalmanddoyourbit · 19/03/2020 19:35

@Nonnymum Yes. Bojo is the poster boy for the wealthy and elite in this country, he doesn't give a shit for the elderly, the vulnerable, the poor.... he is shored up by rich and will make sure they are his priority. Perhaps those posting their support of him should do some research into his earlier ideas and opinion pieces.

Would prefer a tailors dummy to Corbyn...and what?

LondonLass61 · 19/03/2020 19:37

Just interested - who or where has it been confirmed that Corbyn and his family had private tests done?

Doesn't work like that on here luv.

Nice try though. Wink

As I say, don't post ridiculous crap on here and then get all pissy when you're challenged on it.

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 19/03/2020 19:38

If you want to see how a politician should be conducting themselves in this situation, look at Nicola Sturgeon. She has been measured, compassionate and firm, and has clearly explained what decisions are being taken. I wish the UK at large had watched her and her Health Secretary in the Scottish Parliament a couple of days ago, and the emphatic way they said this is not a time for party politics; and the leader of the Scottish Tories, to be fair, was equally emphatic that we are all to be working together on this. They had a civilised exchange of clear questions and answers.
However there are so many people (English and Scottish) on MN for whom the very word Sturgeon is just a trigger to see red and start shouting "wee Krankie, I can't stand her!" that I think those people deserve Boris. - It's a pity the rest of us have to thole him though.

Keepcalmanddoyourbit · 19/03/2020 19:41

Maybe take your own advice Missus Pot?

Notonthestairs · 19/03/2020 19:43

I'm a Labour member but not a fan of JC. I don't think Tories are evil, I admire a number of them. I have followed the Government's advice to the letter. I liked Sunak's speeches this week - he comes across as very knowledgeable on his brief. I really want them to succeed - our lives depend on it - so I'm not taking a party political stand.

But I have found Boris' communication skills lacking and the Government should have shutdown the lockdown rumours last night - letting them run over 16-18 hours meant people left London and possibly took their germs with them. That makes me v angry.

Being in Government now must be a shit job, I get that. But holding them to account again and again is what we do isn't it? I'm sure there must be a few Conservative voters worrying along with the rest of us.

The80sweregreat · 19/03/2020 19:45

How do people know that Boris and his MPs haven't been privately tested? They can afford it and his girlfriend is pregnant and should be protected whatever you think of him or her. I'm no fan of our PM but I wouldn't blame him if he did.
I didn't know that about Corbyn but plenty of others have probably paid and I don't blame them really! This is a killer virus and Corbyn is older than Boris. I bet others on here would get tested privately if they could afford it too.
People will do what is best for them and all this political point scoring doesn't help matters either.,
I agree the pubs and clubs should be shut down but I'm sure the lockdown will come eventually: time will tell if it's too little too late but none of us on here have powers to do anything about it. It's a shame that people don't care enough to heed the warnings.

It's probably just so his chums can run off to the country tomorrow! Which they probably will.

Keepcalmanddoyourbit · 19/03/2020 19:46

way to get population in the UK down I guess
