Anyone else bombarded by people saying we are going full lockdown at the weekend?
I can't work out if fake news or not!

Army pic looks wrong. Driving on wrong side of the road for one thing, and there are leaves on the trees.

Fake I reckon.

Everything will be closed by the weekend anyway, isn't that all lockdown means? You can still leave your house for shopping or for a walk where you can avoid close contact!

I work in Defence and DH is military. Amazed that we’ve not been told that an army lockdown is happening...

Why would they go to the trouble of talking about schooling key workers children and vulnerable children if they are planning a lockdown. It doesn’t make sense. Just say schools are closing.

I've seen a video this evening that was sent to my daughter - it was on the M25 it was dark - army trucks carrying tanks along the motorway.

Hmmm.... well if it's proper lockdown, you can't leave your house. In Spain, if you have a dog, you have to be within 50m of your house.

Only one person allowed to go to the supermarket and you have to provide receipts to show you've been, or bags to show you're going. If two of you walk out together you are fined a minimum of 500euros.

No one can walk anywhere unless there is a reason. But the Guardia Civil over there are rigorous. How it will happen here god knows.

@Kungfupanda67 which is why the person who rang me gave the answers that they did and didn’t tell me anything specific. It is the fact that they rang me, when they almost never do that has freaked me out.
Usually I am texting or emailing them to no avail!

I haven't seen postmen on the list of "essential workers" anywhere. Does that mean all non food deliveries will stop? Am I missing something?

London seems to be in lockdown from tomorrow evening, I was also told this by my boss a couple of hours ago...we will soon see I guess

Heard from the ex in France that her neighbour was fined 60 euros as she didnt have the right form filled in!, you can go to the supermarkets food shops and pharmacies but nowhere else unless the right paperwork is in place!

Turning this around for a minute -

why do those who don't think there'll be a lockdown think that?

Where I am you are only supposed to go out for food, medicine or fuel. Everywhere non essential is closed. I suppose it's a lockdown but no police or military have been required. You can still go out for a walk if you want, just keep your distance from others. Seems like some people want it to be a dramatic military lockdown because it would be more exciting or something.

Wouldnt surprise me that the Army may be called in to do some jobs like keeping order and driving delivery vehicles etc..

He knows people in the government..I try not to listen to everything he says but so far he's been right...

There's a photo doing the rounds of military trucks on the motorway making people think there's some sort of lockdown coming. In reality they're just on their way back from an exercise. People are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 53.

DH and DS1 are in the military. DH is on a course and has heard nothing, DS1 had a lesson on how to wash his hands this morning then they've had the afternoon off.

That's fake news

liverpoolarefab did the tanks have the date spray painted on their sides? Because otherwise they could have been filmed last year, or the year before, being moved from one base to another, or being taken to a film set........
