Can she get her prescription printed by her gp, but then filled online and delivered to your mums?

BeyondMymymymyCorona · 17/03/2020 19:33

A big pharmacy like boots might be able to send it to another branch?

Angryrant55 · 17/03/2020 19:34

Through i imagine its possible to work arround it. Maybe ring her freinds chemist to see if the order could be moved to a local one.

Angryrant55 · 17/03/2020 19:35

Boots are doing it online.

ofwarren · 17/03/2020 19:38

Do we know much about the 45 year old who died?

Antonello Guerrera
'NEW #Coronavirus #COVID19 toll from Italy. The appalling, endless Spoon River continues. This sounds like war.
• 26,062 infected (2,989 more than yesterday, when it was +2,470)
• 2,503 dead (+345. Yesterday +349)
• 2,941 recovered (+192. yesterday +414)'

SansaSnark · 17/03/2020 19:49

@Eeyoresstickhouse I do think it sounds like a good idea if at all possible- mental health is important too. It should be possible to get a prescription sent elsewhere, and I doubt it will be easy to see any GP in the coming weeks.

The numbers coming out of Italy are really worrying Sad

SunshineCake · 17/03/2020 19:52

My son is home from uni.

Dh, dd and I have a cough. No temperature though. I have asthma. Due to go to an important appointment tomorrow. Really hard to know if it should go. It might seem easy but it isn't always.

Went to get food for dc birthday. No pasta, rice, sauces, biscuits, detergent, pizzas, frozen veg. Very low on cat food. Lots of fruit and veg Sad. Saw two members of staff restocking.

Worst hit area in Italy (Lombardy) no longer seeing exponential growth, so their lockdown appears to be having an effect.

SansaSnark · 17/03/2020 20:02

@buttermilkwaffles That is really good news.

In other news, English Heritage are closing their staffed sites: www.english-heritage.org.uk/about-us/search-news/covid-19-statement/

Quartz2208 · 17/03/2020 20:07

@angryrant55 yes we should but we should have done it right at the start when China went into lockdown!

boatyardblues · 17/03/2020 20:35

The only one that does seem to be successful is South Korea and even that still has clusters appearing

Although SK shares a land border with N Korea, it is hard border with no migration. It therefore provides a buffer with China to the north. If they’ve been strict about screening at airports and seaports, it will have been a lot easier to contain infections brought by inbound travellers.

McDonalds offering free drinks to all emergency personnel, health and social care workers this week.

Joyfulljenny · 17/03/2020 21:08

What are you supposed to do if you think some one has it? I thought they were testing now?

Gammeldragz · 17/03/2020 21:15

Ds1 isolating due to cough, kept the others off school and expect them all to be shut by the end of the week. Many local schools announced closures today due to staffing levels.
Going to work though as they have said its up to me whether I go in, I wouldn't if I thought DS had it but he's barely coughing at all and no temperature above 37.8. There's no other nurse to see my patients, so I didn't feel I could stay home when nurses in hospitals are working despite contact with diagnosed cases. I will be cancelling everything that isn't essential though.
Feel bad as I don't like breaking rules, but also don't want my patients losing out on care.
My sister actually has a cough and is a care worker, work have said go in tomorrow as long as no fever (they are checking staff temperature every 2 hours!).

DS2's gym class going ahead, coach asked for opinions on whether to keep going. I have told them DS is avoiding unnecessary social contact due to asthma, but I was the only parent who seemed concerned as all others replied keep going as normal...

immrmeeseeks · 17/03/2020 21:18

Has anyone seen any posts from shanghaidiva recently? Or any news on how China is doing now restrictions relaxed?

Angryrant55 · 17/03/2020 21:21

Lewis Goodall - 'NEW: @LeoVaradkar
tells Ireland (in an unusual televised address) that the current emergency is likely to go on well beyond March 29th and possibly into the summer.'

TheCanterburyWhales · 17/03/2020 21:23

I saw Shanghai on a thread yesterday I think.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 17/03/2020 21:25

I was also wondering about shanghaidiva - hope she is ok.
