Yes vikkimoog that would be non-essential, unless you are helping them in some way I assume

enjoyingSun · 16/03/2020 17:16

Not asthma? Or only if you have asthma and get offered flu jab?

I get the flu jab - as does DS 12 asthma - they seem to be saying maybe I do as an adult but it's very unclear Confused.

Sometime I get called in - sometimes I have to chase and letters don't seem to get sent though they still agree I need one- this year had to chase was due to sudden staffs shortages at GP they didn't have enough appointments and kept canceling last minute.

BackInTime · 16/03/2020 17:16

Mass gathering still allowed but no emergency support? Have I got it wrong? If so it would be disastrous!

Maybe something to do with the licensing, large events need emergency services support and would not be able to go ahead without having this in place

ineedaholidaynow · 16/03/2020 17:16

Most of this seems very wishy washy

middleager · 16/03/2020 17:17

The MP in Derby said they produce a £5 testing kit.
Why can't we all have this?

Skybluepink123 · 16/03/2020 17:17

When would 14 days start from? My teenage daughter has been really ill since last Friday night and is still poorly with the main symptoms. Do the family need to stay home from now as she’s still really ill or 14 days from last Friday?

PoisoningPigeons · 16/03/2020 17:19

It's like saying Beetlejuice three times. Any thread that might be critical of the great Boris, and the faithful turn up to recite slogans like "trussssst the government" "followwww the (data-less) sciencccccceeeee" Hmm

TiddyTid · 16/03/2020 17:19

Right so they're trusting the public to do the right thing. Like telling the public not to panic buy. That worked well too.

alloutoffucks · 16/03/2020 17:19

Bloody hell, this press briefing is just a shit show of contradictory and unclear advice.

NeurotrashWarrior · 16/03/2020 17:20

@blueberryjam phone or email or tweet asthma UK to clarify this week.

BackInTime · 16/03/2020 17:20

Trust and Boris do not belong in the same sentence

LizzieSiddal · 16/03/2020 17:20

That was not clear at all!

Are over 70s supposed to stay in for 12 weeks from this weekend?

Justmuddlingalong · 16/03/2020 17:20

I'm going to wait for a bullet point release of the latest guidelines. The current news conference is too stuttery and I'm struggling to take all the points in. BJ is awful as a public speaker. (Among other things obviously)

HeronLanyon · 16/03/2020 17:20

14 from last Friday. Although WHO just minutes earlier said 14 days from end of symptoms !

Lily193 · 16/03/2020 17:20

Agree about who press conference. Authoritative and clear.

Yes. Completely clear regarding what's expected of people over the next 2-3 days.

alloutoffucks · 16/03/2020 17:20

@PoisoningPigeons Yes agreed. I am always reminded of the snake in The Jungle Book. Trust in meeee, only meeee.

TonytheDog · 16/03/2020 17:21

Bloody hell! A bunch of 10 year olds could do better than this lot! Our advice is no advice!

Userwhatevernumber · 16/03/2020 17:21

How many constitutes as a mass gathering?

10? 50? 100? 1000?

Lily193 · 16/03/2020 17:22

struggling to take all the points in

Seriously? I really don't see how much more clearly the information could have been delivered by any of those three individuals.

TheMarzipanDildo · 16/03/2020 17:22

BorneFeet

Er... I think the point is that the experts are saying different things?

Also I think that people who don’t believe science and politics have any connection must have quite a limited knowledge of history!

SquirrelInTheOak · 16/03/2020 17:22

Clear as mud.

SimonJT · 16/03/2020 17:22

How is 500 kids in a school canteen not a mass gathering?

BorneFeet · 16/03/2020 17:22

A lot of hysteria on here.

I agree, people are going way overboard.

Thousands die every day from the flu, the numbers are no where near flu!

TheReluctantCountess · 16/03/2020 17:22

‘A good disease and not the corona virus’ 🤔

BackInTime · 16/03/2020 17:22

@Userwhatevernumber I am hoping that one of the journalists asks this question
