Based on what I saw today, I think closing the schools at this point would be counterproductive, since parents don't seem to be keeping their children at home.

Titsywoo · 16/03/2020 17:02

Sorry is he saying if one person in house has symptoms EVERYONE in house needs to isolate for 14 days?

SouthWestmom · 16/03/2020 17:02

There was a list in the guardian

Lung conditions heart conditions asthma high blood pressure I think - I will link it

StylishMummy · 16/03/2020 17:02

@Titsywoo yes that's exactly what they're saying

Blueberryham · 16/03/2020 17:02

Is he passing the accountability to the individual instead of the government ?

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 16/03/2020 17:03

It's the same l think, diabetes heart chronic lung conditions

IsolationMum · 16/03/2020 17:03

High risk conditions are any heart or lung conditions, hypertension, diabetes, any immune system suppression.

FreakStar · 16/03/2020 17:03

Why on earth are they telling people not to go to pubs or theatres etc. but keeping these places open? Absolute madness!

Blueberryham · 16/03/2020 17:03

Schools staying open 😫

SouthWestmom · 16/03/2020 17:03

How can everyone stay in for 14 days? Even the crazy stockpilers will need som resources

Blueberryham · 16/03/2020 17:04

Freakstar - agreed . Absolutely crazy, I guess they want some to go to get immunity !

ineedaholidaynow · 16/03/2020 17:04

What is the definition of a mass gathering?

Titsywoo · 16/03/2020 17:04

Are people actually going to do all this do you think?

Missfritter · 16/03/2020 17:04

There are 2000 children in my DC’s school. How is that not a mass gathering?

Rosehip10 · 16/03/2020 17:04

BoJo is just dominic cummings mouthpiece.

MyDcAreMarvel · 16/03/2020 17:05

PM: Now is the time to stop non-essential contact with others, and it's particularly important for over-70s, pregnant women, and those with medical conditions.
But my children are expected to go to school! How does that match up with my medical condition?

CraicMammy · 16/03/2020 17:05

No pubs but schools are ok?!

Blueberryham · 16/03/2020 17:05

How many really are symptomless? They like to keep telling us this

covetingthepreciousthings · 16/03/2020 17:05

Why on earth are they telling people not to go to pubs or theatres etc. but keeping these places open? Absolute madness!

EXACTLY 👏🏻

I don't understand this at all, I work in a shop. So I'm supposed to go to work, and just HOPE that we have no customers??

millerjane · 16/03/2020 17:05

They've run the country in to the ground and are now abandoning us - cheers

millerjane · 16/03/2020 17:06

They are not being honest

BackInTime · 16/03/2020 17:06

Non essential social contact is a bit subjective - after school clubs, extracurricular activities, sports activities that kids attend, parents evenings. Are these non essential?

Rosehip10 · 16/03/2020 17:07

What is the point of telling people not to go to pubs etc but not actually closing them?

fedup21 · 16/03/2020 17:07

What constitutes a large gathering?
How many people have died today?
When are they going to close the schools?

MumInBrussels · 16/03/2020 17:07

Is pregnancy one of the high risk conditions where people need to self isolate for 12 weeks? Or should pregnant women just avoid all non-essential contact with people?
