Saudi Arabia closes all schools and universities across the kingdom until further notice due to coronavirus - SPA

SummerSazz · 08/03/2020 18:33

Thanks @ButterWhy and @NerrSnerr. I live in Glos and have always thought all these areas have a Glos postcode and not 'south Glos'.

Small areas such as Swindon seem carved out but the rest of Glos which is huge, including Gloucester and Cheltenham is all lumped together. Just seems rather odd but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at that Grin

Hi All,

Not sure if this has been posted. But RCOG are planning on releasing guidance on Covid-19 and pregnancy in the coming days.

You can sign up for an email update when its released.

So one of the cases in BCP attended the gym by smyths on Friday. My best friend and her husband were there on Friday, the gym has just rung them. Very close to home now!

ofwarren · 08/03/2020 18:34

What were they told to do Donkey? Just keep an eye on symptoms?

Twitney · 08/03/2020 18:34

Hopefully the government here will announce the nexts stages of the plan for delaying spread tomorrow.

DonkeyKong2019 · 08/03/2020 18:36

@ofwarren pretty much, told to be aware and that's about it!

ofwarren · 08/03/2020 18:36

That's very helpful Santos!
@usernameishistory that information would be good for the OP when it's available.
Lots of people ask questions about pregnancy

Butterwhy · 08/03/2020 18:37

@SummerSazz yeah it does seem odd if you don't know Swindon is off doing it's own thing :D

Rocketmam · 08/03/2020 18:38

I have been worried about my pregnant dn who lives in London, so will show her that!

Michelleoftheresistance · 08/03/2020 18:40

I'm finding these threads very helpful in reducing my anxiety, I like information and talk about things that worry me. It would be nice if people who don't deal with issues in that way would have the courtesy to just start a thread of their own instead of trying to police and disrupt those here that it is helping. We all have a 'hide' button, it's not compulsory to read anything.

Thanks for adding the fresh links to this thread.

FlamingoAndJohn · 08/03/2020 18:40

Do you have a link to that page showing the cases by county?

Lynatic · 08/03/2020 18:42

Not sure but tend to think a medical journal wouldn't publish without peer review ?

WouldShouldCould · 08/03/2020 18:46

@SummerSazz I think Torbay is separate to Devon so must be listed as unitary authority. Dorset says 0 cases but Bournemouth Christchurch Poole says 2 and the latter are definitely in Dorset. So that increases the number for Devon as a whole.

usernameishistory · 08/03/2020 18:46

@Lynatic
That link that I posted about wasn't peer reviewed.

I just think there is too much misinformation in the media that children can't catch it. It isn't true. It also isn't true that only old people get really sick

AnneKipanki · 08/03/2020 18:48

^Thread 17
Why ever not ?^

You do not have to be on it or read it if you do not like it .

AnneKipanki · 08/03/2020 18:48

Thanks for the information everyone.

SummerSazz · 08/03/2020 18:48

Thanks @WouldShouldCould. I'm clear now lol 😂

NotJustACigar · 08/03/2020 18:50

I need to figure out whether to cancel a two-day meeting that I'm supposed to be chairing next week. It's only about 30 people but they're coming from all over the UK. I prefer to cancel but maybe it's an overreaction and I'm worried I'll be made to look bad by the "it's just the flu" brigade which is the vast majority of people in my workplace. It would help me a lot if the government advises people to work from home and avoid unnecessary travel following cobra tomorrow. Fingers crossed they announce something sensible but I fear it will just be more waffle.

MaxNormal · 08/03/2020 18:51

DH works in an industry that will be heavily affected and has a lot of freelancers. Everyone is furious, saying that the media has blown it out of proportion and cost them a lot of work.
DH not so much, as we've been talking about it for ages so I think he gets how serious it is although he's naturally much more optimistic and less of a worrier than me.

ofwarren · 08/03/2020 18:53

Is there a cobra tomorrow? Do we know what time?

usernameishistory · 08/03/2020 18:54
