What is the name of the U.K. doctor who has been posting useful updates on YouTube please?

HerstoryInTheMaking · 08/03/2020 18:15

@summerSazz

We don't have a split for individual towns only local authorities. We know that torbay has 6 cases but Plymouth has zero but not for other towns inside the county council area.

Skyejuly · 08/03/2020 18:16

Thanks for new thread.

Do we think South Korea etc is better because the risk of SARS etc has always been more or just that sometimes different places are hit

I looked up Spanish Flu I never realised it lasted 2 years which I guess is part of the balancing act

SansaSnark · 08/03/2020 18:18

I agree that in a rapidly developing situation, posting new threads isn't causing panic, it's just an ongoing discussion.

MarshaBradyo · 08/03/2020 18:22

Thanks

ofwarren · 08/03/2020 18:22

I didn't realise you had made a new thread 🙈 there's me chatting to myself on the old one 😂

MangePasTesOnglesVilain · 08/03/2020 18:23

I think it may be useful to carry on the thread as it may be increasingly useful as the situation develops.

If people are managing illness at home if hospitals and GPS are overwhelmed we may be able to advise or at least give moral support to each other.

I'm going nowhere. (I've name-changed again as I found out someone I know well is on here).

SummerSazz · 08/03/2020 18:23

@HerstoryinTheMaking
There are town splits on the govt page - so Swindon (a town) shows 2 cases. South Gloucestershire (where Swindon is located) shows zero. But south glos isn't a county so should be in Gloucestershire county numbers which show 3.
I'm utterly confused by their breakdowns 🤷‍♀️

Long time lurker here and I would like to say a HUGE thank you for all the informative links and updates!!

To all the people that have a problem... log off or look at other posts that you actually agree with rather than sticking your nose in where quite frankly, it's not wanted!!

hoovermyrug · 08/03/2020 18:26

Thanks for the thread. To the detractors: If this helps people adapt their behaviour preventatively it will be worth it.

usernameishistory · 08/03/2020 18:26

You're on thread 17 stop this now... Surely you're increasing the concern hmm

If you read the threads you can see for yourself, no need to tell those gaining benefit to stop it

@SummerSazz Swindon is a unitary authority, it used to be part of Wiltshire, as it only split in the 1990's it is included in Wiltshire's emergency services coverage etc, but is technically it's own bit of the country. It has never been part of South Glos

Carlislemumof4 · 08/03/2020 18:27

www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/18290477.fifth-case-coronavirus-cumbria-confirmed/

The fifth case of coronavirus has now been confirmed in Cumbria.

The latest person to test positive for COVID-19 is from South Lakeland.

A spokesperson for Cumbria County Council confirmed the fifth case saying that it is unconnected to the other cases in the county.

The latest person to test positive is said to have travelled to Italy.

Lynatic · 08/03/2020 18:27

I don't know how it works but both studies are published in medical journals and not by students username

HeIenaDove · 08/03/2020 18:28

@littledrummergirl Totally agree. While reading the post about the irresponsible footballer it dawned on me that the expectations of women to be sensible/self isolate will be likely to be higher than those placed on men. Id lay money on it.

kimmy3001 · 08/03/2020 18:28

ofwarren thank you so much for keeping us updated!! Thanks

NerrSnerr · 08/03/2020 18:28

South Glos isn't in Gloucestershire. It's just North of Bristol (Swindon isn't in south glos either). It's a bit of a strange area and the name is confusing but certainly in the NHS South Glos and Gloucestershire are separate .

usernameishistory · 08/03/2020 18:28

MangePasTesOnglesVilain

Yes indeed, hopefully its supportive of the very anxious, certainly we've had posts to say this, and hopefully that will continue.

Did you let the other poster know so they could nc too Blush

Right people we all need to go live under a rock, because some posters are getting hysterical about anyone who doesn't live under one.

Please move calmly and slowly so not to trigger anyone watching, There are enough rocks for everyone.

usernameishistory · 08/03/2020 18:30

@Lynatic ?

I'm saying its not been peer reviewed.
