So at the moment it's hand sanitiser, handwash and toilet rolls. What's next ?

@Allonym
My local cash points been out of order for a week. Surely if we have to isolate though, cash would be useless? I'd be ordering stuff online etc. Same with fuel, it won't be needed.

fiddledefiddle · 07/03/2020 19:27

This thread will be self fulfilling as people will post on here what will sell out and then fools will rush out and buy it.

I predict a rush on piccalilli, beetroot and cream crackers. Plus zofloro.

Find different solutions, Google other ways, ultimately think out of the box.

Redredwine99 · 07/03/2020 19:27

My local Sainsbury’s has run out of sanitary towels

AuntieStella · 07/03/2020 19:28

The cat inhales that and then goes to murder the local wildlife

Clever girl! Won't be needing to buy any more food for her at all!

1forsorrow · 07/03/2020 19:30

I'm worrying about an V.I.Poo and anchovy shortage how about everyone else. I bought anchovies yesterday. My husband loves a pizza but only if it has anchovies on it. I wouldn't eat them if you paid me, can't stand the smell.

Fuckwheresitgone · 07/03/2020 19:30

It's Coronafuckinggeddon round these parts. Never seen so many empty shelves. Mind you the supermarkets must be very pleased with their profits, so for some it's a winning situation.
I think mouthwash, toothpaste, shampoo and lip balm will become in short supply. And probably pet foods as people stock pile in case of quarantine. I also think the amount wastage/environmental impact as people throw away surplus stock when they run out of storage space and the panic dies down will be grotesque.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 07/03/2020 19:31

If my local Tesco is anything to go by, baked beans.
Though the local Aldi, Lidl and Sainsbury's had them. They also had toilet roll and paracetamol (though oddly all were lacking in ibuprofen).

Poppiesway1 · 07/03/2020 19:32

Just been to Asda as my weekly online order was out of stock of lots of things...
the toilet roll shelves were empty, the pasta aisle was bare, still no hand soap / gel. No bread (had to buy those little par cooked rolls for packed lunches this week) No Swiss roll or angel cake (ds2 not happy)

I get my dog food and washing liquid online monthly so hopefully they won’t be affected (specially the dog as he’s allergic to “normal” dog food!

PlumsGalore · 07/03/2020 19:32

West Yorkshire here, Everything plentiful including loo roll, except plain old soap, hand wash and obviously hand gel. There were limited amounts of soap and hand wash but it was Morrisons own brand.

Otherwise you couldn’t tell there was a panic on.

WrongKindOfFace · 07/03/2020 19:32

I’ve just been looking at Tesco online. Weirdly there is a shortage of Tesco branded eggs. Loads of bleach and loo roll.

Changedusername76 · 07/03/2020 19:33

I went to Costco yesterday to stock up. I figured that as it is a wholesale place I wouldn’t be stopping people doing their local shop iyswim. They were rationing the purchase of toilet roll, kitchen roll and anti bac soap though but I think that’s fair enough as people are getting slightly manic,

Toomanyapplesinthefruitbowl · 07/03/2020 19:33

Fuel shortages have already kicked in here - rural ish area and the three nearest petrol stations had all run out by lunchtime today.

WrongKindOfFace · 07/03/2020 19:33

Oh and fusilli was out of stock in most sizes, but plenty of other pasta.

GnomeDePlume · 07/03/2020 19:35

Olives, sun dried tomatoes, brushetta, tapenade.

We will need something to nibble delicately while waiting for the end of the panic.

Lou0390 · 07/03/2020 19:36

Nappies
Wipes
UHT/powdered milk
Fuel

RozHuntleysStump · 07/03/2020 19:38

I’m going out for a wine stock up tomorrow. I need my Malbec.

SnoozyLou · 07/03/2020 19:38

@1forsorrow I get a massive box of persil delivered from Amazon for about £15.

bluehighlighter · 07/03/2020 19:39

Those of us who stockpiled for a no deal Brexit can just sit back and relax now. Only problem is that if we can't buy food in the Autumn we'll have nothing left for the highly likely no deal Brexit in January. Gobsmacking that this moronic country is heading for a no deal Brexit on top of global warming and a pandemic. It's certifiable (and criminal).

Toria70 · 07/03/2020 19:39

If only the panickers could buy common sense in a supermarket.

Sadly thats in very short supply, it seems Hmm

1forsorrow · 07/03/2020 19:40

Supermarkets round here were all out of toilet rolls yesterday and today, I was in Asda and DIL said Sainsburys were the same. Went into The Range to get a tin of paint and they had loads of toilet rolls, packs of 9 and 24.

vera99 · 07/03/2020 19:40

Everything! Supply chains will be hugely impacted and for lengthy periods and the supermarkets will go over to supplying the just the basics so your Modena Balsamic Vinegar Glaze and other such necessities of civilised life will disappear.

whatisheupto · 07/03/2020 19:41

Thanks to all those peppers who stock up in sensible small amounts throughout the year and therefore are not clearing the shelves now Smile

whatisheupto · 07/03/2020 19:41

Preppers, not peppers!

Everytimeref · 07/03/2020 19:42

Kellogg's cornflakes. Not a single box left in local Tesco!
