Fimofriend · 07/03/2020 19:07

Our shops are only out of sanitizer.

itsgettingweird · 07/03/2020 19:08

Yep UHT milk had run out and not loo roll at my local Tesco today!

lowlandLucky · 07/03/2020 19:09

The only item sold out here is hand gel, there are full shelves of loo roll, pasta, tinned goods etc. People neeed to calm down

reluctantbrit · 07/03/2020 19:10

Tea bags, frozen veg, fish fingers, chips, pasta and there is a lack of flour at my local Waitrose

Largeyellowdaffodil · 07/03/2020 19:10

Today at sainsburys- no loo roll, no hand sanitizer, no cleaner type wipes, low on bleach, no anti bac sprays, low on dog food, not soap at all, no paracetamol type pills. low on rice

itsgettingweird · 07/03/2020 19:12

The actual problem for me was having to stock up today on liquid painkillers as ds has a long term condition requiring frequent pain relief.
I usually keep at least half a bottle and spare but I've needed to make sure he has it - for his condition not corona!

DirtyBlonde · 07/03/2020 19:13

Bloke on r4 said as long as people don't keep stocking up, shops should readjust. And once people have industrial sized bags of pasta, they shouldn't need to buy more just yet.

LightAsTheBreeze · 07/03/2020 19:15

Marigolds

cologne4711 · 07/03/2020 19:16

We should probably start threads worrying about the shortage of the most stupid item

Cinnamon sticks.
Bloater paste

StarryGazeyEyes · 07/03/2020 19:17

Common sense seems to be in very short supply

SachaStark · 07/03/2020 19:17

Asda ran out of crumpets the other night.

I did wonder if this was the sign of a terribly British apocalypse.

MadamePewter · 07/03/2020 19:17

Marzipan
Butterscotch angel delight

cologne4711 · 07/03/2020 19:19

I hope people aren't stupid enough to try to stockpile petrol. Its really hard to store safely and I don't think an increase in fires is going to be helpful

My stupid father did this during the fuel strikes in 2000. Idiot. He had a drum of it in his garage. The garage was set back some way from his house, but you still wouldn't wanted a fire there, and there were houses either side of him!

Condoms will be next Baby boom in late November/December?

cologne4711 · 07/03/2020 19:20

all the fabric conditioner was gone horrible stuff anyway, full of chemicals and bad for your washing machine

WatcherintheRye · 07/03/2020 19:24

My local Waitrose was very short of Earl Grey tea bags, and had run out of Pom Bears, funnily enough!

Changedusername76 · 07/03/2020 19:24

Fuel shortages as people won’t want to use public transport due to the crowds slo more will drive.

LilQueenie · 07/03/2020 19:24

I wonder if people will start emptying cash machines

they will have problems if they do. there is talk of china going cashless as the virus remains on paper notes. If it happens we may be told the same.

CokeEnStock · 07/03/2020 19:25

My online shop today brought loo roll but no cat food! I went to garage but they only have Sheba. The cat inhales that and then goes to murder the local wildlife,

AuntieStella · 07/03/2020 19:26

Ocado was out of spelt sourdough bread this week

And some dog toothpastes

1forsorrow · 07/03/2020 19:26

Hardly any washing powder in Sainsbury's today. I actually need some but my normal buy, Persil non bio as it is the only one that DH isn't allergic to, was only available as those liquid capsule things.
