Conflict in the Middle East

Why would would you still have pro Palestinian marches apart from now instilling more fear into the Jewish community

Now we have what looks like a peace to be celebrated why are people still going to march for Palestine? The genocide has stopped in their opinion so shouldn't they be at least joyful or if that is not the case what do they really want? Do they want to keep marching until the Israeli state is no more?

You say the things we have all seen & heard have not happened because there were not 'mass arrests'. But you are so incurious as not to look into this further. Not to look into the well documented cases of open hate speech that have not been prosecuted. And you're clear you don't care.

A Jewish person has come on to explain what happens and how it impacts her community. You are very clear that you don't care.

Its useful for everyone to see this exchange.

Your comments are very rude

I have not said I don’t care
I have not said I don’t investigate and in fact I looked extensively on Local and National news to see if a demo in Manchester fell within the comments the pp made. My searching picked up on images within social media none of which indicated the march pp described

Your inflammatory speak regarding my personal thoughts are similar to Trumps lies
to garner favour, support and agreement from others

They are false and used often on these threads

And the police have made atrocious decisions in allowing so much of that sort of incitement to violence against women. What has that got to do with what we're talking about? You have a choice to join a protest calling for violence against women. A decent person would not take part even if they did not wish to incite violence themselves. The same applies to the many thousand who walk alongside those calling for violence against Jews and 'innocently' chant things they don't really understand. Ignorance is no longer an excuse.

Decent people have empathy for the suffering of those in Gaza
Decent people have a right to their freedom of speech

Only Authoritarians try to shut that down

Decent people have empathy for Jewish people feeling intimidated by what is going on at some of the demonstrations too.

They don't have much of a voice as such a minority group in the UK but are still important to listen to.

'UNRWA and The Lancet estimate tens of thousands of children under six are acutely malnourished'

Yes I think we've all agreed that malnourishment will be a problem in a warzone due to shortages it's your asserion that 'lots' of babies have died of starvation that has not been proved. As i said Fletcher had to retract a similar comment.

You could choose not to join marches that intimidate a minority.

Reasonable societies control incitement and intimidation and its not authoritarian to do so. Noone has the right not to be offended but again you can choose not to participate in offensive and intimidatory behaviour.

The marchers are showing a shocking lack of empathy and their defiance in asserting their rights, to no tangible purpose other than to intimidate, is disturbing and inflaming community tension.

I cannot imagine what it must be like for Jews with all this intifada crap going on in this country. How awful for that antisemite to be screeching about the 'zios'.

It's all so very disturbing.

This is the concentrated report of the numerical data in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, showing the number of fatalities, wounded, arrested, displaced persons, demolitions, clashes with the Israeli army and police, Palestinian resistance actions, coloni...

IDF soldiers have killed people that crossed the yellow line they had retreated to as per the ceasefire agreement, and didn't respond to being told to move back.

Hamas have not handed the dead hostages back in close to the number they said they would.

Either thing could trigger the ceasefire ending ... let's hope it doesn't.

Let's stick to the subject of this thread. The other things can be debated elsewhere.

just to clarify
According to reports they did not cross the line.
They were approaching it when they were killed by the IDF

There is no requirement in the ceasefire to have the line and then another line within that.

Most seem to have been sadly killed in airstrikes, tragic loss of life. We can surely agree it is despicable how hamas <who are now busy shooting civilians> did not even try to protect their people. Despicable.

Oh did you get through all 78 pages in those 3 mins you clicked on the page. Far too many have starved to death. Stop spreading misinformation that only children/babies with pre-existing conditions have died from malnutrition/starvation.

Depends on the source & who you believe:

The Israel Defence Forces confirmed its soldiers shot dead “suspects” in the Shejaiya neighbourhood of Gaza City.

Palestinian Civil Defence told the BBC that seven people were killed by Israeli forces in two separate incidents - in eastern Gaza and to the east of Khan Younis.

The Israeli military says it fired after people crossed the yellow line, where its troops have withdrawn to under Donald Trump's ceasefire plan.

Absolutely

That does not mean we should be forced into some sort of Authoritarian regime that shuts down our right to demonstrate and our right to free speech

Any demonstrators that incite violence against others should be arrested and charged. That’s the law

Those who are acting within the law have rights

As you say
’no one has a right not to be offended’ and I’m glad you have brought that up because I didn’t want to be the one to do so as it is quite contentious.

We have similar going on in the GC movement with trans people being offended and scared by every word, but words that upset others are not always Hate speech and harassment. And
Being offended is unavoidable if people disagree

No one has the right to ask others not to demonstrate on something they believe in because it offends them or because it scares them.

Why do you keep peddling the starvation story? Have you seen all footage of the gazans, none have been emaciated. Children with chronic medical conditions will of course sadly have had challenges but many were medivac'd out for treatment in other countries, Israel infact facilitated this in some cases.

Aren't you furious that hamas didn't protect their own people, are you horrified that they are now running wild murdering civilians now the IDF aren't close enough to be a deterrent/stop them?

and not the IDF

So are you denying the fact that children without pre-existing medical conditions have starved to death because of the blockade?

I’m talking about the fact that children and babies without pre-existing medical conditions have died from malnutrition and starvation. Your response/wording to this says a lot about you.

I have never said there aren’t some horrible people on some of the demonstrations and consistently said they should be arrested including on this thread if you RTT

Im sure we could find evidence on all types of demos many of which are scary.

Meanwhile I’m still waiting
for the proof from that Manchester demo from the pp

If they have then something ‘weird’ is going on because I have seen a lot of videos of celebrating Gazans over the last few days - large crowds, from various parts of the strip, mix of ages, reputable news sites - and none look thin, let alone emaciated. They look healthy and energetic.

How can this be possible in a famine that has lasted for months? Can anyone actually answer? I’m sure they had food chain supply problems and probably less food than they would like, but we’ve been lead to believe there was mass starvation. Can anyone show me evidence of this?

Bigpinksweater · 14/10/2025 19:56

Honestly if somebody can show me 1 recent video from a reputable source showing very thin looking Gazans I will accept it.

It's all very well piously saying 'well they should be arrested', but it's clear that they aren't being arrested and these things keep happening and Jews and other concerned parties keep being told that there's nothing to worry about and it's all actually about peace and love.

Someone on another thread the other day literally tried to tell me that 'Death to the IDF' isn't actually calling for death.

People rightly do not want calls for death or support for terrorists on the streets of our country and yet these things keep happening. It is not fair on the rest of the country to keep pretending that it's not a problem and prattling on about how there should be arrests.

It needs to be sorted out. The organisers are clearly incapable (or more likely don't actually want to). The police are not bothering. So now what?

Bigpinksweater · 14/10/2025 20:07

I mean, does this clip from Sky News yesterday make you think ‘mass starvation’?

The subject has been discussed at length on these CEM threads if you’re following them you will have read

Here’s one called
‘what was the purpose of this level of destruction ‘. There’s some info on there but of course many others

You request for images is sick and you’re acceptance or denial irrelevant

Bigpinksweater · 14/10/2025 20:17

Because in every other famine or starvation, unless they started as very obese, the vast majority of people look thin, if not underweight. Here is a video from the Horn of Africa some 14 years ago during a food crisis. The adults are all noticeably very thin, even the ladies in long clothing have stick like limbs and their faces are gaunt.
