Conflict in the Middle East

Feel like once the hostages are handed over Israel will start bombing again

It seems too good to be true, a final end to the war.

After all the plans that were announced with regards to annexation and the Israeli far-right government members, I can’t help but feel that once all of the hostages are released Israel will go ham on Gaza.

There will be nothing to stop them bombing everywhere.

No hostages to avoid bombing.

No families pleading with the Israeli ministers.

Israel has broken so many ceasefires and this was with the hostages lives at stake.

I don’t know, but I can’t celebrate with everyone as I don’t believe it will last and my heart says that’s it’s going to get worse.

I agree that it’s just too early to celebrate. I hope this is a lasting peace, but I’m not convinced yet.

deconstructingKaren · 10/10/2025 06:55

That's what I think

AhWeNoss · 10/10/2025 06:58

I don’t have any faith that Israel will respect the ceasefire. They have acted with impunity and demonstrated a level of brutality that no one could have expected. I find it hard to believe they will suddenly stop and withdraw, when Netanyahu made it clear he wants to control Gaza.

TeenagersAngst · 10/10/2025 07:06

If they do, Trump and others will have no choice but to withdraw support.

LilyCanna · 10/10/2025 07:07

I can’t see a total stop to the bombing happening either. Also wondering about how much food etc they will allow in.

justanotherpassword · 10/10/2025 07:08

Since the ‘peace deal’ was announced 29 Palestinians have been killed. Israel trying to kill as many as possible it seems before it officially starts. The date also keeps moving.

I feel the same, would be delighted to be wrong.

Malariahilaria · 10/10/2025 07:10

I think the same. Netanyahu has no reason to stop the bombing and every reason (in his mind) to continue it to its bitter conclusion. Why would he stop? He'll be arrested and tried once he does.

I'm afraid that to say Netanyahu has no reason to stop the bombing shows a big lack of understanding.

Trump has guaranteed that the war is over. It's crazy to think Netanyahu would just continue to allow the bombing of Gaza when the President of the United States is guaranteeing peace as long as Hamas stick to their side of the plan.

The US is Israel's biggest ally and it would be suicide to fall out with Trump.

UltraCynica · 10/10/2025 07:26

I don't think he'll stop either.

He hasn't completed the 'demolition phase' of his real estate building plans yet.

Wakeuplittlebunnies · 10/10/2025 07:27

See Danielle Weiss on Piers Morgan yesterday, this is what I think will happen.

Also, if Israel says that Hamas has caused a threat to Israel and then they start to bomb Gaza again who’s to check to see if it’s true.

I don’t think Trump will do a damn thing. Did you see the Gaza Riviera video?

Come on, it’s like telling a child, mums gone to the shops for five minutes when you know she’s gone away for the weekend.

Have you read some of the reports about what Netanyahu is saying about Trump? Where he’s saying he controls America now and Trump? I’m sure you have.

These reports are coming from credible sources.

A man so desperate to have a greater Israel and so desperate to stay out of jail that this war carried on for much longer than necessary won’t care about what Trump says. He’ll just blaming someone else.

I mean has everyone forgotten that Netanyahu was officially indicated in 2019 for bribery and what not. Do we think he’s just going to stop?

Israel could have killed tens of thousands on any day it chose over the last two years, including the last two weeks.
Your comment is ridiculous.

Wakeuplittlebunnies · 10/10/2025 07:46

Her comment stands. More Palestinians died during the ceasefire negotiations than there are hostages waiting to be handed over.

These lives are worth just as much as the Israeli hostages yet I doubt you know their names and what they look.

Yes, they will.

They will find some reason to keep going.

dairydebris · 10/10/2025 07:57

Bookmarking here to come back to hear you all say you were wrong about Israel in the event you are.

I think that if this ceasefire fails it will be because of Hamas. Ill come back to admit I misjudged Hamas if I'm wrong.

I think it'll hold. I'm choosing hope.

Hope both sets will find leadership over the next few years who will respect the other party and work in good faith for long term peace for both. Self determination for both. Freedom from political violence for both.

🙏🙏🙏🙏

No I haven't.

I only read reputable news sources so if you have one of those showing Netanyahu saying he controls America and Trump now, please link it.

You may have dreamt it or seen it on TikTok or something.

They will keep going if Hamas break the terms of the peace plan. And with Trump's blessing so it would be extremely foolish of Hamas to do so.

Still, Hamas don't seem very bright which is the worrying part.

I think that’s a really shocking statistic. I also don’t think for a minute thst this plan will succeed, although I would love to be proven wrong. Even if there is a temporary peace in Gaza, what will happen in the West Bank?

Reputable outlets? Thanks for making me laugh early in the morning.

I’ve read your comments for months or do you think like Hamas ‘we aren’t very bright’ either?

It is shocking that there are so few hostages alive. It not remotely surprising that more people have been killed during the period of negotiation. One side doesnt cease fire unilaterally at the start of negotiations. Its just not how it works.

Israel has broken so many ceasefires? Have you forgotten how this started two years ago? On 6 October 2023 there was peace. And for years Hamas has turned down the two state solution.

This didn’t start on 7/10.

The settlers will continue their violence.

All eyes are on Israel now. I hope the protestors etc keep up the pressure to ensure that they stop behaving in the way they have been.

Some pressure on Qatar, turkey and Iran seems to focus their minds.

In other news....Bellingcat reports that grain is being supplied to Yemen (houthis) from occupied ukraine, just as Iran was.
