Conflict in the Middle East

Feel like once the hostages are handed over Israel will start bombing again

It seems too good to be true, a final end to the war.

After all the plans that were announced with regards to annexation and the Israeli far-right government members, I can’t help but feel that once all of the hostages are released Israel will go ham on Gaza.

There will be nothing to stop them bombing everywhere.

No hostages to avoid bombing.

No families pleading with the Israeli ministers.

Israel has broken so many ceasefires and this was with the hostages lives at stake.

I don’t know, but I can’t celebrate with everyone as I don’t believe it will last and my heart says that’s it’s going to get worse.

Israel will not accept the ceasefire. They need the hostages back to keep other Israelis who are now protesting quiet.

Reputable outlets? Thanks for making me laugh early in the morning.

I’ve read your comments for months or do you think like Hamas ‘we aren’t very bright’ either?

Don’t you have a reputable source?

Bookmarking here to come back to hear you all say you were wrong about Israel in the event you are.

I think that if this ceasefire fails it will be because of Hamas. Ill come back to admit I misjudged Hamas if I'm wrong.

I think it'll hold. I'm choosing hope.

Hope both sets will find leadership over the next few years who will respect the other party and work in good faith for long term peace for both. Self determination for both. Freedom from political violence for both.

🙏🙏🙏🙏

I agree that it’s just too early to celebrate. I hope this is a lasting peace, but I’m not convinced yet.

Far to early for Nobel prizes too

quantumbutterfly · 10/10/2025 08:33

I'm aiming for cautious optimism myself....

They have accepted the ceasefire.

I think as there will be international oversight of Gaza, so that Hamas don’t get a toehold again, peace has a good chance.
Obviously the Islamic terrorism against Israel will continue, but that should not trigger another war.

Zippedydodah · 10/10/2025 08:59

I wouldn’t trust either side to hold the ceasefire; I can’t imagine that this is the end of hostilities.

This. There will undoubtedly be excuses from Israel to break the ceasefire. They will then claim that Hamas broke it. Netanyahu does not want peace, he wants Gaza and the West Bank. I want desperately to be proven wrong, but sadly I doubt it.

Definitely. A kid will throw a stone or someone broke through the fence out of Gaza and that’s them claiming Hamas broke the ceasefire and bombing will restart.

Timeforabitofpeace · 10/10/2025 09:10

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

I was struck by “once the deal is operating, aid trucks will surge through…” I thought they were insisting that aid trucks were never withheld.

somethingnewandexciting · 10/10/2025 09:11

Yes, it also feels like Gaza has been so decimated there is nothing for these people to return to, so the aid situation will continue for years.

Trump obviously will get the land somehow. Probably shared with Isreal so they can make luxury mansions on land full of blood.

Timeforabitofpeace · 10/10/2025 09:11

We’ll just have to see what happens in phase 2.

Are there any circumstances under which you would consider that the Palestinians had broken the ceasefire? It sounds like there is no situation in which they can be held responsible for anything at all.

User37482 · 10/10/2025 09:12

It’s interesting reading these posts, people genuinely seem to believe Israelis exist to just be mean to Palestinians. Such shallow thinking and weird little cognitive potholes.

Give the hostages back and once the ceasefire comes into affect observe the rules. Israel is an actual democracy and the majority of Israelis want an end to the war. Hamas don’t want to end it but the Qataris are now scared so they are going to try to enforce it.

The arabs and americans have done a stellar job to obtain a ceasefire and everyone should be grateful for this. The Palestinians I follow on twitter are bloody delighted.

StewkeyBlue · 10/10/2025 09:13

And once the bombing stops the Hamas leadership will return from their hideout in Qatar and start using the re-building aid to construct rocket launchers to fire on S Israel.

(as they had been doing for decades. That’s why people had ‘safe rooms’ to cower in on Oct 7th.)

Anyone here have a reinforced ‘safe room’ in their house? I don’t.

I hope hope hope that this process works but both sides are entrenched.

MrsSkylerWhite · 10/10/2025 09:15

Twiglets1 · 10/10/2025 07:18

I'm afraid that to say Netanyahu has no reason to stop the bombing shows a big lack of understanding.

Trump has guaranteed that the war is over. It's crazy to think Netanyahu would just continue to allow the bombing of Gaza when the President of the United States is guaranteeing peace as long as Hamas stick to their side of the plan.

The US is Israel's biggest ally and it would be suicide to fall out with Trump.

Agree. I do wonder what Netanyahu has been promised, though.

inamarina · 10/10/2025 09:20

Twiglets1 · 10/10/2025 07:59

No I haven't.

I only read reputable news sources so if you have one of those showing Netanyahu saying he controls America and Trump now, please link it.

You may have dreamt it or seen it on TikTok or something.

I’ve just googled it and it seems to be an allegation made by Tucker Carlson. He doesn’t seem to have provided any verifiable sources for it either though.

It’s not funny looks that will break the ceasefire but Hamas not returning the hostages as agreed.

It’s so one sided for some people, so black and white.
They claim with such certainty that Netanyahu doesn’t want peace - I wonder if they think Hamas wants it?

yummyscummymummy01 · 10/10/2025 09:32

I think it’s the beginning of things getting better but not the end. Trump won’t want to look like a fool so if Netanyahu does starting bombing again he risks losing American support. I think the tide had started to turn against Israel anyway, they’ve exhausted all good will that existed for them.

yummyscummymummy01 · 10/10/2025 09:36

Also I’m sick of the Palestinian people being judged by the behaviour of Hamas. I can only imagine the hatred people have for them in Gaza. If my babies were lying under rubble I’d hate Hamas and Israel.

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 10/10/2025 09:37

Israel will continue bombing and when they release all the Palestinian terrorists they will also take up arms and continue, sadly

Well the pro Israel people get judged by the behaviour of the Israel leadership so 🤷🏼‍♀️
