Conflict in the Middle East

Gaza Flotilla - genuine peace activists or Hamas puppets?

TicklishMauveSquid · 27/09/2025 22:36

It has been reported that these activists have rejected the Italian government and the Vatican's proposal to unload any aid they are carrying in Cyprus, to be transferred peacefully to Gaza.

They seem intent on sailing into a legal blockade in a warzone as a direct provocation to Israel who will be forced to take control of 50 boats and the people on them.

They have made lots of unproven allegations that Israel has attacked their boats which may well be to precursor violent resistance in 'self defence'.

They could be carrying anything, including weapons.

There is quite compelling evidence of Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood connections to this so called humanitarian flotilla, which could be considered perverse in the extreme seeing as Hamas has caused the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Hundreds of Israeli boat owners are being encouraged to counter protest in Navy approved zones (without interfering) as a presence 'a blue and white wall for the hostages'.

What do we think the outcome of this will be with Italian and Spanish Navy vessels in the mix?

This is quite a different situation than the ONE boat in the earlier failed attempt to breach the blockade this year where the 'activists' were peacefully appeased with sandwiches and sent on their way (after refusing to watch footage of Oct 7th).

Unmasking Extremism: The Hidden Networks Behind the “March to Gaza” Campaign

A campaign of so-called “peaceful solidarity” reveals disturbing ties to designated terrorist organizations.

It’s quite something to witness that these people can’t DENY that the Palestinians carried out horrific acts on Oct 7th only because they filmed them themselves, although most refuse to watch the actual footage, so they try to deflect by saying they had no choice but to slaughter young people at a music festival and families in their homes, behead people and take babies and children hostage and do a celebration parade with their coffins after they’d strangled them to death in captivity, and the rape claims surely can’t be true as Israeli women are ugly despite all the young female victims I’ve seen being very beautiful not that it matters as the rape was to cause pain and humiliation before they were horrifically murdered.

I say Palestinians because it wasn’t only Hamas who engaged in the atrocities of Oct 7th just like their supporters say Palestinians aren’t all Hamas even though Palestinians say themselves they are.

Jew haters only see what they want to see. The truth is inconvenient for the story they need to tell themselves and the delusion that they are good people fighting for a good cause.

Edited

When someone tells you they are Hamas believe them.

When Hamas film themselves kidnapping, killing torturing Israelis believe them when they say they will do it again.

When Palestinians celebrate in the streets after October 7th and spit on the bodies of raped and murdered young women from a festival believe that they meant to do it and their 'hearts and minds' are full of hatred and will do it again.

Thought I couldn’t be shocked anymore but I am.

It’s still on her Instagram at this time as well!

I think it also reinforces how absolutely dumb. as well as dangerous, these people are in that someone would show an Israeli hostage as a Palestinian prisoner and put a picture of him in a montage to depict Israeli brutality, then get a ‘celebrity’ who obviously doesn’t check or know what the hell they are doing, to publicly post it on their SM platform.

I'm giving up on this thread, as it's pointless trying to influence anyone.
But, I'll just leave the anti-flotilla, pro-Israel crowd with this...
I'm upset that you think people who are taking this peaceful action are motivated by antisemitism. Almost everybody is condemning the far-right Israeli government and their treatment of Palestinians. I'd be upset if you concluded from that, that most people are anti-Semites. Obviously there's been a very alarming rise in antisemitism, that's awful. But most of us criticising the Israeli government and the IDF are not antisemitic at all . It wouldn't occur to me to blame all Jewish people for the genocide. Likewise I wouldn't blame all Muslims for October 7th, 7/7 or. 9/11. My current condemnation of Netanyahu and the IDF is motivated by what they're doing in Gaza. Nothing whatsoever to do with their religion or race. I condemn Saudi Arabia's government for their assault on Yemen. Again, nothing to do with their religion. I condemn both American and British governments for the Iraq war, which doesn't make me anti-Christian, and I am a Christian myself.
I just have to say this before leaving and hiding the thread. Not to downplay antisemitism at all. I don't. But, it'd be awful if you thought most critics of Israeli actions are motivated by bigotry. We're not; we're motivated by a desire to to stop people suffering, and that's it! Speaking for myself anyway. Love and peace to all ❤️ 🕊️

Totally agree with this. This thread is full of vitriol towards anyone who is pro Palestine and anti genocide while the support for the flotilla is moderate in language and approach. The conflation of Judaism with Israel’s massacre in Gaza is in itself anti semitic as it suggests that all Jews agree with Israel’s actions - they don’t.

From a poet just released from Israeli captivity:

“Urgent: I haven't even finished thanking all the people who have messaged and supported me but unfortunately I have to come with another ask for amplification- there was a brand new separate flotilla called Thousand Madleens following our one a few days behind us and last night that flotilla was intercepted again in international waters and we can only guess that the humanitarian participants on it who include Irish writer Naoise Dolan and TD Barry Heneghan, Fionn McArthur, Veronica O'Keane and Mutaz Jadaan who were travelling on a large boat called the Conscience are currently being kidnapped and are in a really dangerous position. I haven't even had time to explain the danger we were in during our incarceration due mostly to being surrounded by extremely stupid people who were armed to the absolute teeth and determined to meet out what cruelty they could. Please, if you can once more amplify the calls to free all the people on this flotilla as quickly as is possible- every day and hour they are now at risk as of course are the Palestinians 24/7 for decades and secondly please do your best to insist that all our governments sanction and freeze out the criminal rogue state Israel from every international organisation or system from trade to culture to sport. There should be no country having normal relations with this criminal state.

Please, can you call and email and make as much noise as possible.
🚨 Take action NOW:

"There should be no country having normal relations with this criminal state."

Is that a helpful message to send the world at this particular point (peace negotiations)?

Weird how they all object to having guns pointed at them. What did they think they were sailing into, some kind of vegan food festival?

After 80 years of brutal oppression it is time the world says “no more” to Israel and finds a deal that ensures an end to Israeli aggression and land grabbing. All governments need to stop supplying Israel with military equipment and we all need to boycott Israeli goods to stand with human rights!

We don’t “all need” to do anything.

You do what you want to do re boycotting Israeli goods and I’ll do what I want to do which is not boycott Israeli goods.

Agree we need peace but that’s as much about protecting Israeli citizens in my mind (from the threat of Hamas & other extreme Palestinian groups) as about protecting Gazan citizens.

All citizens need protection from extremism.

Quite.

How do these people think peace will be negotiated without relationships with Israel?

What better illustration of the sheer self indulgence of these people.

Not sure some of them actually want peace.
Describing Israel as the sole aggressor during all the time since its inception and completely disregarding the attacks from the other side makes it look like they actually think Israel shouldn’t be there in the first place.

It doesn’t help at all.

Twiglets1 · 08/10/2025 10:26

MN is like a microcosm of the attitudes held by Israel government ministers versus the Palestinian groups ruling Gaza.

If we were all moderate in our thinking we could agree peace (actually we would have agreed it quickly after 7/10 as we wouldn’t want more bloodshed).

The more extreme versions don’t even want peace & prefer to keep the fight going.

It certainly didn’t help their cause having people like that horrible rape denying woman from Spain spouting nonsense on camera, or the British woman calling Israelis non-human.

You are deluded.
Has Hamas signed the ceasefire yet?
Or are they happy to live in tunnels, shitting in tin cans, while Palestinians die for their propaganda war?

There are reported cases of violence, having to drink water from the toilets, being kept in stress positions like on knees. People were denied their medicine like insulin.

When I heard the woman talking about Israelis , I think it was clear in the context she was shell shocked and talking about the prison staff.

But regardless, people will have opinions that I don’t agree with, like the Spanish woman questioning rape. I don’t need a report to believe that men will rape woman in situations like this and I don’t agree with her but I don’t think people with opinions that I find distasteful should be thrown in high security prisons and abused.

I just don’t think it’s a good enough excuse for any of this. They can smear these activists all they want but there is nothing that justifies treating unarmed protesters like this.

That poor “shell shocked” woman, Sarah Wilkinson, has made antisemitic comments before, spread conspiracy theories about Israel and expressed her support for Hamas.

Greta Thunberg has now deleted Evyatar David's image from her instagram post. I guess her pity evaporated when she learned he was an Israeli victim of Hamas. The irony of her post including the words "humanity cannot be selective"...

Sarah Wilkinson isn't shell-shocked, she's a hateful antisemite.

Not sure some of them actually want peace.
Describing Israel as the sole aggressor during all the time since its inception and completely disregarding the attacks from the other side makes it look like they actually think Israel shouldn’t be there in the first place.

Bingo! When the realisation that anti Semitism is world inherent and has to be actively uneducated out of a person ( like misogyny and anti Gay and Lesbian hatred ( hatred of those two is the spring from which the rest of the " alphabet" gets pressure)).

Anti Semitism is inherent to Christianity, Islam, Europeans, etc, etc.
It's the existence of Israel that troubles the majority of those claiming to be " for Palestine". That is why they do not call for Hamas to disarm as a means of bringing about peace, not do they call for Hamas to resign.
With peace, how can agitation continue against Israel, especially if she has a chance to rehabilitate her reputation with a peace that means no terrorist rule in Gaza or a valid Palestinians state?
Because if a valid Palestinians state was to start a war with Israel, the usual disingenuous protestations that Israel should turn her cheek to those "they know not what they do, they are prisoners on their own land" Palestinians would be null and void in the non partisan world and the anti Semitism would be unable to be cloaked , AT ALL.
They want the luxury of the release of their anti Semitism not to be called out or reigned in at all.
Peace in Gaza with a defunct, disarmed Hamas would be a block to their aim of the extinction of Israel as a state.

But only the Islamists, not even any of their co fellow faith travellers are bold enough to say what they mean and not care about Gazans dying to reach their aim.

Without realising that only having this special smoke for Israel, minimising Hamas and not calling it to account....the average Pro Palestinian does not have to say anything at all.

If Israel is a criminal state, the whole of the West, Middle East, Russia, China, North and much of Sub Sahara Africa, my heritage nation Jamaica, Brazil, Argentina, Vatican City and the City of London ( specifically), India, Pakistan....they are all criminal states, too.
And I have missed out many more.

Well said.
On a different thread, someone just said they didn’t think Israel had the right to exist in the first place.
At least they’re being honest, I suppose.
But imagine someone would say that about any other country.
