Conflict in the Middle East

Gaza Flotilla - genuine peace activists or Hamas puppets?

TicklishMauveSquid · 27/09/2025 22:36

It has been reported that these activists have rejected the Italian government and the Vatican's proposal to unload any aid they are carrying in Cyprus, to be transferred peacefully to Gaza.

They seem intent on sailing into a legal blockade in a warzone as a direct provocation to Israel who will be forced to take control of 50 boats and the people on them.

They have made lots of unproven allegations that Israel has attacked their boats which may well be to precursor violent resistance in 'self defence'.

They could be carrying anything, including weapons.

There is quite compelling evidence of Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood connections to this so called humanitarian flotilla, which could be considered perverse in the extreme seeing as Hamas has caused the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Hundreds of Israeli boat owners are being encouraged to counter protest in Navy approved zones (without interfering) as a presence 'a blue and white wall for the hostages'.

What do we think the outcome of this will be with Italian and Spanish Navy vessels in the mix?

This is quite a different situation than the ONE boat in the earlier failed attempt to breach the blockade this year where the 'activists' were peacefully appeased with sandwiches and sent on their way (after refusing to watch footage of Oct 7th).

A campaign of so-called “peaceful solidarity” reveals disturbing ties to designated terrorist organizations.

Well doesn't Sarah Wilkinson sound nice:

"The Israelis are not human. They have hands, they have faces, but they are not one of us. They are monsters".

Goebbels would approve.

How can someone whip themselves into such a frenzy? Calling an entire nation not human…

SharonEllis · 06/10/2025 20:11

It is a very special sort of derangement. I wonder how we recover from this?

But at least John Aziz sounds like a voice of sanity.

After Hamas’s attack, I lost hope. Then I started hearing from Israelis and Palestinians.

There is no genocide. There is no mass, random bombing. There is no machine gunning of civilians, nor bombing of refugee camps.
If there were, the death toll would be 500,000 or more by now.

There are all those things and they have been well documented- where have you been for the last two years? You can’t have opened a single newspaper

Thegreyhound · 06/10/2025 21:02

quantumbutterfly · 06/10/2025 09:47

They're disaster tourists getting the disaster tourist experience. Reminds me of the young lads who post smiling selfies with the Taliban, they're not so bad, unless you're a woman, or you piss them off, or you're a woman and you piss them off.
We wrap ourselves in our 'western' rights and freedoms, pushing the boundaries till they break and it could go either way whether they're more or less liberal when they come back depending on the government of the day. I think we know how most middle eastern governments would respond, we saw a snapshot with the protesters in Egypt.

You didn’t read how they were treated then I see.

Why should they be believed? They are not an objective entity full of integrity are they?
We ain't talking about Terry Waite and the like.
Shit stirrers with a barely duplicitous agenda against Israel decide to sail into her waters in the middle of a war with no sanction or authority from any of the home nations that they come from and neither on any of their behalfs.
And they met the non coddling , care not for their privilege of not having to have a job selves and got a war to busy themselves with Israeli authorities.
One would think that they had been brought up to think that they should, on being encountered, being the centre of everybody's world.
If they had the empathy that they convince themselves that they have above all others due to the cause that they support......they might have imagined what life is like in prison for all the Palestinians in Israeli incarceration, so as to refocus their energy and vanity from themselves.
They had a choice and they chose incarceration.
Obviously, the choice was not made in solidarity with Palestinians as they would have some shame and realise that their inconvenience and lack of coddling is a trifle in the grand scheme of things.
They need broader backs. Privileged activists of yore took pride in going to chokey to be treated like the average prole.

PaxAeterna · 06/10/2025 22:26

The reports on how they were treating are shocking really. Another two fingers up to the world by the Israeli administration. They’ll do what they want to people from any country and nobody will stop them.

Whether you think the flotilla was a waste of time or not, surely nobody can defend the treatment of what were peaceful, unarmed protesters.

Loved Greta’s speech on her release. I don’t doubt her integrity. They wrote Greta whore on her suitcase according to an observer at the airport. A small thing compared to other stuff but there is something so disgusting about it.

He does

"Where were the Palestinian voices condemning Hamas, expressing solidarity with the victims, and demanding the release of the Israelis who were kidnapped?"

"All my life, I’ve watched violence fail the Palestinian cause. Rocket attacks and terrorism never seemed to expand our territory or improve our political or economic situation. Violence just encouraged Israel to build more walls between us and them."

They never sailed in Israeli waters, they sailed in international waters and were abducted at gunpoint, illegally. Kidnapped, imprisoned and mistreated by brainwashed morons who think they have a right to take what they want and do what they want.

There is no genocide. If Israel wanted to genocide Gaza, there wouldn’t be any Gazan’s left alive today.
Why would Israel, if they were committed to a genocide, be going so, so slow? And why would they be interested in the ceasefire? Surely a ceasefire would end the alleged genocide?
It’s Hamas and their supporters who have vowed to kill every Jew. That’s a genocide.

The flotilla captives were treated well, much better than the hostages taken 2 years ago today.

The demonstrations taking place today in support of Palestine are absolutely disgusting. The UK has gone down the shitter.

Are you sure she was talking about the entire nation? I think she may just have been referring to the police/guards who dealt with them personally? I don't know though.
I personally abhor antisemitism and would never tar an entire population of a country with the same brush. I was utterly horrified by October 7th, two years ago today. But, am also utterly horrified by the genocide in Gaza and I unequivocally condemn Netanyahu as the criminal he is. The IDF are committing a genocide, and I do think some of them have lost their humanity. They have to have to starve innocents like that.
Those two things are not mutually exclusive at all. I think it's a pretty widespread view - October 7th and antisemitism - horrific, the genocide in Gaza - horrific.
Re the flotilla folk - I see them as very brave and genuine. Obviously there may be some exceptions, but those I've seen interviewed definitely gave no impression of being pro Hamas. Just pro babies being fed etc.

Puzzledtoday · 07/10/2025 07:03

Genuine peace activists obviously. Look at their history and listen to what they are saying. Wanting the Israelis to stop their brutal genocide has absolutely nothing to do with supporting Hamas atrocities.

Twiglets1 · 07/10/2025 07:32

your instinct is to defend Sarah Wilkinson @WoodlandLove but have you Googled her at all?

I just did and found she was arrested as soon as she was back in the UK.

Counter terrorism detectives have charged a 62-year-old woman with offences relating to the support of Hamas, an armed Palestinian group and political movement in the Gaza Strip.

Sarah Wilkinson, from Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire, was charged on Sunday with five offences under UK terrorism legislation, following her arrest in August 2024, said West Mercia Police.

Ms Wilkinson is accused of two offences of supporting a proscribed organisation, one each of encouragement and dissemination, as well as failing to comply with a S.49 RIPA notice, which relates to providing passwords for access to digital devices.

She is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on 20 October, the force said.

Why do you think they decided to starve 2 million people then? We know it's not because Hamas were stealing all of the aid, so why? Do you think they are too thick to realise what happens when people have no food?
