I guess they have to wait. They can’t risk it if it’s not working to assess properly.

i know you say urgently btw but there’s not really a way around it, the system needs to work.

Yes which a reasonable and fair position to take. My issue with this thread is that it is being used to negatively stereotype Palestinians.

Twiglets1 · 02/08/2025 11:25

Are you turning against France now too @ComeAsYouAreAsAFriend ?

Add them to the list of awful countries (including the UK) that are part of the problem.

France was the greatest thing since sliced bread, last week.

This thread exists because an antisemitic has carried out their bigotry, in a host country. It doesn't matter about the delicate tendencies of westerners, towards this particular incident. The far reaching consequences of more of the same happening, outweighs the usual virtuous signalling from the UK suburbs. I'm amazed France has had the balls to act on this. No doubt it will end up becoming the UK's problem. No thanks. Egypt and Jordan's stance on evacuation still is not getting through, is it.

Not sure why some of you find it so difficult to understand that most people don't agree with every decision or policy of a government.
As I said before, very odd

So you didn't find it great when France recognised Palestine, as a state?

Which is wrong and they'll be punished for it. It doesn't serve any of us well if we are all to be punished for the actions of our compatriots. I'm sure you'd agree with that but make exceptions for Palestinians

ComeAsYouAreAsAFriend · 02/08/2025 11:09

That's not what I'm saying, that is what is being used as the reason the French government has suspended Gazan evacuations. Would you like if this was used as a reason for suspending you from entering other countries? I mean less face it all of us have fellow countrymen that are racists, criminals, rapists etc etc.

Thats disingenuous though isnt it, because as a whole, the Palestinian position is largely supportive of Hamas and its aim is to annihilate Israel as as state.

Its not the same as me being British and another British person being a rapist. We dont have a charter or political aim in Britain to legalise rape.

As I said, why should France, in its humanitarian duty, be responsible for the risk of collective antisemitism? That exactly what will happen, if they don't pause on the evacuation plan.

How do you know who's Hamas and who isn't? If the IDF can't tell, forgive me, but how on earth should you know?

Yes I was happy with that development. What's your point? As I've already explained (once again for the people at the back)
most people don't agree with every decision or policy of a government.

Twiglets1 · 02/08/2025 12:04

Yes you have and “turning against” something is hardly inflammatory language.

In my view it is.

Definitions of 'turn against'
If you turn against someone or something, or if you are turned against them, you stop supporting them, trusting them, or liking them. [...

Pretty inflammatory for what is essentially disagreeing with a government decision

Here's a crazy thing, some posters on these threads support what Israel are doing in Gaza but don't support the illegal settlers or the words of the right wing ministers or Netanyahu I mean it's mind blowing right?

And all of Hamas are Palestinian.

So disingenuous in the extreme to look away from the link.

Nice try. The UK hasnt elected a terrorist organisation to govern. The Palestinians chose Hamas and elected them.

France doesn't seem to care about the risk to French Arabs by letting Israelis in? 5 mins on twitter or the Israel subreddit will give you plenty of racist, disgusting views from Israelis to screenshot. The majority of Israelis want to ethnically cleanse Palestinians, a shocking amount of them want every man, woman and child killed if polls are to be believed. Just last week there was a video of a cruise ship of Israelis chanting 'Death to Arabs'. Does that mean you would support a blanket ban on visas for Israelis?

The Israeli government who were voted in by Israelis just a few years ago arm terrorist gangs in Gaza and aid violent illegal settlers in murder, in fact they voted in a convicted terrorist supporter who has been open about his wish to starve children. It's quite a worryingly laissez-faire attitude to terrorism and humanity. So should countries think twice about allowing Israelis in?

I was clear earlier, my thread got deleted.
For good reason if you can't discuss this without negatively stereotyping a whole group of people the issue is with you.

I can’t be arsed with having to respawn, so will remain cryptic.
Don't worry we know exactly what you mean. Your feelings about Palestinians are clear for us all to see

As are your feelings towards Israelis. Touché.

You're not getting the nuance but there's little point me trying to explain. I don't think you want to understand how people can support a country (& it's right when attacked to go to against the group attacking it) but not support everything their government does, such as withholding humanitarian aid from civilians and allowing "settlers."

No, Hamas is a political entity. The Palestinians are the population. Are you saying Palestinians dont support the wider aims of Hamas, are they at odds with the overal aims of Hamas?

Oh I see we are in Alice in Wonderland territory again where the truth is what people view it as and not what seems plain to see - in this example that I'm using inflammatory language.

Well it works for Trump - the truth is what he says it is apparently.
