Many of you will already have read about this. Paediatric specialist Dr Alaa al-Najjar was on duty when the bodies of nine of her 10 children were received by her in the hospital, after a strike in Khan Younis hit her home.

This report just stopped me in my tracks. I don't know what to say beyond this. I cannot stop thinking about this poor woman tonight.

er children killed by a strike in Khan Younis. Guardian link

The still existence of Hamas and it's ideology has been conveniently airbrushed out of the current narrative as papers like the Guardian wish us to view every Palestinian as a victim which is patently not true. We have no accounts of individual contact between the IDF and Hamas which have resulted in 900 IDF deaths as part of press are not reporting a war but want to drive the genocide narrative without reflection.

4/5 of Gaza has been declared a combat/Evacuation zone. It's almost impossible for over 2 million people to fit in the the tiny one fifth that doesn't even have all the essential infrastructure needed for life let alone space.

Some of the posts on here essentially blaming the parents for the deaths of their children after Israel bombed their home and killed them are disgusting.

I can't believe what I'm reading.

Whatsinanamehey · 27/05/2025 16:58

On another thread someone said along the lines of not even pro-Israeli posters would stoop so low to say such a thing about this tragedy but here we are. It seems there is no low that some will consider when remarking on the deaths of Palestinian children and the grief of their parents.

Do you think you are helping your cause by posting this sort of heinous rhetoric? You do more damage than any Pro-Palestinian can, when people see how little humanity you have. I have been on this board long enough to know these comments often come from those who have no skin in the game.

Glamghirl · 27/05/2025 16:58

I am horrified at the amount of women on here still justifying Israel's sadistic, tortuous genocide. Sick.

ComeAsYouAreAsAFriend · 27/05/2025 17:09

@AIBUHere your post disgusts me. I hope it doesn't get reported so people can see how low people will go to try and justify what Israel is doing. Blaming a mother for the murder of her children and claiming with no evidence that Palestinians are sacrificing their own children. Disgusting racist repeating dehumanising Israeli propaganda shameful

What's this post got to do with the bombing and death of Dr Alaa al-Najjar 9 children? Just a disgraceful derail attempt.

wish us to view every Palestinian as a victim which is patently not true
So which of the dead children that this thread is discussing are not victims?

Please explain how what I’ve posted is heinous rhetoric.

Are you saying the videos I posted are not true?

Why is showing an, albeit very inconvenient, truth regarded as a ‘stoop so low’ in your mind?

Do you not wish to discuss this then?

I would say it should be a very important discussion point for people who care about the lives of Palestinian children.

I do, don’t you?

Would you care if British Christians indoctrinated their children to want to fight and kill immigrants from other religions, and openly said they would sacrifice them, because it’s their land?

AIBUHere · 27/05/2025 17:23

Ah so it was deleted!

Shame on you MN.

A VERY inconvenient truth.

Whatsinanamehey · 27/05/2025 17:32

@AIBUHere im absolutely not going to engage further with you. Please take a hard look at why you think it's appropriate to victim blame this mother for the deaths of her children.

Where are your credible sources that Palestinian parents are sacrificing their children? And no a few YouTube videos will not suffice. I would also suggest you look up what martyrdom means in the Muslim faith because I don't think it means what you think it does.

The relationship between the post and the death of Dr Alaa al-Najjar 9 children, is that it is pointing out that Hamas exist. The relevance of Hamas's existence is that they started this war, in which those children died.

IDF under orders of the Israeli government bombed and killed those children, the poster suggested that not all victims are innocent so I'll wait for the poster to come back to answer my query as to which of the children aren't innocent

No, I read that post to be saying that Palestinians are not necessarily innocent, and the reference to the >900 dead soldiers was to demonstrate the truth of this. You are just looking for a villain by saying that the poster was saying that the children were not innocent which would be a ridiculous comment.

I would add that you are deflecting in your attempts to ignore the reality that Hamas started this war on October 07 through barbarism and rape.

The blitz on London was never described as genocide even by those who suffered. By definition air campaigns can never be truly accurate and civilians tragically lose their lives. This does not been people have been murdered as there was no deliberate attempt to kill these specific people. That is why we have to be so careful when using the word genocide as the immediate public connotation is with the Holocaust which indeed was a genocide.

As said upthread, I was taught by one of the professors in the article above.

One of his lessons was the genocide denial playbook, and this is like, page one of that playbook.

As are many of the posts on this thread.

No, it is saying that people dying in war doesn't equal genocide unless certain conditions are met. Those conditions are not that people like you really really really really don't like one side and think it is genocide.

What was the relevance of this on a thread about dead children? 900 soldiers killed in combat is pretty low for a conflict this intense.

I am not deflecting anything on this thread. I have not attempted to ignore the reality of Hamas I am well aware of it but you seem hell bent on ignoring the topic of this thread so I won't add to your attempt to change the topic any further so will stop engaging on this.

It is disingenuous to claim that this post is only about the children without any reference to the war in which they died.

The thread is in the conflict in the middle east section we don't need to be spoonfed on the context in which they died. You have come on this thread, from the beginning, to continually steer things away from the subject matter without once expressing any sadness for these children's deaths, and you call me disingenuous.

TakeMe2Insanity · 27/05/2025 18:49

The deflection and genocide denial on this thread is disgusting. Shame on pro Israeli parrots.

mids2019 · 27/05/2025 20:01

The children of course are innocent and the deaths are tragic. This does not take away from the fact Hamas fighters are being killed in large number and this is underpreorted. The overall narrative can look like the bombing is completely indsicriminate with the aim of just killing as many Palestinains as possible which it patently is not.
