I don't understand how it's known how they died.
I think speculating on how a person died is against MN talk guidelines but does anyone know what % of certainty we can have in the reports ?

@whatwouldyoudoifisangoutofkey just saw your response. It's your thread. You can direct it or not engage with it.

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 22:08

@Stirabout

Depends on your sources I guess.

The Jerusalem post posted the words from his first interview today ( 6pm ish I think).

It seems that’s another version……
It seems a bit of a pic and mix really .

Perhaps with all the inflammatory speak in this news area we’ll have to wait to see if any of these words actually came out of any family members mouths.

What's this to do with The Bibas family?

RTFT. I didn’t start this line of narrative …

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 22:31

@Stirabout I am interested in your thoughts about today's debacle and how you think the optics look for Hamas? Given you said earlier they clearly care about it?

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 22/02/2025 22:34

Evil - to pretend to return Shiri, along with her sons Ariel and Kfir.

There is no way that was an accident, it was deliberate.
as proven by how quickly Sheri was returned once it was announced that it was not Sheri in the first place.

So so many people had hoped, and prayed, for a different conclusion to their kidnap.

Oct 7th should never ever have happened.

RIP Sheri, Ariel and Kfir Bibas.

Seriously, this is deranged in its level of cruelty.

" Hamas released a propaganda video showing two hostages - Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Evyatar David - sitting in a van, watching as other hostages were freed earlier today. In the footage, Guy and Evyatar beg to be rescued."

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 23:20

@ArtTheClown all in the direct view on the Red Cross who did absolutely nothing about it.

I will never donate a single cent to the ICRC or Amnesty International again.

Horrific, I'm so so angry and heartbroken at this and the Bibas family.

I've already said that I think I was insensitive to start thus thread .
I don't want to make it worse by going into the detail that would explain why I thought a post mortem would be difficult to carry out.
Arttheclown answered my question in about the fifth post on this thread .

Yes, it was insensitive but I think you knew that before you started the thread. I know threads about almost everything get derailed, but most OPs don't post with that intention. I think you did, after all, you declared this to be true "on the whole derailments are really very normal."
Once you saw the way the thread was going, if you truly realised only then how insensitive it was, you could have asked for it to be deleted. Instead, you came to the defence of a poster that was being deliberately provocative.

whatwouldyoudoifisangoutofkey · 23/02/2025 07:01

@BeckyAMumsNet I'd be grateful if you could delete this thread .

I do feel with hindsight that I was mistaken in posting in the first place but it was a genuine question .

Now the posters have moved away from @Baital who has left the thread they are turning their ire on me,imagining motives and finding me guilty of goodness knows what.
The thread has become a vehicle for posters to accuse others ,( including moderators on MN)of being against Israel and Jews.

That seems to be the main interest .I shall report this post repeating my request for deletion .

......and the conclusion to your ghoulish speculation is that Israel is at fault not the psychopaths who abducted them, (killed her parents in cold blood, tormented her husband...) ????

What rubbish.

I was asking a poster to explain if their description of how they were killed had a source or was a hypothesis.

Yes, Israel was at fault for what they did regarding Shiri Bibas and her babies. No, it does not mean the people who abducted and murdered them are not at fault!

Where does your logic tell you my saying Israel was at fault regarding this family, and linking reports pointing out what Israel had done (including by an Israeli paper), mean I am saying that the people who captured and murdered them are not at fault?

ScrollingLeaves · 23/02/2025 07:33

ArtTheClown · 22/02/2025 10:08

@ScrollingLeaves it's interesting that you're regurgitating Hamas propaganda while sneakily trying to cast doubt on Israeli pathology findings.

Not a good look, tbh.

Also, your sources:
"Middle Eastern Eye - Controversies. The website is accused by governments of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain of supporting the political campaign of the Muslim Brotherhood by creating biased news that supported the Muslim Brotherhood."

Edited

What Hamas propaganda?

What casting of doubt on Israeli pathology findings: I asked you @ArtTheClown
for the source of your very detailed description of exactly how the children were killed, because as I said I had not found a similar report full of the anatomical details you wrote anywhere.

That does not mean I do not think the children were not killed by the Al Mujahadin.

As for Israel choosing to not to disclose the fact that the family were dead since last November the article about that I linked first was Ynet which is Israeli.

Did you read it? It does not seem as though you did.

CerealPosterHere · 23/02/2025 07:35

It’s just so heartbreaking. I couldn’t sleep last night and was pondering why are some hostages still alive and some were murdered…was it harder for the terrorists to look after/deal with small children who may have been scared and crying so they just decided to kill them. Heartbreaking.

I imagine so, sadly. Small children are difficult hostages as they cry, can’t understand instructions, and can’t perform for propaganda videos. They also can’t go without food for as long as adults.

I’m honestly confused about the food chain supply situation in Gaza. Not one person on video this week, Hamas or the public, appeared underweight or in any way malnourished? As Nick Ferrari said, they looked like they could go 80 minutes on a rugby field.

EsmaCannonball · 22/02/2025 17:48

I said on another thread that this board brings out the most contemptible people on Mumsnet and I stand by that.

None of the Israeli hostages have been killed by airstrikes. Three were killed after being mistaken for Hamas terrorists by the IDF and the rest were murdered by their captors (e.g. the ones who were held as human shields for Yahya Sinwar and then executed when they were no longer needed). We know that Hamas have lied about hostages being alive when they were dead and dead when they were alive. We know they lied about Shiri Bibas being in that first coffin. We know they have forced hostages to be filmed as if they have died in an airstrike.

Hamas propaganda is almost laughably shameless but what is truly disturbing about it is the willingness of the media to parrot their narrative without any investigation of their claims and the willingness of Western people to swallow and repeat blatant lies because they would rather look stupid but righteous than acknowledge their own glee at Jewish people being treated sadistically.

I couldn't agree more. I'm so angry and sad today. I'm not often on this board because it's too upsetting to keep seeing it and I think I will have to back off again.

Praying for an end to this hatred and all the suffering unleashed by it.

Shiri. Kfir. Ariel. 🙏

I think after the constant questioning of Israel and how they have dealt with things eg statements made after Oct 7th/ sexual assault not being taken seriously/ the return of hostages both dead and alive that Israel will be very aware they have to get this right.

Given it's only been a matter of days/ hours since the correct bodies were returned and there is very obvious signs when a clear cause of death is arrived at then I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

They have said they have handed over and worked with international agencies (I assume so they aren't called into question)

It just disturbs me that your first questions about this event is about percentages and cause of death. That leads me to believe you neither care nor are bothered about the level of trauma this has caused in Israel (and elsewhere in the world)

They don't owe you an explanation. This line of faux questioning makes people upset and angry. Both time and empathy are needed.

And this. Completely agree.

maboardhen · 23/02/2025 10:28

Regardless of the death cause ( and I'm not saying that isn't important because it very much is ) it is the SPECTACLE that Hamas created that is revolting and disgusting. The display of the coffins in the manner they did - the whole thing was revolting! Why could they not have handed these people back in a decent way ? They further denigrated these people in this way. It's fucking atrocious.

I’ve noticed that too. Not just Hamas, it was to be expected that they’d look after themselves. But all the onlookers also look happy and healthy.

Well Hamas have successfully got their prisoner release cancelled with their moronic antics.

Sadly i guess that may have an impact on the remaining Israeli hostages.
