@rugrets then you should know more than most how comments such as that turn into victim blaming. I don't know if you mean it but it reads like you think it's Israel's fault? Do you think this?

I'm genuinely sad that you see fit to double down on such comments. Please - this thread is not the place for it.

The focus is on Shiri, tiny Ariel and baby Ofir - taken by Hamas, held by Hamas, deprived of their childhood by Hamas, murdered by Hamas and returned to Israel as bodies. Mourned by anyone with a heart 🧡🎗

Poor little children and their mum … I’m heartbroken for the family but especially for the mum Shiri she endured hell on earth and while doing that had 2 little baby's to protect and care for … May she and her beloved boys rest in peace ..

mommyfinger · 20/02/2025 07:55

Photos in today's news - poor innocent children. I have two young children similiar ages, it's gut wrenching to think how the mother felt trying to protect her babies.

ArtTheClown · 20/02/2025 09:11

I honestly thought they'd at least release these bodies discreetly. But no, whatever I think of Hamas and their fans, they're lower than I can conceptualise. Absolute orcs.

I remember the youngest boy’s photo being very widely circulated when they were taken.

Just such terrible, heartbreaking news to read now. I just put my own son to bed who I think is a similar age to how old that little one would be. It hits different now for me, now that I have a child. They’re so helpless, innocent.

I rarely become impacted by the news as much as this.

How in the world do people seem to pick sides in this awful, ugly, horrendous war? It seems like everyone sides with one or the other. All I see is the absolute worst of humanity. No winners here, just dead babies. Sickened.

I remember multiple incidents of Palestine supporters defacing posters of the Bibas children by scrawling swastikas on their heads or Hitler moustaches on their faces. I remember terrible people ripping the posters down. Those people are a disgrace and don't deserve to live in the West.

I guess the interesting things is that if you started a thread about Palestinian civilians being killed, I wouldn't feel the need to post an opposing 'yeah but...'. Quite weird that you can't read about a mother and two children (as well as an 80+ year old peace activist, as an aside) being kidnapped from their homes and killed, without feeling the need to present some kind of counter point...

verysmellyjelly · 20/02/2025 09:36

Those poor, poor children, and their desperate mother. I've thought of them so often since 7th October. Hamas are pure evil. God knows how their Western supporters continue to justify their stance.

Yarden's suffering is quite literally unimaginable to me.

I agree.

Poor peace loving family.

How anyone can describe what was done on October 7th as 'resistance' is disgusting. This family did nothing wrong. What was done to them and others was not resistance it was pure evil.

May they rest in peace and may Yarden be surrounded by love. Never forgotten.

I’m heartbroken and utterly sickened, the terrorists standing over the coffins of babies they slaughtered. I do not understand this world!

I pray that Yarden is surrounded by love and kindness for the rest of his days. And that some sort of healing can take place .

Horrific....I wonder what all the sheep who marched each week think of this?

I wouldn’t bother they will just say it’s sad but…..

@VolcanoJapan You are absolutely right. No one can legitimately claim that killing little babies, young children barely out of toddlerhood, and innocent mothers just trying to care for their children is "resistance".

And the cruel psychological warfare against the whole nation from keeping their bodies so long is not to be underestimated either. I find it breathtaking, to be honest, that so many people are still vocally standing up for Hamas. Not trying to be political or anything, it's just that the sorrow of this is so bitter and so deep, after hoping against hope that they were against all the odds being held alive for "bargaining chips". I suppose I knew they weren't, but I still hoped.

Oded Lifshitz deserved so much better, too. Clearly a loving and compassionate man who wanted to help his Gazan neighbours, and was not moved by hate and wanted to share Israel's resources. Repaid with nothing but cruelty.

Thank you for adding that the body of Oded was also returned.

Totally agree. Peaceful people that helped others.

I've just been watching the news and am utterly horrified. There is no humanity at all. Parading them like this.
How can anyone support this kind of regime or justify these actions?
Horrifying. 💛

The parading is repulsive.

I wish there was a march through central London protesting about the atrocities committed by Hamas - I'd join in! There won't be.

And when the Israelis return the Palestinian prisoners as their end of the deal you don't get thousands of Israelis harassing, humiliating and jeering the returnees even though many of them are terrorists, murderers and torturers.

I know. I just couldn't believe the recent scenes. I'm genuinely disgusted by it.
