Did hamas even think before planning 7th October (over many, many months) that it would not be the best course of action!

dairydebris · 03/02/2025 17:11

Shame on Hamas for bringing this war to their people and utterly failing to provide for their safety before, during and after.

Lalaloveya · 03/02/2025 17:15

In case there's confusion, these deaths were caused by the IDF, mainly their bombing campaign.

@dairydebris Even if anybody wanted to fund an iron dome for Gaza, I expect it would be useless against 2000lb bombs.

BelleHathor · 03/02/2025 17:17

Just ignore the "but Hamas" people, the deaths and mass graves being discovered will forever be a stain on humanity. In the future all decent people will rightly judge those that made excuses.

Nope. These deaths were part of a war that Hamas started on 7th October.

They weren't killed by the IDF then? So who killed them?

Majority were Hamas then? They seem u able to break down their figures

nocoolnamesleft · 03/02/2025 17:30

Hamas committed their terrorist atrocity on October 7th precisely in the hope of precipitating Israel into a major assault. Yes, Israel went too far, but this is exactly what Hamas wanted. It's a shame that neither side gives a flying fuck about civilians in Gaza.

kelsaycobbles · 03/02/2025 17:30

Yes they were killed by Israeli forces

Yes it was part of a long running tit for tat where Traditionally every Israeli death was returned with 10 Palestinian deaths

But it was the Israelis who killed people including unborn children - "oh sir she made me do it " is pathetic , the common excuse of a weak man and not something I expect to see on this site

This. Hamas planned this for years - and totally failed to plan at all to protect Palestinian civilians in the war that the deliberately provoked.

And every one of those people were murdered by the IDF, innocent women and babies, shame shame shame

Halbiiamz · 03/02/2025 17:35

Every one of those deaths is on Hamas. Although I suspect they have got exactly what they wanted. They don't care about civilians - Israel cares more about Gazan civilians, hence all the warnings given. It's a war and unfortunately that means deaths but I think the combatant to civilian death rate in Gaza is very low compared to other similar wars.

Israel doesn't give one fuck about Gaza

You fail to mention that some people actually care about the tens of thousands of murdered civilians. Maybe it didn't occur to you?

I posted this because I care. Your comment about "Jew hate" is revolting.

Sorry I thought it was the Israeli army who killed over 60,000 people ?

Israel

Israel doesn't give one fuck about Gaza

Perhaps Israel does give one fuck about Gaza. Perhaps it just gives 2 fucks about Israelis, you know, traditionally, it's own citizens.
It's down to Hamas, the actual government of Gaza, to give fucks about its own civilians.
Something it has spectacularly failed to do, because it sees them as necessary sacrifices.
Save your ire for Hamas.

Dulra · 03/02/2025 17:49

Shocking figures. 17,881 children killed in 14 months that is 1277 children killed every month. It is horrific. May they rest in peace

It is of little wonder Netanyahu has been charged with crimes against humanity.

Of course it's down to Hamas to care about its own citizens, but Hamas didn't murder one of those innocent people caught up in this conflict, the IDF did that, every single one, while also spectacularly failing to wipe out Hamas which they had vowed to do, so what was it all for?

So why was Israel killing the Palestinians before Hamas existed? Murdering men, women, children and unborn babies, allowing settlers to illegally displace people and steal their homes? Preventing children getting medical treatment, rationing food, destroying educational resources? You can keep repeating the "it's Hamas" but nobody is believing this for one second.

Yes that's probably true but what makes you think it means the IDF are free to kill over 60,000 of them because Hamas doesn't care about them?. That's not how things work civilians are not fair game because their government don't care. Your lack of empathy for dead children is pretty revealing.

kelsaycobbles · 03/02/2025 17:52

Israel's actions over the decades , their dehumanising of Palestinians has enabled a landscape where anti Israel terrorists can thrive

This is not excusing Hamas or thinking their actions have been in any way justified

But killing over 60,000 people and then blaming someone else is sick

You really cannot deny that without October 7th Hamas (and others) attacking, raping, murdering and kidnapping this wouldn't have occurred. Their ill advised but celebrated attack brought this conflict on. No one would could possibly pretend otherwise, surely .
