Tel Aviv under attack from at least eight rockets fired from Rafah in Gaza

Hamas's military wing claimed responsibility for the attack on Sunday, according to Press Association.

What happened after by Israeli airstrikes was truly terrible - a real tragedy.

But why are Hamas still firing rockets deliberately at a residential city with no combatants.
As long as Hamas are in power rockets will never stop. Plus all the Aid Britain and America are giving just goes straight to Hamas. They started the war haven’t released the hostages and have no intention of surrendering.
The UN orders Israel to stop fighting.
But Hamas are free to continue their attacks.
Makes sense to someone I guess...........

This will only be solved by all parties and their friends sitting round a table and talking.

Talking about a ceasefire.
Talking about hostage releases on both sides.
Talking about the day after.

That would be ideal, but how can it be done?

There have been attempts to find a 2 state solution in the past, in fact (as far as I can understand it) there has been significant feeling on both sides that they don't want to agree to this.

There are parties on both sides who think that the entire area should belong to one side or the other. And vested interests.

The settlers would want to keep their settlements, and Hamas have a charter that is pretty hostile to Jewish people, in principle.

Deliberately starting a war was a big mistake from the perspective of the Gazan civilians, but I guess Hamas are doing quite well in "winning the social media war" as they put it. They don't seem to be doing much to make for peace- they still have hostages, for example.

I would rather they stopped the atrocities they are committing in Palestine, stop the genocide they are committing, stop stop stop. Pure and simple just stop

No genocide .

Mistakes? Yes
Intention? No
Hamas using human shields? Yes
Hamas started it and wanted this? Yes
People protesting against Hamas in Gaza or London? No
Does the Gazan administration want to destroy Israel? Yes

Hamas -,lay down your arms and surrender. Then the dismantling of Hamas will stop.

and totally one sided POV. Who is our GOvt? The UK?

Yup spineless- allowing the anti-Semitism and allowing marches in the UK.

Otherwise, it is not the UK's war is it? It is Israel's very existence that is being threatened

I won't be cowed by the anti semitic argument anymore. You can sing it till the cows come home and it doesn't make it true. I know what is in my heart and it isn't hatred for Jewish people.

Read a book. Listen what the Israeli government is saying. Watch the videos of children in tents being burned alive by "the world's most moral army".

It is your choice to defend a genocide.

Not clearly a genocide. A war till judged otherwise. A war started by Hamas.

Hmm that could apply to a lot of people supporting Hamas by default on here.

This 100 %.

By the way, good luck Arsenal for the Premier League title next season - you will do it after Man City's relegation. Sorry to derail!

Loads of anti -_Semitism in the UK and the Govt allowing it with 2 tier policing.

I mean, it really is scraping the barrel at this point to try and portray Israel as victims.

And I can't for the life of me see why the apologists continue to pretend this all started on October 7th, or even with the creation of Hamas, surely they don't actually expect people to believe that? it's so easy to check.

The current war was triggered by October 7th, yes.

What would you rather Israel do? Surrender to Hamas?

This is an honest questions

I’d rather Israel stopped killing innocent men, women and children. I’d rather Israel stopped occupying Palestinian land.

I would rather Gazans protested against Hamas.

I would rather the world demand that Hamas lay down their arms.

I would rather that Israel was left in peace.

@Gunnersforthecup hundreds of Palestinians were dying in 2023 before Oct 7 (and of course many more in totality before 2023), I know that doesn't count in the eyes of Israel because they were Palestinians, but my question was why do people expect non-Israelis to disregard that? why would everyone else turn a blind eye and think that there was a clean slate before Oct 7th simply because that suits Israel? That's so arbitrary.

How can Gazan’s protest when their children’s heads are being cut off in front of them whilst they’re being bombed every day?

Whilst American Jewish influencers prance about Israel (which according to you is so dangerous) making TikTok’s

I think you’re furious about the wrong things here. Israel IS being left in peace, enough for people to holiday there.

WhatTheFudge0 · 28/05/2024 13:28

I'd rather Israel just get the hell out of Gaza and West Bank, remove the blockades, agree to the proposed borders of a 2 state solution as per UN resolution, return the 9,500 Palestinian men, women, elderly & child hostages that they have been abusing in their prisons and detention centres....and leave the Palestinians the f* alone.
If that were to actually happen, the Israeli hostages would be released and rockets from Hamas would cease.

Israel is the occupying force and has persecuted Palestinians for over 75 years.....this is the sole reason Hamas exists....to resist.
Under international law they have the right to resist.

So it's really that uncomplicated - freedom for Palestinian.

Hamas -,lay down your arms and surrender. Then the dismantling of Hamas will stop.

You honestly think that the children who manage to survive this genocide will grow up unscathed and indifferent to the slaughter of their family and the decimation of their homeland?

I remain stunned at how many fail to understand how the likes of Hamas are created. I can guarantee that if I saw my children blown to bits, family and friends massacred by bombs and my homeland razed to the ground by an ideology that viewed me as little more than a rat, I would be of reasonable mind.

So Israel's fault that Hamas was created.

Anti-Semitic trope.

There wasn't a war with several hundred (or more) people dying every week before October 7th.

There was, afterwards.

So October 7th was significant, wasn't it?

Yes, I regard the 10s of thousands of people who died since then as pretty significant.

No I am not Jewish.

Israel are not occupying Gaza!

You and the UN and various other international bodies disagree.

So how would you describe the long blockade of Gaza by land, sea and air?
