That man who was shot, then tried to get up and keep carrying that sack instead of trying to just save himself, then fell down again, and again struggled back up with the sack, only to fall again …..where on the ground he was shot at again and again until he was dead! It is awful and like a nightmare.

What was the point? What would the IDF say they were doing?

*Could^ it possibly, by any chance, be one of their own wanting to get the aid sacks for themselves due to starvation and a breakdown of all order?

There is footage on Al-Jazeera which shows IDF troops waiting nearby. The IDF vehicles and Palestinians collecting food do not appear in the same shot but I think it would be very damaging to Al Jazeera's credibility to use fake or manipulated footage to support their claim that the IDF are responsible. Al Jazeera have a pro Palestinian bias but I haven't caught them lying yet.

Yes it’s funny how these things happen at just the right time.

Let’s hope for a domino effect.

BBC Verify article on how it's going so far.

Thank you, that is interesting to read as the reports of numbers of deaths and details about tunnels are confusing.

This is surprising to learn about the IDF list. It is a small detail in the scheme of things but you would think the IDF would be punctilious about being as accurate as possible.
We [Verify] also found duplicate names in the list, which we have discounted from the total.

Another murder of a Palestinian at the hands of Israelis.

Israeli Troops Shoot and Kill a Palestinian Shepherd Reading the Quran on His Land

*Three soldiers pounce on a shepherd sitting outside his sheep pen. They knock him over and then one of them shoots him to death at point-blank range. Fakher Jaber, a father of four, was suspected of involvement in an incident that probably never happened.

The widow, Maryam, brings out a tattered plastic bag. She carefully pulls out its contents – everything she found in her dead husband's pockets: a bag containing a few 5-shekel coins; a cheap, bloodstained watch that is still working; a cellphone with a bullet hole in it; a tattered wallet and a Quran. The cover and the pages of the tiny volume are also bloodstained; there's a bookmark still inside it. It is Ramadan, and Fakher Jaber had been reading from it before the soldiers showed up.

That's awful @ScrollingLeaves. Even if he was suspected of committing a crime, doesn't make him guilty of it and should be given a fair trial.

Theres just no words to the endless torture the Palestinians have had to suffer.

Yes, if he really was a suspect, there were three soldiers, so they could have arrested him and he could have had a fair trial.

Bear in mind that it is an Israeli journalist writing that the incident he was supposed to be involved in probanly never happened.

Now that IDF have withdrawn from Khan Younis people are 'streaming' out of Rafah to return to their homes there

Khan Younis ‘destroyed beyond recognition’

We’re looking at more than 90 percent of the city destroyed, not only residential homes but also public facilities, the roads – entire areas have been destroyed beyond recognition.

We were told by some residents of the eastern part of Khan Younis they could not recognise the streets where they lived all their lives.

Is this Israel's attempt at 'evacuating' Rafah?

Is this Israel's attempt at 'evacuating' Rafah?

Israel posted a tender for 40,000 tents just before Easter.
https://www.israeltoday.co.il/read/idf-begins-isolating-rafah-orders-40000-tents/

There is speculation they are buying the tents for Gazans with a plan to evacuate Palestinians to a tent encampment, a sort of camp where civilians can be segregated in a concentrated small area for their own safety while they go into Rafah.

That is monstrous. Islam and Judaism share many things in common, including a recognition of the importance of burial of the dead. To leave a child's body unburied, to decompose in the open, would be abhorrent. How reliable is the chain of reporting? I can't face looking into that myself...

Imagine if there was an AI system that identified people responsible for instigating mass murder. I wonder who would be on the list.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/05/top-israeli-spy-chief-exposes-his-true-identity-in-online-security-lapse

“The IDF says its AI systems are intended to assist human intelligence officers, who are required to verify that military suspects are legitimate targets under international law.” They were not doing this according to the article by the +927 magazine - the IDF only spent 20s verifying each AI generated target - and to only check they were not female.

“Such a targets machine, he said, would draw on complex models that make predictions built “on lots of small, diverse features”, listing examples such as “people who are with a Hezbollah member in a WhatsApp group, people who get new cellphones every few months, those who change their addresses frequently”.

How does / would the IDF get this amount of information on anyone?! The degree of surveillance required- especially to supposedly encrypted apps such as WhatsApp- is astounding.

It is a huge shame they have relied on this fancy surveillance rather than what traditional methods - both for preventing 7/10 as well as preventing huge number of innocent deaths of Palestinians.

All too well.

I just can't face looking through the chain of reporting for reliability... Not again...

As another poster said, surely this is against the burial rules of Islamic cultures?

Somebody/bodies have been very remiss there?

It is completely contrary to Islamic burial customs. We bury our dead as soon as possible. My DC1 was buried the day after they died.

Those babies look to have been left by the IDF to decompose, with no compassion for the torment that will cause their families.
