Israeli media shared new pictures of dozens of men including elderlies, claiming that they were kidnapped in Khan Yunis, Gaza.

All men appear blindfolded, handcuffed, and numbered. Several Israeli sources said that they were extrajudicially executed.

So where was this shown on 'Israeli Media' ?

More deliberate destruction

Often civilians suffer in wars, what is your point?

Parkingt111 · 08/02/2024 07:58

Yesterday, Blinken gave a press conference in Israel where he once again said the civilian death toll is far too high and followed it up with extremely harsh critique that 'Israel cannot use October 7th as a license to dehumanise others'
Is this the secretary of state openly saying that the Palestinians have been dehumanised by the Israeli government?

Parkingt111 · 08/02/2024 08:02

In genocide studies, dehumanization is commonly understood as a preparatory step on the path to mass killing.

Interestingly that that was what the Nazis did to the Jews.

I'm still waiting for the poster to come back to me about the Qeds post....

showmethegin · 08/02/2024 08:16

Yes it was. Never again means never again for ANYONE

anotherfatyorkie · 08/02/2024 08:18

@Parkingt111 Blinken also said this ,

Early in his remarks, Blinken blasted Hamas, calling it “an enemy whose leaders surround themselves with hostages,” and saying it is “an enemy that has declared publicly its goal to kill as many innocent civilians as it can, simply because they’re Jews, and to wipe Israel off the map.”
“That’s why we’ve made clear that Israel is fully justified in confronting Hamas and other terrorist organizations,” Blinken insisted. “That’s why the United States has done more than any country to support Israel’s right to ensure that October 7 never happens again.”

Sadly some groups didn't get that memo.

Darfur Genocide 2003 - ongoing 98,000+ dead.
Yazidis Massacred by Islamic State 2014-19 2,100 dead.
Iraq/Turkman Genocide 2014-17 3,500 dead
Rohingya genocide 2016 - present 9,000 dead

and of course the Yemeni Civil War 2014 (ongoing) 377,000 dead, 85,000 Yemeni children dead from starvation, 4,000 dead from cholera, 4 million people displaced.
Started by the Houthis (Pals of Hamas) who displaced the legal government in 2014.

Parkingt111 · 08/02/2024 08:35

@anotherfatyorkie well I don't disagree that that atrocities of Hamas against the Israelis on October 7th were also dehumanising acts especially as they continue to hold onto hostages many of whom are vulnerable.
I don't also agree with the way this war has been conducted against the Palestinians in a indiscriminate manner which has resulted in the unjustified deaths of thousands of children and made most of Gaza uninhabitable.
It's quite possible to think of more than one thing as wrong

anotherfatyorkie · 08/02/2024 08:45

@Parkingt111 "I don't also agree with the way this war has been conducted against the Palestinians in a indiscriminate manner"

Unless you have the IDF's mission statement you can't say it's 'indiscriminate'.

"the unjustified deaths of thousands of children and made most of Gaza uninhabitable."

It is a tragic situation, but what would you have Israel do?

Hamas has inserted itself among citizens of Gaza to use as human shields.

What would you consider to be a 'proportionate response?

Parkingt111 · 08/02/2024 08:54

@anotherfatyorkie I don't need the IDF's mission statement to know its indiscriminate., infact Biden himself described the ongoing attack against Gaza as 'indiscriminate bombing'

Well I think at the minimum not repeatedly bomb Israeli designated safe zones that displaced civilians who were forced to leave their homes are sheltering in. Perhaps if they didn't do that then some of my friend's family, including a young niece would still be alive

Auvergne63 · 08/02/2024 09:07

Israel was set up by the UN and by means of international law.
Indeed and have violated every single resolution since then.
Anyway this a thread to object about the genocide of Palestinians, I suggest you start one on supporting one.

I'm not sure who this post is meant for?

Parkingt111 · 08/02/2024 09:48

@anotherfatyorkie there's alot of legitimate things you can criticise Biden over and I certainly do too but ageist remarks would not be one of them.
Anyway, I'm not interesting in arguing for the sake of arguing. It's clear that we disagree on the matter and neither of us is going to change each others minds.

sunick · 08/02/2024 10:01

No.

sunick · 08/02/2024 10:02

Don't expect them to come back.
This thread is about misinformation and scapegoating Israel.

sunick · 08/02/2024 10:07

No they haven't.
But I'd suggest that since every war in this region, including the present one, has been started by Israel's neighbours you direct your attention to the real problem here.
Those attacking Israel and those, like many on this thread, who refuse to face that fact.

Who is dropping bombs has been dropping bombs on a civilian population for 4 months now?

I repeat my earlier question you refused to answer;

How many dead children are acceptable to you? There are at least 12000 dead innocent children SO FAR. Would 50,000 be too many? How about 200,000 dead children. How many is too many?

How many thousands of rockets has Hamas fired into Israel since 7.10?
That's 7.10, before Israel took military action against Hamas.
