Do you think this photo (and others like it) are fake? Sorry to post again but no one’s answered that question.

Scirocco · 06/03/2024 07:52

This is a very serious allegation, given how much weight will need to be placed on the professionalism and expertise of the forensic pathologists and other investigators in order to achieve justice for the victims. Have there been any indicators on whether it's going to be investigated?

Honest to God, there were so many horrendous scenes on October 7th I don't understand why so many people have been found to be exaggerating and telling lies. But the consequences of those lies have been catastrophic for the people of Gaza.

PeasfullPerson · 06/03/2024 09:27

@ConnieCounter perhaps that is the answer there. It’s grim to see the aftermath of rape and sexual abuse used as a political tool. It was grim enough already.

inkworks273 · 06/03/2024 09:32

So if he lied about seeing beheaded babies what else has he lied about? I don't understand how we're supposed to trust anything Israel says at this point. These people have been caught in so many lies and yet if you dare to question them you are accused of not believing women.

PeasfullPerson · 06/03/2024 09:41

It’s depressing, the Israeli government has failed their own people by selling them a false narrative and encouraging tribal behaviour. There are people who genuinely believe that it is antisemitic to in any way criticise the Israeli government and IDF etc. There seems to be very little acceptance of a nuanced view or willingness to really examine the issues.
So many lies have been told that it’s hard to work out what the truth is, and people who are actually being targeted and suffering, will find they aren’t believed. This approach might have helped Israel in the short term, but I think the long term consequences will be much worse.

IKR? They have told so many lies that I wonder how anyone believes them anymore, but they do! Not only do people still believe them, they spread it around and report it as fact! Also, it's strange how we are accused of not believing women, when it's not from rape survivors who are coming forward, but from lying arseholes like this guy. I still remember when Cochav Elkayam-Levy tried to pass off an old photo of a dead Kurdish fighter as one of the October 7 victims. I hate how we are supposed to blindly believe this stuff, especially when it's being used to justify genocide.

PeasfullPerson · 06/03/2024 11:08

Strange isn’t it, how these men in power seem to care more about rape and sexual abuse when it’s committed by an out group, and they can use it for political means, but they don’t seem willing or able to change systems to stop it’s prevalence within their own society.

Israel seem to rely on the fact that their sensational claims like the babies baked in ovens and beheaded babies, UNWRA being Hamas, Hamas headquarters underneath hospitals etc will make headlines but then the fact that these claims are false never does. If out of the people that see these headlines 80% never see the fact that they are false the propaganda is successful and it's worth the 20% who think that they are liars. Couple that with the message that anyone who doubts Israel are just doing it because they are antisemitic it makes for really quite the successful propaganda campaign.

Children in Gaza march to demand a ceasefire before Ramadhan

Mark Twain once said, “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”

It's been a successful strategy since the Balfour Declaration was signed.

However it doesn't take into account the reaction of people who believed the assertions. People do not like being deceived and will often discount any further claims.

It also relies on being able to "control" the narrative, which was much easier when people only got their news from the MSM. Social media has changed this drastically. The IDF’S Hamas hostage schedule lie, was debunked as an Arabic Calendar within minutes.

ConnieCounter · 06/03/2024 14:24

Wow. That's powerful stuff. Such a huge loss, those beautiful children. The scale of this is just beyond comprehension. All those children.

Matt Kennard (Declassifed UK) on the similarities between Tories and Labour. Apologies, this may seem a little off topic in some ways but I think it’s relevant in the sense that if we had a proper opposition, the government would not have been able to continue supporting this genocide.

Let alone if the MSM were actually doing their job! (Apart from the few notable exceptions).

I was listening to someone from the WHO being interviewed on Irish radio today. They said that before October less then 1% of children in Gaza were malnourished. Now it is at 50% absolutely shocking increase in 4.5 months. 5 months ago the majority of children were healthy well fed and alive 💔

The BBC have an article where they speak to the father of Ali, Ali is one of the babies who died from malnutrition in Northern Gaza. It's a sad and sobering read.

Please do all you can to object to the genocide of Palestinians (Thread 2)
