To find the silence about UNRWA being Hamas hypocritical

I entirely understand the discomfort seeing images coming out of Gaza; but what I don’t get is those who choose to post about it on social media or campaign expressing their horror but being totally SILENT after October 7th (before Israeli had even responded), after evidence of the sexual violence suffered by those murdered in Israel and now, after finding out that UNWRA who they have all been sending donations to, are actually Hamas who perpetrated the atrocities.

Where is the outrage from these people at UNRWA?

Why are none of these vocal people not screaming from the roof tops at how horrendous this is !?! If it was true you care about humanity, why aren’t you horrified to learn you’ve all been donating to an organisation so closely linked to the rape and murder of innocent civilians ? (And this isn’t the first time unrwa has been linked to Hamas; their HQ is a Hamas building and they’ve famously been linked to training terrorists in their schools / got into hot water for removing the hollocaust from their curriculum)

if you are one of those white privileged women who posts on social media about a cease fire (I’m talking to those of you who have never been to the ME, or studied ME history and never taken up the cause of any of the other global conflicts); why is your outrage so one sided and blinkered ? Why don’t you acknowledge the horrors of the Israeli/ Jewish people too ? If you’re really the virtuous person you purport to be by taking up this cause, why don’t you care ? Or do you believe what Hamas did and are doing and promising to keep doing (murder all Jews) is justified ?

Genuinely find it bewildering.

I’ve been doing quite a bit of reading in the last few months to try to gain a better understanding. I do understand why my friends feel such horror at the suffering of Palestinian civilians. I don’t understand why there is a blank refusal to accept that Hamas has played a major role in their suffering. Hamas knew that rape , murder and torture followed by keeping children and young women as hostages would lead to terrible consequences for the Palestinians. Why aren’t the hostages back with their families? Once they are back I’ll revert to my usual neutral position.
Oh - and the “groomed” thing . Yes we can all be groomed- our ideas are shaped and moulded by the things we continually hear or see. I try quite hard to listen to ideas I don’t agree with. I’m meeting with my friends tomorrow and since I’m in a minority view I have to do a lot of listening to alternative views.

ive seen schools by hate being taught in Israel schools as well. One ain’t worse than the other one.

6 people are accused (as of today) to be part of Hamas and having taking part of 7-10. You’re punishing 2.5 million people because of 6 people

And if you see any antisemitism or terrorist sympathisers be sure to report them to the authorities because you're marching for peace right?

Probably best not to confront them personally, by all accounts they can be aggressive when challenged.

I like the idea of some 'free free the hostages' banners on this march, a bit of working together for peaceful compromise. For some reason I don't think it will go down well sadly.

I believe that both the Israeli government and Hamas have played a role in the suffering of innocent civilians.

The issues that led to this did not begin on October 7th.

What about the Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons? Do these hostages not also deserve to go home? Or to whatever wasteland is left of it.

I would like to see both groups of hostages reunited with their families.

Also, I didn’t question the concept of grooming or need it explained to me. I am fully aware of the idea.

What I asked was this…

Can I please ask why you believe they have been groomed by social media? And what makes you certain that your own beliefs have not been influence by social or main stream media?

You've just contradicted yourself, you say they keep all the taxes as the aid money covers all the necessary expense so in that case they are not stealing the aid money which I think was your original point on the reason to suspend aid, and yes they very well could be independently wealthy there's a lot of very rich people on the planet

If those 6 people were also in charge of the infrastructure I mentioned they could be making a fortune marketing their time management skills, hamas is truly blessed to have them.

I think they’ve been groomed because people can end up in an echo chamber on social media.
I also think they’ve been groomed because I detect a repetitive insistence on emotive phrases - genocide, apartheid, ethnic cleansing - but a refusal to use similarly emotive language when discussing October 7th or the Hostages.
I don’t think I’ve been groomed because I don’t think that truth and justice only exists on one side of this debate.

So unwra are throwing money at schools and hospitals where hate is taught, tunnels are located, hamas operate rocket launchers from and hostages say they were held...but they have no oversight on the spending? Probably a good idea to have a pause and rethink about their strategy
Hopefully other aid agencies operating in Gaza are better managed.

Also, the hate that Israeli children are taught regarding Palestinians has been very well documented. But as usual lets reverse it and try to apply it that way.

Let's starve children and be proud about doing so! Absolutely unbelievable how some people seem to be quite proud about that one. Children are dying from preventable diseases. Hunger. But nevermind as it isn't anyone known to you so just shrug shoulders and inflict collective punishment and spread more unproven allegations
