Conflict in the Middle East

To find the silence about UNRWA being Hamas hypocritical

Muthaofcats · 28/01/2024 07:35

I entirely understand the discomfort seeing images coming out of Gaza; but what I don’t get is those who choose to post about it on social media or campaign expressing their horror but being totally SILENT after October 7th (before Israeli had even responded), after evidence of the sexual violence suffered by those murdered in Israel and now, after finding out that UNWRA who they have all been sending donations to, are actually Hamas who perpetrated the atrocities.

Where is the outrage from these people at UNRWA?

Why are none of these vocal people not screaming from the roof tops at how horrendous this is !?! If it was true you care about humanity, why aren’t you horrified to learn you’ve all been donating to an organisation so closely linked to the rape and murder of innocent civilians ? (And this isn’t the first time unrwa has been linked to Hamas; their HQ is a Hamas building and they’ve famously been linked to training terrorists in their schools / got into hot water for removing the hollocaust from their curriculum)

if you are one of those white privileged women who posts on social media about a cease fire (I’m talking to those of you who have never been to the ME, or studied ME history and never taken up the cause of any of the other global conflicts); why is your outrage so one sided and blinkered ? Why don’t you acknowledge the horrors of the Israeli/ Jewish people too ? If you’re really the virtuous person you purport to be by taking up this cause, why don’t you care ? Or do you believe what Hamas did and are doing and promising to keep doing (murder all Jews) is justified ?

Genuinely find it bewildering.

Talking about hamas I assume! They are the only ones who have total disregard for anyone else's lives

Who is this directed at?

If it's me I was referring to some posters complete lack of humanity and acknowledgement of the suffering of Palestinian people.
I am aware Hamas have complete disregard for people's lives but they are not the only ones that do

cindyhove · 01/02/2024 16:54

Sorry @Dulra I don't seem to be able to quote and reply

It has not stopped yet
UNWRA estimate they've enough to last until mid Feb.
It has been well reported and evidenced on these threads that a lot of aid is held up at the Rafah crossing and no where enough is getting through.

There are delays on this - it takes time to check lorry loads for weapons & explosives sadly.

BackandForthRoundandRound · 01/02/2024 14:03

Completely agree with you. There has been a complete lack of regard for the ongoing suffering.

I think that due to some believing that others aren't equal to them is behind an awful lot of this. Which is horrendous as we are all the same at the end of the day. We all have our hopes and dreams.... we're all human beings.

The thought of people believing that other people's lives aren't worth as much as their own, particularly when it is children, is incredibly disturbing.

Who is the "some" you refer to? Say it out loud!

BackandForthRoundandRound · 01/02/2024 08:17

"Virtue signalling narcissists" not to mention the rest of your rant....

Seems like someone doesn't like posts showing the reality of what Israel is doing in Palestine

Did that particular bit touch a nerve eh?

No, it didn't as believe me I've heard plenty worse! Sorry to disappoint...

Seeing as you have quoted my response to another poster you will be well aware of what the discussion was about.... If not then I suggest you go back to re-read

It unfortunately seems without doubt now that Hamas and UNRWA are intertwined. That the billions of dollars of aid that Western countries provided to them didn't go to the people at all, it all went to terrorists to enable them to cause chaos. Fuck them. Gaza needs aid, yes but UNWRA aren't the people to provide it....

FrozenWindscreen · 02/02/2024 00:47

It will be interesting to see how far up the UNWRA chain the 12 so far identified Hamas operatives were.

I very much doubt they were junior admin staff considering the unprecedented response of withdrawing funding. There must be incontrovertible evidence to warrant that massive step.

There have been reports going back years alleging that UNWRA has been aiding and abetting Hamas, and teaching terrorist ideology in schools. All easily googleable. Shame this wasn’t taken seriously before this current conflict started.

I don’t believe this was a ploy by Israel at all, just that they’ve finally been able to catch them in the act as it were.

It’s terrifyingly insidious that a humanitarian organisation had employees directly involved in starting a war that they would have clearly known would cause untold suffering and death to the very men, women and children they were tasked with advocating for and providing aid to.

It’s sickening to think of what Gaza could be right now had the billions of aid they have have been donated over the years actually been used to set up infrastructure, build schools, hospitals etc. apparently it’s so much money it could be the equivalent of Singapore right now.

Every penny has been siphoned off to fund war. But when jihad is the ultimate privilege to Islamist extremists I guess this is more important than knowing their children will get fed.

I would gently suggest that you stay away from Tiktok seeing how clearly it has annoyed you. (I don't see the attraction but going by your post it has clearly triggered you somewhat!)

frazzledasarock · 02/02/2024 06:02

Israel is now claiming 4 people in UNRWA were Hamas. They’ve changed their minds about the alleged number 12 they initially came up with. There is no proof anyone at UNRWA were Hamas.

Palestine was never going to be a Singapore. Israel owns the infrastructure and does not allow even the collection of rainwater, Israel restricts trade and imports including at one point, chocolate. Not likely they’d allow a thriving Palestinian economy.

counting down to how long it will take for my post to be removed by MN for containing facts.

So how did the UNWRA schools that educated 300,000 children a year( before they were blown up by Israel) operate if UNWRA funds 'didn't go to the people at all'? It is a massive claim you are making and I would really like to see your evidence for that statement.

cindyhove · 02/02/2024 07:08

Not sure where you get you alleged facts from. They are simply incorrect

Israel walked away from an established infrastructure and handed it all over when they left Gaza and it was just dug up and used by Hamas for missiles. I don’t expect you to believe what I’m saying and not should you - Just do a basic google to fact check the stuff you are saying….

Israel has openly stated it has to monitor what goes in to Gaza to attempt to avoid what happened on October 7th - given the stock piling of weapons and what happened, they clearly didn’t control this enough! Why aren’t you outraged at Egypt having to put into place the same protections around its borders? When you’re dealing with an explicitly terrorist state claiming they will keep trying to cross the border to rape and murder you, what do you want them to do?

Even UNRWA are accepting their links to Hamas. Why on Earth are you defending Hamas ? It’s bizarre.

I saw this yesterday in Twitter but couldn’t find much in the news about it so didn’t post. However , I also read about 6 and found news
https://www.newarab.com/news/israel-now-says-six-not-12-unrwa-staff-part-oct-7-attack?amp

in the Spanish media there was some news last night about Washington regretting pausing the aid and that they shouldn’t have done it

Israel now says six, not 12 UNRWA staff part of Hamas attack

Israel had claimed that 12 UNRWA employees were involved in Hamas' 7 October attack, and several countries suspended their funding to the agency in response.

I think you may be reflecting somewhat....

Muthaofcats · 02/02/2024 07:36

Ask yourself this; if you are unable to see the humanity of ALL humans affected in this horrible situation, if you can only see Gaza and have zero concern for the hostages, babies kept in tunnels, women treated like Hamas’ ‘dolls’ or the families of people raped and butchered living in fear of this happening again and again until they disappear: Why?

This thread is about the hypocrisy of people purporting to be good virtuous liberals calling for peace whilst refusing to condemn what has happened and continues to happen to the Jewish people in Israel AND the innocent civilians trapped in Gaza being used as pawns by a terrorist organisation.

if you can’t appreciate the point of this post and want to just use it as another opportunity to attack Jewish people, go ahead. And good luck.
