According to the Israeli PM. Do you believe this? And if you do, what's your background in geopolitics, level of education and religious belief. Does Hamas = Isis? Or are Hamas the equivalent of the mafia?

As much as I abhor the bombing in Gaza, is this realistic, that we protest and hope that we are not next?

And is the deterioration of western, Christian values a result of our vulnerabilities? Israel attacked, and Russia and China muscling us up on that and have taken their chances because we, the west, ARE weak. ??

Lots of wild claims about terrorism coming to U.K. shores. I think the IDF has enough on their plates destroying hospitals, inpatients, clinicians and anyone who thought they would be safe there under the usual rules of war. Unless Hamas is found to be lurking around the middle aisle of Aldi in which case they will have to bomb the crap of your whole town.

Sorry I shouldn’t laugh, but you comment 🤣🤣🤣

Hamas attacked to stop the peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, but okay.🙄

Tigerteal · 15/11/2023 13:20

Everyone’s jumped on my post but none of you have responded to my post about the lives of Palestinian children?

its very telling. Like the IDF, it is not Hamas you want gone, it is the whole Palestinian population

Tigerteal · 15/11/2023 13:25

You’re so focused on destroying Hamas and all its evil you have forgotten your humanity in all of it. Honestly we all have.

There are children in the clutches of Hamas who should be with their heartbroken mothers in Israel. Who knows if they’ll be reunited?

there are children in Gaza who’ve lost their entire families and is now an orphan and will never be reunited and let’s face it, will die of hunger or dehydration. Thanks to IDF and their war

the whole thing is messed up and wrong

Tigerteal · 15/11/2023 13:28

are any of you going to condemn what Israel has done to innocent Palestinians for almost 80 years?

loads of you want anyone who is asking for a ceasefire (purely bcos of the high civilian loss of life) to condemn Hamas (and many do) but why don’t you condemn what Israel has done and continues to do?

Tigerteal · 15/11/2023 13:31

From a doctor in al shifa today

The doctor in Al-Shifa that the BBC has spoken to has also said the hospital is without power, oxygen and water.
Dr Ahmed Mokhallalati said six premature babies died in recent days and that he’s worried that the others will die “one by one” due to a lack of oxygen and lack of power.
He said essential surgeries were carried out on Tuesday with only light sedation and patients were “screaming in pain”. No surgeries could be carried out on Wednesday.
Dr Mokhallalati said doctors were unable to help one patient with burns yesterday, due to a lack of equipment including ventilators, and had to just “let him die“.
Asked if Israeli troops had brought medical aid to the hospital, he responded: “If it was up to me, I would refuse [any aid]. They are killing us for 40 days and they want to offer me saline drips.”

but of course let’s all pretend to be civilised and focus on Hamas.

So everything Israel have done in the last 75yrs, the illegal occupation, the apartheid, the killings, the arrest and torture of children, the strangulation of Gazas economy, this is all cool because they 'won' a war and Palestinians should just roll over and accept the illegal occupation and oppression?

That's a bizarre take I have to say.

@tescocreditcard you need to read up on factual history. I was not talking about a war 75 years ago.

And please chill out, for your own sake (I am being genuine)

I can see this is affecting your mental health so I won’t be posting in response to your posts as not to further aggravate you.

I hope you find peace. ☮️

aswarmofmidges · 15/11/2023 13:36

quite sure bombing and killing Palestinians is going to increase the number of people there who turn against Israel and the west

Creatingusernamesismygame · 15/11/2023 13:43

@tescocreditcard Wow. That’s like me saying. They got attacked on the 7th of October. FUCKING GET OVER IT. Or I could go further back in history and tell them to get over the attacks or genocides that took place back then. But, I’m not that inhumane and can never tell a group of people to forget atrocities committed against them.

Tigerteal · 15/11/2023 13:49

@Creatingusernamesismygame very true. It’s funny how one set one people can say that about the last 75 years of wrongs but if anyone said that about the 7 October all sorts of words will be thrown our way

And like you, I would never even think that about any loss of innocent life. Let alone say it

SomeCatFromJapan · 15/11/2023 13:55

Hamas want Israel to keep their grubby, murderous little hands off their land that’s all.

Oh bullshit. They deliberately provokes Israel in the most grotesque way possible, knowing full well that Gazan civilians would pay the price.
But you keep caping for a terrorist organisation.

Thereissomelight · 15/11/2023 14:05

EsmaCannonball · 15/11/2023 12:59

Depends what you mean about the biggest crimes in history. There can't be many countries free of historical crimes. Why do you think so many of the countries in the world are Islamic? The answer is: because they were very violently colonised. Europe has spent most of its history resisting or being colonised from the East. Slavery from Africa into the Middle East was a massive endeavour and continued well into the twentieth century, only being outlawed in some places in the 1970's. Russia and China are effectively colonising parts of Africa now. The Wagner Group is massacring whole villages of people because Russian kleptocrats want their resources. I do think current Western values are better than the values of Putin and Assad and Hamas, and that instead of navel-gazing about the wrongs of the past, of which every country is guilty, we need to think about where the world is going.

I see your point and I’m sure US leaders worry a lot about these scenarios. But making enemies in the Middle East and stirring up violent hatred for generations to come isn’t going to help. We’ll all just have to load up with bigger and bigger weapons until life for everyone becomes untenable.

I’m all for a show of strength, sticking with your allies and hitting your enemies back harder than they hit you. But I don’t think that’s what’s happening here. This really does look to me like years of severe provocation by Israel, followed by using Hamas terrible response as an excuse for a land grab.

And so so many children being so terribly traumatised. That’s what it all boils down to. If I thought my peace and safety depended on their suffering I’d have to wonder if it was worth it. But the thing is, it doesn’t. Our peace and safety in fact depends on not being surrounded by billions of people who hate us and want revenge.

Or you could Israel deliberately provoked Hamas by keeping them under illegal occupation. By continually humiliating and displacing Palestinians. By 'breaking ceasefire' and killing around 250 Palestians including children before 7/10, by arresting, torturing and holding Palestinians without trial including children. Does that not sound provocative to you? If killing and kidnapping Israelis is provocative then you can surely see why killing and 'arresting' Palestinians is also provocative?

Tigerteal · 15/11/2023 14:13

@Thereissomelight well said and what I have struggled to put into words.

our safety should not be at the risk of innocent lives, especially those of little children

So, you’re saying Hamas are asking Israel to occupy its land? Many of the Hamas members are those who have had their families murdered by the idf and homes destroyed. Everything brutally snatched away. And you are saying Hamas want Israel to continue stealing its land?
Why won’t you say that Israel provoked the Palestinian people first by brutally occupying their land and invading them. This gave rise to Hamas, who now keep returning the favour by showing equal brutality. The only innocents caught up in this is the Palestinians, who have no say in any of it.
Also, it doesn’t take much to provoke the idf does it? A man in a wheelchair looking at them was enough for them to attack him. A young but three rocks at an idf soldier and he shot him dead and said he started it.

Why is it that British was able to get their kids out in the wars and most recently Ukraine sent their children to safer areas.

why is it that children in gaza are trapped there - not allowed to leave?

does no one see the hypocrisy of this? I don’t care about the IDF of Hamas but seeing all those children die but Israel refusing to allow Egypt open its borders is telling.

it’s clear all lives are not the same value

This 100%.

This sketch and commentary by the brilliant Tadhg Hickey brings home the point quite well:

Yes @thereissomelight you have described exactly what so many of us feel. If my safety meant the deaths of thousands of innocent children I don’t want it. I’d rather face and risk the threat than have blood of thousands of innocents on my hands. To protect my own child’s life take another child’s right to live? Nah, not in my name.

Louloulouenna · 15/11/2023 15:02

Hamas is an Islamic Death Cult who do not care about their own people.

There seem to be so many posts like that, even though no-one here is supporting Hamas.
Although I think some people like to conflate support of Palestinians to support of Hamas.
