She purposely riled everyone up about the protests and now there are far right and football hooligans planning to counter riot and incite violence.
This is known by the police hence the heightened police presence on the day.

However it's now going to look like it's because of the pro Palestine march even though they are not planning to go anywhere near the cenotaph and its just a peaceful protest.

There is a video on Twitter of these 4 men if you can call them like that totally disrespectful
https://twitter.com/BTP/status/1723691445020713180

They’ve been posted on tiktok telling pro Palestinians protesters to go back home and that they were born there and had the right to tell them to go home. They also tried to physically attack some protesters. Lots of videos online of these 4. I can’t forget the face of the bald one, at first I thought it was Harry Hill 🤦‍♀️

Reallifelurker · 12/11/2023 15:24

I could be wrong but I think they're wanted for wearing those headbands. I googled and seems those headbands are not actually Hamas headbands. They're like the Saudi flag and have a prayer on them unlike the Hamas ones that have other stuff on them. The way they are dressed looks intimidating though.

The green headband look like one worn by members of Hamas. The face coverings don’t help either. Way to make yourself look shifty as fuck.

Suella did not get what she wanted.

1.) She wanted the marches to be called off. They were not.
2.) She didn't want the Jewish community to be further exposed to more anti-semitic attacks. This happened. Particularly at the Abbey Road synagogue caused by a breakaway faction. Just one episode but one episode too many. No good saying things like it was just a few people. Why should the Jewish community put up with this?

This article in the unbeloved Daily Mail has an interesting opinion piece from a former police officer. It really expresses what many, many privately think. Do I have evidence that many, many people privately think?

No. But I bet they do.

Suella Braverman was right about biased, woke policing

It was the same with Black Lives Matter protests and, for a long time, the hugely disruptive stunts by groups such as Just Stop Oil, bottom left.

Agree! Unnecessary and unwise! Can't understand why somebody would choose to do that but 🤷🏽‍♀️

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12739659/amp/Met-Police-hunt-hate-crime-suspects-pro-Palestine-march.html here is link to the story of people b the police are looking for. I would not go on a march with people like this and the people work hateful signs just as I wouldn't go on a march alongside people dressed as the Ku klux Klan however few. This makes Jewish people feel just like black people would if the KKK were marching and to compare to Robinson and his gang is laughable.

Hopefully they’ll all be identified

And agree

Can you really not understand why Hamas supporters are dressed like that? Could it perchance be to make Jewish people and the rest of us feel really unsafe, and show how they have the upper hand while useful idiots in the media rant on about Suella and a few blokes in tracksuits with Tommy Robinson?

I reckon it was pretty terrifying for Chinatown having EDL march through.

Do hijabs and scarves make you uncomfortable too? What about the niqabs that Muslim women wear? Do you think they make Jews in London or wherever the protests and marches are held, uncomfortable too?

This.

The hate is there to see. Hidden faces of hatred. They use the useful idiots to hide amongst. They don't see it as a peace march but a march to stir up hatred. They want Israel to cease to exist and the useful idiots walk with them.

I’m not Jewish but yes it’s to intimidate and also conceal identity

I thought face coverings were banned at the march anyway

No not banned but you can be required in law to remove a face covering if a senior officer issues a section 60 notice and then you are asked by a police officer to remove it.

So you are likening hijabs and scarves to Hamas outfits. Isn't that abit Islamaphobic?

Surplus2requirements · 12/11/2023 19:02

The phrase 'useful idiots' to describe 100s of 1000s of people all with their own experience, opinion and reasons for being there is extremely dismissive, insulting and I guess an attempt to shame people into silence.

Im saddened to see it banded around so widely on MN of all places.

Or did you miss that.

yes it's a really patronising, dismissive and contemptuous way to speak of millions of people who oppose the war for entirely valid reasons.

Coveescapee · 12/11/2023 19:13

Well yes we all oppose the war. Its just we would feel uncomfortable to march alongside Hamas supporters and would be appealing to Hamas to release the hostages if we did (although would be at risk of being attacked as that poor man was yesterday). I made no link between Hamas and hijabs so not sure what you are on about @Readingallnight

It’s you talking about face coverings. That’s similar to the niqab.

Jupitersstorm · 12/11/2023 19:17

I personally don't feel uncomfortable and applaud the use of these garments as a person's choice - but there are those who feel uncomfortable when they cannot see somebody's face.

Reallifelurker · 12/11/2023 19:17

Indeed. Calling people who don’t agree with you idiots is such a clever debating tactic 🙄. It’s isn’t even a correct use of the phrase.

I find “we see you” is a bit irritating as well. Dunno if it’s meant to sound menacing but it just sounds high and mighty.
