She purposely riled everyone up about the protests and now there are far right and football hooligans planning to counter riot and incite violence.
This is known by the police hence the heightened police presence on the day.

However it's now going to look like it's because of the pro Palestine march even though they are not planning to go anywhere near the cenotaph and its just a peaceful protest.

Lots of racists there today.
With the EDL - the far right islamaphobic organisation.

Glad to see you agree, the far right where also among the pro Palestine crowd, and as the saying goes if you align with racists then...

If you don't mind me saying so..actually frankly I don''t care if you do mind - you seem well and truly stuck in "see no evil, hear no evil" when it comes to the events this evening, even when such events are reported in vaguely left of centre portions of the MSM such as the Guardian.

I think most people would accept that large numbers of police trying to engage with and then evict a very noisy mob on a station concourse isn't run of the mill, even for a demo..

Oh, BTW remember the tiny bit of help I gave you over your apparent confusion over the Grosvenor square/place issue upthread - you're welcome...

Yes Thankyou for the location mistake, 👏
There really is no need to use terms like
mob though
they were demonstrators
changing the narrative doesn’t changed the fact
it just confuses people and creates
propaganda.

just in case you are not sure here’s the definition of mob.

I will no longer be engaging with propaganda, just like others on here.

And again proving the point of language and seeing dogwhistles

Reallifelurker · 11/11/2023 23:26

Well done in proving my point of implying 'it's just a few bad apples' though, and ignoring the recently accepted narrative of "if you align with racists then ...."

Also to add more context the policing is different to manage a crowd of 300,000 to a crowd of a couple of hundred, retrospective arrests and visa warrants are happening for previous marches as they won't go storming in and Kettling that size crowd as any seasoned protester would know...

It still doesn't take away from the headline narrative of the day, more detained at the pro march than the counter protest, and still doesn't dispute me calling out the 'just an innocent question asking for proof

I’m not being funny but I didn’t understand a word of that.

I have, it's somewhat ironic you telling me to look at the MET when my initial post on this thread was replying to you asking for 'proof' that you apparently couldn't find online but had been posted 2 hours before you asked your 'innocent question'....

The Met posted their official report of the march after I posted for proof.
Quite some time after I think, I didn’t keep a copy after reading it though so don’t have a screen shot for you.

Ah, we are now playing a game of moving the goal posts I see.

I highlighted this from the post I picked up on.

Maybe it happened today but I haven’t found the evidence yet and you’d think if 150 people were involved there would be something online, someone must have videod it. Has anyone seen the evidence from today.

Which was posted at 21:12, and yet you unironically told me I need to look at the MET when they posted this almost exactly 2 hours earlier....

Metropolitan Police on X: "Officers have detained a breakaway group of around 150 people from the pro-Palestinian demonstration in Grosvenor Place. The group were firing fireworks and many are wearing face coverings. Officers are using their Section 60 and 60AA powers to detain and search those involved. t.co/4P1yzpFQcD" / X (twitter.com)

We could play a game of you not going on twitter or being able to do general online searches and only getting updates via email if you want to continue the narrative?

I’m so pissed off with everyone marching. There’s a hideous unsolvable conflict in the Middle East, why the hell start importing it here?

Our government can do fuck all to stop Israel. Marching here is just displacement activity/ virtue signalling. If you wanna be useful go join an aid agency.

You're intentionally ignoring the split of out and out western far right white supremacists groups who are split on being pro Palestine or pro Israel, (hint more coming down on pro Palestine, BF and French NF are being split down these lines) but well done in ignoring the underlying situation of 'if you align with racists', even discounting the white supremacists group there is a large overlay of those who just despise Jews among the ranks, and it has repeatedly stated over the past couple of years that if you have right wing/racists supporting your cause then it's an issue.

Most people are using the rules defined by the online crowd who make statements such as If you're going to throw that card on the table, be careful, to applying the rules of if 10 people are sitting down for lunch and 2 of them are a nazi, then there is 10 nazis eating lunch.

You have GOT to appreciate the irony of the evidently motivated by anti-Arab / anti-Muslim sentiment bloke who has, presumably voluntarily so, prominently labelled himself "Emirates", though!

Yes, I know how sponsorships work but ... still funny in an extremely dark way!

Readingallnight · 12/11/2023 01:53

Was so worried about the scarey hell that was supposed to be at Waterloo station today.
Then I found videos and photos of it
mmm not scarey then. Well not if you’re used to rush hour, as this is tame by comparison.

( apologies re all the adverts around it, the image was too large to post any other way, other images on newsflare and in the Daily Fail.)

Ps police there aswell…all good👍

Just looked at your video
Now that is intimidation
A PP was suggesting pro Palestinian marchers made Waterloo Station really scarey yesterday but obviously she was referring to the counter protestors…..Bravermans lot!!! aaaah….now that makes much more sense

Thanks for posting.

Tigerteal · 12/11/2023 07:01

@watchingtheworldwithwoei was at the protest and it was peaceful. The speakers mentioned armistice day and there were people from the armistice day events early on who had joined the protest.

many wearing poppies, including my partner both his grandads fought in wars. Makes sense to me that you would wear a poppy and support a ceasefire and peace for the benefit of both Israel and Palestine.

I’m sure the far right protestors and football hooligans you refer to are avid followers of cabinet politics and would not have even considered counter protesting the march if they hadn’t heard the reporting of Suella’s comments on radio 4s Today programme. Absolutely.

One of the far right counter protestors rang LBC to say their presence was 100% inspired by Braverman’s intervention. He then realised what he’d said and tried to backtrack. He described his friend punching a protestor and being arrested and felt hard done by for that. He said that Braverman was “one of us” helping to take the country back.

After Braverman’s article the London Met said that they now had to reckon with the presence of far right groups as a result of what she’d said. So she does bear some responsibility.

If she is this unhinged with the limited power she holds, imagine what would be unleashed if she was ever to become pm.

This is the most interesting post I have read this morning, and I promise you it isn't the first one I've read.

I haven't time to deal with each of your sentences separately.

If each marcher wrote a letter to the relevant person, depending on the marcher's wiewpoint, it might do as much good as the marching.

'Let's march on Saturday' is beginning to have a whiff of jumping on the latest fashionable bandwagon about it, as well as being an excuse for what I hope is a small minority of utter shit-heaps to jump in, too.

Pretty sure the news reports said that the protesters at Waterloo caused no problems at all

notimagain · 12/11/2023 09:44

@Reallifelurker

"Pretty sure the news reports said that the protesters at Waterloo caused no problems at all".

If you seek, keeping an open mind, and delve into the Guardian's live feed, which is still accessible for yesterday,

At 1719 GMT

"British Transport police say that some pro-Palestinian protesters have staged a sit-in at Waterloo station.
The British Transport police (BTP) said officers were urging people to disperse after an order was put in place prohibiting trespassory assembly at a number of London train stations.
BTP said in a post on X: “Following engagement with protest liaison officers, protesters are refusing to leave Waterloo station as agreed.
“Therefore we are moving to arrest phase.”
------
Then at 1728 GMT:

"British Transport police have said they have made no arrests at Waterloo station:
As we moved to our arrest phase in Waterloo station, protesters began to disperse. No arrests were made.
The station is clear now, and passengers are able to use the station as normal.”

(my emphasis)

-------

I'm not quite sure how "causing no problems at all" equates with the police moving into the "arrest phase", or TBH how that all fits in the idea that Waterloo station was just like a normal rush hour..

I've now heard from two people (regular London commuters) who were on the ground there at around that time who said that when they went through there it wasn't at all like a normal rush hour.
