The war in Iraq saw some of the biggest demonstrations and protests ever recorder globally

The IDF do indeed always claim not to target civilians.
The Russian army makes the same claims in Ukraine whilst bombing maternity hospitals, schools, markets etc.
Its just words really.
Both of these militaries have no regard for civilians.

What do you mean by Palestine? Gaza is not occupied. Israeli's left in 2005. The west bank is a mixed area with some under control of the PA and some under Israeli control. Some land bitterly contested from what i understand.

I don't know why people ask silly questions like this. Hamas are a proscribed terrorist organization. Their aim is to invoke terror. State members are supposed to act civilly and adhere to international law. The real question should be is why has a State member killed almost eight times the victims of the proscribed terrorist group? And that is not counting the deaths of the decades before.

The UN and many human rights organisations continue to consider Gaza as occupied by Israel due to the blockade it has enforced

I see this more in the context of military occupation of Palestine and the Apartheid policies there.
Support a 2 state solution, turn away from Hamas extremists and Netanyahus gang of far right wing Ultras. Moderate palestinian partners for peace wait in the wings to make steps towards a solution. Would Netanyahu engage with them over the years-No.

So you admit that Palestines in the West Bank are also subjected to horrific conditions and abuse despite there being no Hamas there? So basically as far as Israel is concerned, being a Palestinian is a crime and must be punished? Hamas or no Hamas.

Israel have the infrastructure to kill all the Gazans if they want to, they don't do it because it's nor their goal, they don't target civilians but hamas hide among civilians .

Prior to recent events, Gaza is not occupied in the same way that downtown Leningrad was not occupied by Hitlers armies.

under siege and occupied? 20,000 people had permits to work in Israel. Garzans were treated in hospitals for free in Israel. Israel supplied water and electricity purely for humanitarian reasons. Sounds like despite everything there was some cooperation going on there.

But perhaps Israel was naive because look at what happened when the wall was breached?

I said it up thread but don't Israel have the best special forces in the world? Aren't there better ways than obliterating a civilian population, to remove terrorists hiding in tunnels underneath them?

Just because they 'can' but have not wiped Gaza off the face of the earth does not mean that they care about the innocent gazan civilians
they continue to bomb indiscriminately including areas in the south which were 'Israeli designated safe zones' the same places they told the civilians to move to for their own safety

@2boys1princess Hamas absolutely are in the west bank. They are a global operation, they are involved in a quite a few activities.

I am sorry but if the UN, human rights lawyers, Amnesty International and others organisations have stated that the Israel government have committed war crimes. I will trust their assessment over yours. In addition, the bombing of the refugee camp killed 7 hostages and 1 Hamas leader. The IDF and government do not care an iota about the hostages. The Israeli bombs killed them, not Hamas.
