@Parkingt111 What is your view on Hamas and the 7th October terrorist attacks?
Do you think Hamas care about Civilians and what is your view on that?
Do you condemn Hamas?

Nearly a month after still …

IstandWithIsrael · 01/11/2023 14:24

@FrippEnos
This is what you see in the news, because right now
everyone against israel.

hamas use hospitals, schools and families homes for shelter!
we trying to avoid any civiliens to get hurt!

we are "very sorry" if we are helping to spred the propoganda
we just don't have other way after what they did to us

Israel are indeed spreading propaganda but that is not what I meant.
Israel by their actions of indiscriminately killing non combatants (the civilians) is spreading hate against Israel.
By killing families the survivors will pass that hate on to their children, and they will become the next group to attack Israel.
And Israel is spreading the seeds that will make this happen.

EasterIssland · 01/11/2023 16:34

“we just don't have other way after what they did to us”

yes you do @IstandWithIsrael , hamas is not the only Terrorist group in the world. In Spanish, in fact, I’m basque. Have you ever heard about ETA? Have you ever heard about 11 March 2023?

thanks god not every country (or politician) behaves like Israel is behaving at the moment.

this is a valid question when all the criticism is being laid onto Israel who did not ask for this war or start it.

eardefender · 01/11/2023 16:40

Parkingt111 · 01/11/2023 16:11

@eardefender have you seen that the Jabaliya camp was struck again today?
Whilst the people there have not even managed to get all the injured and dead out the rubble
Can you see how little regard Israel have for the palestinian civilians?
Not even 24 hours after the first devastating strike

they were told not to be there nearly 3 weeks ago. This is a war others have moved to safer areas. Hamas are to blame for keeping them there

Sure. Keep telling that to yourself

can You tell me how do 100k people move away from their homes in the middle of a war ? How do they move to the south ? Where do they go?
keep telling to yourself that hamas is asking them to stay … whilst UN and AI , URNWA keep saying that what Israel is doing is not right and they shouldn’t be displacing thousands of people.

if France came tomorrow and told you move or I’ll bomb your house , and you had nowhere to go and no way to movw and you heard those going to the south had been bombed I’m sure you’d be moving and leaving everything behind.

you say Israel didn’t ask for this war. Refugees didn’t neither

eardefender · 01/11/2023 16:45

@Auvergne63 I am sorry but if the UN, human rights lawyers, Amnesty International and others organisations have stated that the Israel government have committed war crimes. I will trust their assessment over yours. In addition, the bombing of the refugee camp killed 7 hostages and 1 Hamas leader. The IDF and government do not care an iota about the hostages. The Israeli bombs killed them, not Hamas

They haven't though, as i stated in my post, its all 'may' or 'might have'. Not very many are saying it for definite because i don't think they have, i don't think its uneqiuvocal that Israel have definitely committed war crimes.

We must not take anything that Hamas claims as the truth. We know they lie we have to wait and see what the truth of this bombing is and who really died.

I really don't think i am alone in thinking that the UN, Amnesty and the Guardian lack credibility, not least because of their bias toward Israel/Jews.

EasterIssland · 01/11/2023 16:51

The UN said that Hamas’s indiscriminate killing of hundreds of noncombatants, including children, and the abduction of about 200 others as hostages and human shields in Gaza, is a crime under international humanitarian law.

The UN also said that Israel may be committing the war crime of collective punishment through its siege of the Gaza territory. The International Committee of the Red Cross agreed.
“The instructions issued by the Israeli authorities for the population of Gaza City to immediately leave their homes, coupled with the complete siege, explicitly denying them food, water and electricity are not compatible with international humanitarian law,” it said.

Amnesty International said it has “documented unlawful Israeli attacks, including indiscriminate attacks, which caused mass civilian casualties and must be investigated as war crimes”.
Human Rights Watch said that “multiple war crimes have been and continue to be committed in Israel and Palestine, with grave concerns that Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups are carrying out unlawful indiscriminate attacks harming civilians”.

you can just focus on the May. The reality is that the sentence has got more than just May

Have war crimes been committed in Israel and Gaza and what international laws apply? | Israel-Hamas war | The Guardian

The UN has said there is evidence that international humanitarian law may have been breached by both sides in the conflict

Most left to the south. I read about 400k or so remain. No idea if this is true though. I think its more than 100k left in Gaza city, depends how many bodies Hamas want as a shield. The population of the Gaza strip is some 2,2m.
Hamas did not ask them to stay they force them and block roads.

I blame Hamas for bringing this war to their civilians. Its a terrorist state.

eardefender · 01/11/2023 16:57

@EasterIssland
If Israel commits war crimes they need to be properly dealt with.
The summary that you put up is speculation from all parties. None of them are saying Israel is committing war crimes. If you look at the wording they are all carefully speculating. I am not blaming them for this.
There is a difference in saying that they are definitely committing war crimes and saying they might be.
These organisations are being careful with their wording because we don't know yet.

Mass displacement continues. In the Gaza Strip, the cumulative number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) increased by 25% over the past 24 hours, now exceeding 423,000, of whom over two thirds are taking shelter in UNRWA schools," OCHA said, referring to the U.N. Palestinian refugee agency.
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/un-says-over-400000-people-displaced-gaza-appeals-300-mln-2023-10-13/

so it’s not that they’ve moved to the south. Just that they’ve been displaced. Many to refugee camps and hospitals (the same ones that are being bombed)

also , Hamas is blocking the roads according to you. To me, after all the destruction that Israel is doing with the bombs the roads have became not usable

UN says over 400,000 people displaced in Gaza, appeals for $300 million

The U.N. humanitarian office (OCHA) said early on Friday that more than 400,000 people had fled their homes in the Gaza Strip and 23 aid workers had been killed since the start of Israeli retaliatory strikes in response to a deadly Hamas incursion.

MissyB1 · 01/11/2023 16:58

@eardefender the civilians who evacuated to the south have also been bombed there. So much good it did them following the IDFs instructions eh?

EasterIssland · 01/11/2023 16:59

@eardefender

Amnesty International said it has “documented unlawful Israeli attacks, including indiscriminate attacks, which caused mass civilian casualties and must be investigated as war crimes”.
Human Rights Watch said that “multiple war crimes have been and continue to be committed

there is no may-s here. There is multiple war crimes have been committed and the attacks must be investigated as war crimes.

Parkingt111 · 01/11/2023 17:47

@eardefender how you minimise the suffering of the Palestinians
Is this the south that you stand on your high horse and tell them to move to?
Are you saying that its their own fault they were killed for not moving?
Give me one verified source that say Hamas physically prevented the civilians of the Jabaliya refugee camp from moving as that is what we are discussing right now?

Why is Israeli bombing refugee camps in Gaza?
2boys1princess · 01/11/2023 17:48

There are no safer areas. They are told to
go south to fe the north, but they are bombarded there and killed. Why won’t Israel open the borders for the Palestinian civilians
and get them out and then go bomb Hamas.

Both Hamas and the Israeli lie. Fact. The IDF have claimed the bombing of the refugee camp. Fact. The imposition of sieges that endanger the lives of civilians by depriving them of goods essential for their survival is prohibited under international humanitarian law. Fact.
Your opinion on the lack of credibility of the organisations you mention is just that, an opinion, not a fact.

Zygoma · 01/11/2023 18:21

Thanks to @Parkingt111 for all her polite and persistent posting when I would have given up. You are highlighting the gross injustice that continues towards the Palestinian people.

And I have seen you condemn Hamas many many times.

But for now Israel is the bigger aggressor. And Netanyahu et al are out of control whilst thousands more innocent people suffer cruel deaths. So that’s what people are focussing on now. Surely at this stage, feeling heartbreak towards the Palestinian people is the only decent human response.

I work with adults with learning. The news were on today when I arrived a lady's flat, showing the devastation in Gaza. She looked at me and said " This is wrong." She doesn't know anything about the history of the conflict; she just reacted to what she saw. She just showed her humanity.

Parkingt111 · 01/11/2023 18:46

@Zygoma thank you 😊
I feel more sorry for the UN chief
Iv seen him give out statements everyday that the world needs to intervene and stop the massacre in Gaza but it only seems to fall on deaf ears

Itisyourturntowashthebath · 01/11/2023 19:13

I felt for António Guterres last week. I've never seen the Secretary-General of the United Nations use themselves as a human shield before. He got the Rafah gate open though.

Parkingt111 · 01/11/2023 21:48

Netanyahu needs to be held accountable for this
Finally we have people calling the attack on the refugee camp for what it is
A WAR CRIME

Why is Israeli bombing refugee camps in Gaza?
SinnerBoy · 01/11/2023 22:58

2005, Israel left Gaza. We forced our own people to leave their homes. The army grabbed them and kicked them out.

There were 7,000 or so illegal settlers and the Israeli courts ordered them to move and they took no notice. The Americans had been pressuring Israel to do something as an international gesture of goodwill, so they decided to move the illegal settlers from Gaza.

This had a number of benefits for Israel. Firstly, it freed a very large number of troops, who'd been protecting the illegal settlers. It also gave them an international propaganda boost, to say that they were serious about settling with the Palestinians.

They were dishonest, claiming that they "gave" Gaza to the Palestinians, when it was never theirs to take, nor give.

It was also good internal propaganda, all the crying people being arrested by the army. That translated into "Look how awful it was with a few thousand, we can never clear the West Bank settlements."

Don't forget, those settlers had priority for water, over more than one and a half million Palestinians. The illegal settlers took 90% of the water, to grow flowers for the European markets. But - productivity was down, because of an increasingly salinified aquifer, so they wouldn't have been able to support themselves for many more years.

For peace!

For the illusion that Israel wanted peace. Had they, they wouldn't have immediately cleared more Palestinians out of the West Bank and placed settlers there, would they?

It defies logic to say that they wanted peace.
