The UN also said that Israel may be committing the war crime of collective punishment through its siege of the Gaza territory. The International Committee of the Red Cross agreed.

“The instructions issued by the Israeli authorities for the population of Gaza City to immediately leave their homes, coupled with the complete siege, explicitly denying them food, water and electricity are not compatible with international humanitarian law,” it said.

Amnesty International said it has “documented unlawful Israeli attacks, including indiscriminate attacks, which caused mass civilian casualties and must be investigated as war crimes”.

Human Rights Watch said that “multiple war crimes have been and continue to be committed in Israel and Palestine, with grave concerns that Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups are carrying out unlawful indiscriminate attacks harming civilians”.

The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza, which is run by Hamas, said more than 8,000 people have been killed in the Israeli assault, including more than 3,000 children.

Some groups have gone further and accused Israel of genocide, although lawyers said that is a harder crime to prove under international law.

These are all 'mights' and 'maybes' from questionable organisations who are struggling with the own credibility. The UN, Guardian, Amnesty. They are not the law. I am not saying they are wrong but they are not Lawyers. I think the test is if this actually gets into a court and a judgement is made. Might have is not the same as has. I am very skeptical that Israel is breaking the law.
All these organisations are in a position to give an opinion as much as any of us can that Israel (always Israel never Hamas) is committing war crimes.

The figures of deaths are from Hamas and need to be treated with skepticism, they are obviously not all civilian deaths and we know Hamas lies.

They also seem to be incredibly fast at counting dead bodies, it has taken Israel 3 weeks to count their dead and hostages but hamas takes only hours and they are weirdly always even numbers.

the above are facts not any kind of propaganda.

This is a long post!

This is for all the progressives who don't have a clue about the Israel-Palestine conflict at all!

In 2005, Israel left Gaza. We forced our own people to leave their homes. The army grabbed them and kicked them out. For peace! We left them homes, villas, we gave them everything that they needed - for free. They could have made anything with that. They could have made a country.

Instead of that,

In 2006, Hamas took over Gaza. And they want it all - they started to shout "from the river to the sea". Do you know what that means, guys?

It means to kill all the Jews from Gaza to Jordan!

Long story short,

On October 7, Gaza's army broke the border.

They killed, burned, kidnapped, murdered and raped everyone who was on their way!

Kids, women and elderly.

They killed more than 1400 people from all over the world and kidnapped more than 240!

They declared a war! Not us.

Now I'm asking you - what would you do?

What do you think, guys, Israel needs to do

To guarantee our life here?

OK, so you guys take a side, but you don't really take a moment to dive into the details, to the history.

I know, it's very easy to look at the pictures in Gaza and take the underdog's side.

You want to free Palestine?

Free them from Hamas.

This is not Israel against Hamas = ISIS.

This is the light against the dark.

You don't really have to love us to be on our side.

You just have to be h u m a n.

Do you think that bombing Palestinian civilians will stop Hamas or do you think that it will just breed more hatred and in fact do the opposite?

Stand with Israel all you want but at least see that they are not curing the disease they are helping to propagate it.

Personally I stand with all the innocents that are suffering due to the actions of Hamas and Israel.

But didn’t Israel already have some control over water, electricity supplies etc to Gaza as it was pretty much a blockaded area, so if they cut supplies they have nothing.

If you read what I put up then you will see that the surgical director at that particular hospital, who was giving an interview said they recieved around 400 casualties and around 120 of them were dead

What Hamas did in Israel was an act of terrorism and extremely bad
I agree with you that this was bad

We are not criticising the Israeli civilians.
We are angry at Netanyahu and the Israeli government for continuing to bomb and kill thousands of civilians in the name of self defence
I don't believe that it is justified to bomb a camp which has majority women and children because you want to try and kill one Hamas commander or even a few

You have every right to feel safe in your country.
What Israel is doing now in the opinion of many will not bring safety to Israel but will create a number of new enemies at the expense of thousands of innocent civilians

I lost someone very close to me in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, when Islamic terrorists killed over 200 people, including tiny children in hotels, railway stations and hospitals. It was proven the terrorists came from Pakistan, which has form for harbouring terrorists. I did not call for the mass bombing of the general Pakistani population or the slaughter of their children as retaliation. Neither did any of the victims. Those responsible were caught and executed.

That is what I expect Israel to do.

you think freeing the people of Palestine from from Hamas is the answer? It isn’t. The Palestinians in the West Bank are free from Hamas. There’s no Hamas there, yet they are still subjected to the same violence by Israelis.
The world now can see that Hamas is just an excuse to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians.
who actually believes that if Hamas were to be eliminated, the Palestinian people will have the same rights as the Israeli Jews? Nah. That won’t happen.

I dont think its been proven to be a missile from Gaza which hit the hospital. The IDFs version of events are still disputed, or so it seems.

It was a surgical doctor working at the hospital said they had 400 casualties come in from which 120 were dead
I'm sure you have seen pictures of the aftermath of the blast including the two large craters
And given the number of people living there why would you assume the doctor is lying?

Wait for confirmation. There is a propaganda war. Yesterday Israel reported having rescued a female IDF soldier. They also reported they found the head of Shani Louk who had been raped, paraded, spat on. This was after Hamas said she was in hospital with a head injury. This all made Hamas look awful (could they look any worse). When i saw this news it was with skepticism, hence the wait and see approach. This could easily be another stray Hamas missile.

Hamas are widely known to hide behind civilians and operate from hospitals, schools etc so this could have been a military target that Hamas sadly smother with civilians to protect it.

Hamas have also apparently been preventing civilians from leaving the northern strip after Israel repeatedly warned of air and land attacks and told them to go south 2 weeks ago. Hamas need those bodies to stay over the tunnels and around the military targets.

Whatever the truth is Hamas can end this now. They can surrender, hand over the hostages. Israel withdraws. Aid goes in. They can save their own people now, but they don't.

Not sure how Hamas can end this disaster. Wouldnt Palestine still be illegally and militarilly occupied if all Hamas agreed to go into Israeli custody?

Yes, there are dozens of Pakistani and other Islamic terror outfits calling for India and Hindus to be eliminated from the world, so they can establish a Caliphate. Thousands have been killed by Islamic terrorists in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and across Asia. And in the UK, for that matter. That does not mean Muslims worldwide deserve to be massacred in retaliation.

Hamas is not Palestine.
