@Parkingt111

"Well instead of asking why the Egyptians don't say no. Should we not be asking why the Israelis are imposing so many restrictions in allowing aid in"

+++

It is a simple answer why Israel has imposed so many restrictions on truck movements into Gaza which is to stop weapons smuggling. In fact Egypt and Israel have been doing this since 2012.

But if Egypt is frustrated it is still within its rights to just say no.

@Parkingt111

"Do you know that the trucks can only go through after Israel has checked them and give the go ahead
Hence why so little has gone through because Israel is now allowing "

+++

Please think this through.

The trucks are coming through via the Rafah crossing point in Egypt. The Israelis have zero presence in Rafah it's the Gaza / Egypt border point.

It is the Egyptians checking the trucks to make sure no weapons are being smuggled in or out as they have consistently been doing since 2012 (after terrorists based in Gaza attacked Egyptians in Northern Sinai.)

@1dayatatime you were telling me to think it through that Israel does not impose on what goes through the Rafah border when I said they do

I then provided you the proof that actually they very well do and are one of the obstacles In allowing much needed aid coming in

That was all

@Oversteppingonasubject

"I’m not a conspiracy theorist - I’m asking a question is that what other people think ?"

+++

Look raising the question whether the Hamas terrorist was a false flag action carried out by Israel is just pure batshit conspiracy theory.

And putting it in the context of "well I'm not saying it's true but other people have suggested it" is straight out of Donald Trumps playbook.

@RubyRubyRubyRubay

"How would Egypt stop the IDF opening the border from the Gazan side and forcing whoevers left in Palestine across? Would Egypt risk war with Israel over it?"

+++

To do this Israel would have to fully occupy Gaza up to the border with Egypt. They would then have to breach the border fencing etc with Egypt and then force the Palestinians across. All the while with Egypt using whatever means to stop this.

Egypt doesn't want a conflict with Israel and Israel doesn't want a conflict with Egypt over this. Remember both Israel and Egypt are allies of US.

What Egypt does want is a solution to this crisis asap, doesn't really care about Israel's views and to make sure that there are no further terrorist attacks from Gaza against Egypt in northern Sinai.

It's a bit misleading to call it a refugee camp. It's a town people have lived in for decades and they were told to evacuate three weeks ago, in the vague hopes anyone is interested in facts.

You might not want to call it refugee camp but that’s what its
116k people in 1.4sq km.

Jabalia is the largest of the Gaza Strip's eight refugee camps. It is located north of Gaza City, close to a village of the same name. After the 1948 War, refugees settled in the camp, most having fled from villages in southern Palestine. Today, the camp covers an area of only 1.4 square kilometers. 116,011 Palestine Refugees are registered with UNRWA in Jabalia camp.

https://www.unrwa.org/where-we-work/gaza-strip/jabalia-camp

istael might have said they have to move… but now you tell me how are you going to move 116k refugees? Is Israel running coaches for them ? Are they helping them move or just threatening you move or we will kill you ?

Jeez - again this is another pure Donald Trump play of "I don't think it's true but some people have suggested that... [insert batshit conspiracy theory]

Jeez. Imagine being offended by someone querying death tolls given by world renowned liars Israel whilst simultaneously working hard to deny genocide and other war crimes.

"But it remains a fact that Israel pays people online to post pro Israeli content. In the last few weeks they've been targeting people posting pro Palestinian content in an effort to get them to flip "

+++

Firstly given that this is a conviction based debate I really can't see anyone flipping from a pro Palestinian stance to a pro Israeli stance for money.

Secondly you state it is a fact but do you have any evidence or credible links to this. Or is it another "I'm not saying it's true but some people believe that...[insert batshit conspiracy theory].

My understanding is the Israeli government told people to leave the refugee camp area as it wouldn't be safe to stay. They are trying to destroy Hamas tunnels which are underneath. Same with the hospital that they keep telling the Palestinians to vacate.

A statement was released on the news in English, and internet and telecommunications have been cut off in Gaza. They released that statement for the rest of the world to see them appearing to warn Gazans.

I didn't say it was smart, I just said Israel is doing it. People have posted videos including screenshots of the communications they received.

Israel has been doing this for over 10 years. It's s not a conspiracy theory, though I get accused of being a conspiracy theorist every time I mention it. Just Google it. They used to release press statements advertising the "jobs" until they realised how pathetic it made them look.

icewoman · 31/10/2023 17:44

Its horrific, but lets wait until the details are verified before we start chucking around blame - remember the hospital, Isreal was blamed, it turned out to be a missile from within gaza

@icewoman Israel has already confirmed they did it. And they have killed thousands more. And the world has sat and done nothing, because Palestinian lives are apparently dispensable. I don't think "let's wait and see" is an appropriate response to genocide.

@RubyRubyRubyRubay

"A leaked Israeli intelligence ministry document proposes relocating the population of the Gaza Strip to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula."

+++

Even if this "leaked document " was true it would be irrelevant as there is absolutely no way Egypt would allow refugees from Gaza to cross over and set up refugee camps in northern Sinai thereby creating Gaza version 2.0.

@1dayatatime @RubyRubyRubyRubay The idea of "transfering" Palestinians to Egypt has been talked about in Israeli circles for a long time. Egypt is not a world powerhouse. If Israel and the US want to do it, they will find a way. Pure evil. And the Israeli propaganda machine will continue.

Icefoot · 01/11/2023 08:11

Curious to know what communication methods were used for this message to evacuate, when Israel has cut off communications and electricity?

Also how exactly people in the camp were supposed to evacuate, when fuel has also been cut off?

And where exactly they were supposed to go?

Icefoot · 01/11/2023 08:21

I thought Israel's special forces were the best in the world? Surely there's a better way to destroy underground tunnels than flattening whole populations? Hamas are presumably suspected of using tunnels to protect themselves from attacks from above, afterall.

Try telling the UN, because that is what they are calling it. Yes, it's absolutely tragic that years later they are still refugees, displaced from their actual homes.

I'm Interested in facts. How we're they told? Were they given anywhere to go or the means to get there? A way to earn a living or feed their families when they got there?

Because these threads neither inform or debate on facts.

It's purely a conviction based rant of "I'm right - No I'm right"
"Well your facts are fake- No your facts are fake"
"Well we can't believe anything [whichever side] says"
Well what about- well what about to your what about"

And so it goes on...
