Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

I think we should all be really pleased. If people make this much effort to derail a thread or try to make excuses about what everyone else sees happening then they have to be very worried the general public or/and regular mumsnet users can see the truth of the marches and rise in antisemitism around the world

Very pleasing 😊

Do you know her name?

I don't think there's agreement on who it is yet. It looks on Twitter as if someone has been named wrongly but it is someone from that area/political sphere.

Do you know her name?

I think from memory it is Kate Varnfield

The police now have her details. No idea if she has been arrested yet. That will depend on if the crown prosecution think they can get it to court

Do you know her name?

Her name is Kate Varnfield. She was never a Labour MP. She was an activist who joined the party for a few months. Then got chucked out.

Netanyahu’s actions are making enemies of Jews

...And we're back to blaming the victims. Condone anti-Semitism indeed.

You're being antisemitic. You've been told you're being antisemitic but you say you'll carry on. The police are now arresting antisemites for linking Netanyahu to Hitler and yet here you are doing the same. Over and over again. I do hope MNHQ pass your details on.

There's an article about her in thr newspaper that must not be named.

"Ms Varnfield's 73-year-old husband, Terry, today insisted to the Mail that the signs had been 'taken out of context' and were an innocent reference to a 1970s UFO religion."

WTF 😂

ScribblingPixie · 13/11/2023 16:16

feeling like I’m banging my head on a wall

Pleased to hear it.

IClaudine · 13/11/2023 16:16

Thanks for the info about the MP.

Hitler would recognise that Netanyahu’s actions are making enemies of Jews, even if you don’t see it

I am trying to get my head round this. Are you suggesting that Netanyahu's actions will cause people who are not anti-Semitic to suddenly become so? Why would that happen @Twillow ?

You might want to fact-check that claim.

The people at the music festival were not killed by IDF helicopters.

25milesfromhome · 13/11/2023 18:13

Did some posters misunderstand the thread title? It’s to talk about displays of antisemitism, not an invitation to display your antisemitism.

👏👏👏

andmeandmeandme · 13/11/2023 18:29

They also didn’t stop Hamas for hours after the attack then idf went in with apache helicopters and killed the people at the music festival.

I know I said I was bowing out of this thread, but WTF is this?!

noblegiraffe · 13/11/2023 18:37

Fake news being circulated on social media. Clearly didn't bother to read the community note.

Stomacharmeleon · 13/11/2023 18:38

@Rubbishagain it's so offensive and down right wrong to write that. It completely moves any culpability to the IDF for what happened at that music concert and that's just not ok. Did the IDF put women on the back of bikes and drive them into Gaza whilst jeering (on social media), did they walk around shooting people? Did they put shani Louk on the back of a jeep naked and brutalised?

Don't minimise terror....don't embarrass yourself...

Also the lady carrying the swastika and Star of David 'combo' knew the placards would be looked at and probably photographed so she is either really thick or looking for a reaction. Let's hope it's an arrest.

Seems they can't help themselves unfortunately - there's an interesting at least it was thread about misinformation been started, and even on that the usual posters are piling in with agendas nothing to do with the title

@MrTiddlesTheCat
Many of the placards that the OP posted are most definitely anti semitic and i hope that anyone who is showing any sort of anti semitism at these protests are arrested. The met are definitely in the process of identifying and charging those who have.
These are a very small number in proportion to over a hundred thousand who have marched.

Our government is complicit in the massacre of the palestinian people
I for one will use the democratic right given to me to call them out on this and demand a ceasefire
One child is being killed every 10 minutes in Gaza. Can you not see why people would be upset about this and take to the streets?

Edited

But so many of these people are taking to the streets to chant anti-semitic tropes and display placards conflating Netanyahu with Hitler, using the Swastika and promoting the destruction of Jews.

Why aren't these people demanding that Hamas release the hostages? Or do they not matter? I mean it was this that meant that Israel needed to protect its borders against further incursions.

Trulywonderful · 13/11/2023 19:32

A article on the dreadful Jewish voice for Labour forum. Ms Kate Varnfield's response to it I have added below. She certainly doesn't like a fair investigation 😂

Tom Watson, assisted by three Labour Councillors and Sir George Howarth MP, has launched a bid to surrender Labour’s independence on what has become the crucial issue of allegations of antisemitism.
Responding to a Board of Deputies of British Jews (BoD) letter of unparalleled effrontery, he proposes both to surrender control of Labour’s disciplinary processes to an outside body; and to permit summary expulsion from the Party on allegations of antisemitism without due process.
