The main stream press aren’t really addressing the horror of what is happening (bar maybe Channel 4 news and Al Jazeera) - it’s a sanitised version.

As I said in the original thread, there has been absolute horror on both sides but the Israeli government are inflicting collective punishment on the people of Gaza, which is a war crime under international law.

I still feel we are watching genocide in real time.

I last had contact 2 weeks ago with a good friend of mine. Him and his wife only got married in February. They had their whole lives to look forward to. I very much doubt I'll ever hear from him again but I pray that I do. I'm finding the news very hard to watch

You mean the hostages who are being bombed by the IDF? Yes I think I mentioned them and how Israel needs to get them out but I suppose they don't think it is worth stopping the bombing to achieve that. If I was an Israeli mother with a child held hostage I would be so furious but I can't say what I'd like to do to a govt who is happy to bomb them rather than get them out, I'd get deleted or kicked off the site.

This is literally how the holocaust happened...go on support the terrorist and their persecution of Jewish people worldwide...if they're successful, they'll cone after the west too...I just can't fathom how people are supporting Hamas instead of Israel.....the only democracy in the ME, I don't agree with all of their policies but they are the best bet for peace.

I really want to hate those who are OK with this genocide right now. But I actually don't. I feel sorry for them and wander what happened in their life to make their heart so cold and their souls numb to the despair and pain and death of innocents.

I cannot believe we are living through this, watching Strictly, eating a Sat night Indian meal et etc.

I’ve avoided the media as much as I can. Instead I’ve been watching the livestreams pointed at Gaza.

It’s annihilation, day in, day out, night after night. It’s disproportionate, it’s raze to the ground, its scorched earth.

And the world is letting it happen.

What a wonderful recruitment exercise for radicalisation of Muslims across the world. What a horrific waste of lives. What a non-global mindset.

I haven’t seen one person on here who is supporting Hamas. What they did was atrocious. But that doesn’t mean that Israel can use the Hamas attacks to justify annihilating Palestine. What Israel is doing goes way beyond trying to wipe out Hamas. I can’t believe anybody can be so simple as to think criticising Israel amounts to supporting Hamas.

@Alliannna no one on this thread supports Hamas. Not one single person has said anything like that at all.

But people are absolutely sickened and appalled by the slaughter of innocent Palestinians.

As I have said clearly accross both of these threads, most people can distingush between innocent Palestinians and Hamas.

Stop trying to make it otherwise.
