The main stream press aren’t really addressing the horror of what is happening (bar maybe Channel 4 news and Al Jazeera) - it’s a sanitised version.

As I said in the original thread, there has been absolute horror on both sides but the Israeli government are inflicting collective punishment on the people of Gaza, which is a war crime under international law.

I still feel we are watching genocide in real time.

SolomonEdGrundy Thanks for posting the article. Looks like the original was written in the late 80's and updated in 2003. You could take the view that the current situation is just a continuation of hostilities but it actually feels like we're closer to his prediction coming true. The real question is who else will get taken down when Israel succeeds in destroying itself.

I cannot comment on your previous post that concerns the military strength of the protagonists, as I am not party to such information.

However, looking at other ';players' in the region;

there's been quite a bit of sabre-rattling from Tehran.
However, any major attack against Israel could extract a heavy toll on Iran (backers of Hamas) and set off public anger against the clerical rulers of the nation, which is already suffering an economic crisis.

The financial woes are caused by the US crippling sanctions and mismanagement, and have caused Iranians to question the siphoning off of funds to Islamic proxy groups.

The country has seen increasing dissent because of social restrictions and the death last year of Mahasa Amin police custody.

I saw this in the comments on that video(and fact checked to make sure it is true). I was really surprised by the answers. It seems that there is a serious lack of care from Israelis when it comes to the killing of civilians in Gaza.

@SolomonEdGrundy agree. This has nothing to do with hamas or protecting Jewish people. It's all about wanting ti be the biggest bully I'm the middle East a.d creating his own people and taking as much land as possible. Netanyahu has no desire to protect his Jewish occupants and reinforced hannibal directive and blew up its own residents houses with the hostages and hamas in, instead of trying to get them out safely so as not to injur their soldiers.

There is definitely an approach in Israel of “might means right” - which is very different to “speak softly but carry a big stick”.
Might means right means that everyone else also has to weapon up. And then Israel has to weapon up further. It’s no way to live - for anyone - and will end badly.

@mydiaryisfull mentioned that the ambulances that were bombed had Hamas in them instead of the critically ill as there were no tubes, IV fluids etc. This may be true in fact. But surely one way of dealing with this particular issue would be to have IDF medics (plus, I would venture, international medics) at the Rafah crossing who could confirm that the ambulance occupants are critically ill before allowing them to pass.

So many ways of dealing with things rather than blowing up thousands of innocent people.

And regarding your benign predictions of how everyone will be happy and have good relations after this catastrophe - I’d like to think it could happen but I’m not sure how, for a very long time, as there will be so many orphaned and maimed and homeless children and an entire country to rebuild. WW1 resulted in WW2 don’t forget.
WW2 resulted in the UN and the ICC - both of which Israel is now blatantly disregarding. Don’t forget that either!

Maybe they don't have any drips/oxygen,intubation tubes. They must have been going through medical supplies pretty fast, perhaps that's why they needed to be moved?
