I don’t view Hamas as humans, they are pure evil.

However I am astonished at the atrocities Israel are committing and getting away with, I want to believe they are good and just defending themselves but it’s getting harder to do that. I have some questions if anyone could answer, I would be grateful. Before this gets deleted as that’s probably inevitable as mumsnet doesn’t like anyone questioning Israel.

Over 1,000 children have been killed since this all began. Why are Palestinian children’s lives not viewed as important as Israelis?

To the people who say Israel need to destroy Hamas. If Hamas had underground tunnels within Israel. Underneath Israeli homes, hospitals. Would you support the dropping of bombs and view the killing of innocent Israeli civilians as collateral damage and an unavoidable tragedy? Or do you think Israel, who has arguably the most efficient intelligence in the world, would find another way to obliterate them?

The UK and US wrongfully invaded Iraq killing thousands of civilians, some members of the army were raping women and in one case burnt a child alive. If at that time, Iraq had decided to bomb the UK killing thousands of civilians as a way to defend themselves, would you also support that?

The most recent tragedy last night at the hospital. Israel immediately took responsibility and were quite proud they had ‘killed terrorists’. They then deleted this tweet and backtracked saying it was Hamas, releasing audio between two members as ‘proof’.

How can they intercept phone calls between terrorists but failed to see the initial attack and massacre of innocent israelis coming? How is this considered as proof? The two people talking could be anyone.

Why would they claim responsibility if it was nothing to do with them?

What are the chances that a rocket misfires and just happens to land on a hospital that was supposed to be keeping hundreds of Palestinians safe?

So the Hamas version is that Israel bombed it, levelling it and killing roughly 500 people? But you're saying the media got that exact same version of events and reported it of its own accord, with no communication from Hamas, purely from things Israel said and did? And Hamas can communicate, despite apparently having no SM accounts? So what's the relevance of their not having SM accounts?

Oh wait, I remember, this is about the Gaza Ministry of Health not being run by Hamas.

No, I’m not saying that there was only one “exact same” version!
I haven’t seen any “Hamas” version that says what you are reporting as “Israel bombed it, levelled it and killing roughly 500 people”

If you have please link to that, preferably with a time stamp.

The media outlets reported what their press reporters on the ground saw and heard. This isn’t a case of Gaza Ministry (who you think are Hamas, they are actually PA) saying something and then news outlets repeating it.

The relevance of Hamas not being on SM is because SM is where the premature conclusion that Israel definitely did it took hold. That was where it happened and Hamas had no voice there. So your narrative that Hamas concocted a story and everyone bought it is impossible. The reason people on SM thought this was due to SM posts by Israel in the immediate aftermath and the analysis of their posts.

FreeCoathangers · 19/10/2023 23:12

I'm sorry, but the naivety it takes to think that Hamas have no social media presence is just beyond comprehension.

Pollyputhekettleon · 19/10/2023 23:14

@WhiteHorseSpirit

So do you not know what the Hamas version of events was or is? I thought it was widely reported that it was - Israel bombed hospital, it's been levelled, several hundred - later increased to 500 or so - people died.

'The media outlets reported what their press reporters on the ground saw and heard....The relevance of Hamas not being on SM is because SM is where the premature conclusion that Israel definitely did it took hold.'

How can both of those things be true?

Well yes, I didn't bother to go there, but that's an extraordinary claim. I can find representatives of any terrorist group on earth on social media in about 5 minutes. Maybe it's that official Hamas accounts are banned or something?

Given how twisted things are these days, I wouldn't put it past Hamas to have contacts at Al Jezera and other MSM outlets where they can send a Telegram message and "pow" there it is all over the news.

This isn’t a case of Gaza Ministry (who you think are Hamas, they are actually PA)

<facepalm>

Do you actually believe this or are you just trolling us for Lolz?

Any "ministry" in Gaza is run by Hamas and Hamas alone. The PA are in the West Bank.

@FreeCoathangers is correct, the Gaza Health Ministry’s health ministers have been appointed by Hamas since 2007.

On one side - The West and it's Allies

On the other side - Hamas and it's allies.

It will be a cold day in hell when I believe the latter over the former.

Thats not true im on the side of the thousands of innocent people being bombed by israil

Meshigenus · 20/10/2023 02:52

WhiteHorseSpirit · 19/10/2023 22:19

Sorry Polly, but you need to look at the immediate aftermath and who was saying what then to know how the “IDF did it” conclusion took hold so quickly.

Hamas didn’t make announcements in the immediate aftermath. The first they communicated was to deny when Israel pointed the finger at them.

This was after Israel had

  • claimed credit for it
  • deleted the above
  • posted an accusation that Hamas did it with a fake video
  • edited the above to remove the fake video
  • posted an apology for claiming credit saying they’d just repeated a “false” Reuters report- which Reuters said did not exist.

Then Hamas denied they had done it and implied Israel did because the hospital had been previously shelled nearby as a warning by IDF and evacuation calls from IDF.

Now we are all in position of having to wait for independent analysis and verification of who did it, or how it happened if an accident.

Edited

When did Israel claim credit for it?
There was one right wing Israeli "influencer" called Hananya Naftali, who has no official position in the Israeli government and no access to any additional infomration that the rest of us have as well who posted soemthing.
Please show where the State of Israel, or any official source for that matter, claimed responsibility and hten posted an apology?
(I know you won't because you can't. This was Islamic jihad however much you desperately want it to be Israel)

If you read that thread you'll see she was discussing who to believe. The innocent people being bombed aren't really participating in spreading narratives about who's bombing where.

Because of that antisemitic trope that Jews/Israel control the media.
But there's zero doubt who controls Al Jazeera.
Next you'll be saying that it's hypocritical to say that Pravda might be controlled by putin.

Yes, "Gaza Health Ministry" is absolutely Hamas.

Not the Palestinian Authority at all!

Who's claiming that? 🤦‍♂️

Attached is the structure of Hamas.

The Palestinian Authority doesn't control or govern Gaza. Hamas does and their structure is known - see Ministries which includes Gaza Health Ministry.

Attachments included from various reputable UK news sources including Guardian and Financial Times.

There's no doubt they do report Hamas pointing the finger at Israel in addition to pro-Palestinian accounts.

No doubt Hamas govern Gaza. Palestinian Authority only has partial control of West Bank.

Financial Times screenshot is of a different incident, so not the hospital in Gaza. But it highlights the point Hamas and pro-Palestinian accounts work in tandem.

AFP have already said the deaths were 10-50 people. It was a hoax by Hamas for the gullible, that's how they operate.

No 3rd party will ever be able to give a version of events that the people on Hamas side agree with or the people not on Hamas side agree with.

Indeed.
The number of death didn't match, the amount of damage didn't match, very little did. However many support the death cult that is Hamas. If any if these Western Supporters encountered Hamas they would slaughter them too.

Disgusting to see a strike on a church in gaza overnight where people where sheltering

Following the strike, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchy of Jerusalem condemned the attack and said it would "not abandon its religious and humanitarian duty" to provide assistance.
Ibrahim Jahshan, a caretaker at the church, said he was there when the blast happened.
He told Sky's partner network NBC: "We didn't leave our church. We leave our house, we leave our homes, but we will die here.
"No one needs war, and the Christians here don't have any bomb, any guns. Most of us here are sick and old and children."

Israel-Hamas war live updates: Biden announces Gaza aid deal as Israel trip is overshadowed by hospital blast

President Joe Biden has returned from Israel and announced an aid deal for Gaza. NBC News is providing live updates.

FreeCoathangers · 20/10/2023 08:56

It's interesting to note that the Church hit last night and the "Anglican" Hospital the other night. There are less than 1000 Christians in Gaza, making up 0.2% of the population.
