Conflict in the Middle East

To think Hamas have given Israel the excuse they were looking for?

MistyMooPup · 10/10/2023 12:14

Not all of Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will obliterate Hamas. But undoubtedly hundred if not thousands of civilians will now be killed.

I’m not sure what Hamas thought the end game if this would be? What have the Iranians convinced them of? This was a sophisticated operation, outside help was given for definite.

I’m not sure it’s possible to rationalise with dehumanised terrorists, neither am I sure what the end game will be, but I just can’t understand what Hamas expected if not a total war/strikes from Israel in retaliation.

I think most intelligent people realise that it's perfectly acceptable to peacefully protest and express your views. The above is so way beyond that, I genuinely don't know what to say other than I hope that the other protesters objected loudly and clearly.

I'm so sorry @BlurredEdges that you have to see this in the UK. It's disgusting.

Indeed, people are smiling and marching alongside this woman. They don't appear to be calling her out for its message! I hope the police arrest her. She appears quite proud to display her hatred.

She wasn't arrested.

She is fully supported by all of those around her.

I saw and heard things like this with my own eyes/ ears yesterday (I would not have chosen to be in Central London yesterday, all of my trains home were cancelled on Friday and Saturday morning).

I can no longer take my own children into their own city centre .

I'm ashamed for the UK.

Thank you @bluegentian

@25milesfromhome I hope you don't mind me reposting your picture. This is the reality of these 'protests'.

Look at how gleeful that blonde woman is. Look at her delight as she holds an openly genocidal placard, confident and happy to do that on the streets on London, supported and surrounded by those who agree.

I'm a Jewish Londoner. How the fuck do you think we feel?

Fuck anyone who supports this.

Ffs

EasternStandard · 22/10/2023 18:54

At that image, I have no words

Maireas · 22/10/2023 18:55

Thousands there - why didn't anyone stop her?
So shocking.

There she is, in the UK, on plain sight with people walking alongside her smiling with her, it's disgusting.
She obviously felt her message was ok amongst those walking next to her!

Anti semitism hate crimes up 1350% and Islamophobic offences up 140% in London since the terrorist attacks.

This has the potential to spiral dangerously out of control across many other countries.

Maireas · 22/10/2023 19:01

Utterly deplorable.
I thought the images of the hang gliders were bad enough.

FebruaryOnMyMind · 22/10/2023 19:01

I would never march alongside anyone with such a vile genocidal message so proudly displayed. Shame on those who walked with her.

25milesfromhome · 22/10/2023 19:02

Nothing will happen to her @BlurredEdges , she was just having a nice day out. My sister had to walk past Trafalgar Square yesterday as it was full of people letting off fireworks and smoke bombs, while chanting antisemitic slogans. The police stood by and did nothing, (although I think they might have arrested a few later). She felt incredibly threatened and it is not ok that Jewish people’s fears are being minimised. Stop saying “But, but…” when antisemitism is right in front of you.

Indeed, it needs calling out everywhere. People need to call out those that wave these banners alongside them.

Incitement to racial hatred.
This offence refers to: deliberately provoking hatred of a racial group. distributing racist material to the public. making inflammatory public speeches.

How much more evidence do people need? In plain sight, in our capital city, seriously? I was horrified by the report of the tube train driver. I would not have felt safe in that train and I'm not Jewish.

That's what the police were there for surely? There were 100000 people there, the vast, vast majority because they know that war crimes are wrong and they don't want their country associated with a terrorist state. Absolutely anyone being antisemitic should be arrested but everyone else should be able to protest.

She was probably right - otherwise someone would have had the sense to grab it out of her hands and rip it up

I do get very tired of the constant claims that the vast majority who attend these things would be "horrified" at such an image, when the grinning faces show it's just not so

Most of all though, I'm just so sorry you've been subjected to more hate, @BlurredEdges. I realise it's not much use at the time, but please be assured some of us will always stand beside you and call out this filth

BlurredEdges
There are some of us who stand firmly behind you. Who can see the difference between right and wrong.

Yes. I have no words to express my anguish. I used to have this "yeah, Palestinians" default setting and a vague mistrust of Israel. Not any more.

Indeed. When I see people marching alongside people like this with their anti semitic signs, chanting and singing then it looks like it's taken to be OK....otherwise they would call it out surely? Why not tell her to take it down since its supposed to be a peace protest not an incitement to violence against Jewish people 🤔

and call out the recent terror attacks as unacceptable, not in the spirit of Islam, not in the name of the Gazan population, not supported by anyone in their right fucking mind.

These images also do nothing for the Palestinian cause - it simply turns off sympathy for the protesters from the wider populace.

That woman is no supporter of the Palestinian cause she is simply a clear cut anti semite.

What also upsets me is that in the unlikely event she was ever arrested then she would be the first to squeal about freedom of speech and her human rights whereas if she was a petrified mother on a kibbutz trying to protect her children lives as terrorists break down her door or a petrified mother in Gaza trying to protect her child as explosions threaten to blow in her door then she might actually understand the true meaning of human rights.

That's mad. What was it about a country comminting war crimes, crimes against humanity and becoming a terrorist state that made you trust them more?

I'm really curious about what it about a country that has politicians openly saying that Gazan children are not equal to Israeli children and that Gazan children brought this upon themselves makes you go yeah, these guys are good guys! Or the Israeli pm calling Palestinians 'children of darkness'? Or them saying that they are going for damage over accuracy, so admitting that they don't give a shit about those Gazan children 'who brought it on themselves?' Like to me they are clearly blood thirsty criminals but all of this has made you trust them more? Why?
