Come on in, collect the Grolsch bottle tops for your DM shoes at the door

We're going all-out 80s for the continuation of the Mass Summer Diffment Project: John Hughes films playing back-to-back and on BESH FM, DJ ChoCho will be playing our all-time 80s faves, from New Romantics to Synth to Goth to Hair Metal to Pop and back again (no Fields of The Nephilim, mind). Our bartenders and waiters are Ducky from Pretty in Pink, Ralph Macchio (the Karate Kid) and Corey Haim (back from the dead especially for us) and unlike most of the real 80s, we actually get to booze!

Here's hoping the authentic 80s vibe will trick our bodies into thinking we've got the ovaries of teenagers!

(Not to mention tricking them into being super skinny and able to eat whatever we want and staying that way!)

There's plenty of Babycham and Ice Magic to pour over ice-cream in the Pit and Metal Mickey will bring them to the wretched at the click of a finger.

So whaddya waiting for? Slip on the ra-ra skirts, slap on the blue eyeliner and let's get winning those baybeez! Last one in the pool's a psycho hose beast!

To kick things off I shall play one of my fave choons from the 80s - Double Dutch by Malcom McLaren (RIP). Ooooh, I needs me a good sit-down now

OP posts:
Medee · 06/07/2010 19:04

It's always best to read in full before posting - it's such a rollercoaster in here.

Nice new thread, Scorp, could we have Christian Slater (as he was) as a part-time barman too?

Scorpette · 06/07/2010 19:07

Aye, why not? Mmmmmm, young Christian Slater

OP posts:
saltyair · 06/07/2010 19:19

I know I do, I'm so sorry if I have added to any pain. It's no excuse, but I was just desperate to post my good wishes. I could go on to say how shitty I feel, but focus is gin not my incompetence.

ChoChoSan · 06/07/2010 19:26

Scorps I loves you, I does...most excellent choice..."That's them dancing!!"

Cass are the medics going to start scrutinising you more closely now your man is more or less in the clear?

Orchid12 · 06/07/2010 19:33

Nice work on the 80's theme. Loving the Grolsch bottle tops and ice magic. Oh yeah!

Am feeling a little even though I was expecting it - came home from work and POAS to confirm lack of updiffment and the need for the jizz test before we paid out £60 for it. I knew I wasn't pregnant but I so hate getting that single line. Gahhh. So, am in need of some strong booze and some nice men to ogle.

Cass thanks for the link to the test results. Will come back when we have the results through and check it out. What's the plan for you next then?

ginhag · 06/07/2010 19:40

Oh salty please don't beat yourself up mate...you're feeling shite enough already. It's fine, I know you just read news and rushed to post

tis true the fred can move quickly though...and not always in a good way.

News from me. Bleeding has slowed a lot,and still no pain. This is Good. But obv not good enough that I have stopped shitting myself, it was really scary.

Am proud as managed to do what was needed at work (writing some extremely happy stuff for a Very Important Project) which was...umm..challenging in current state of mind. cam it's the thing mr gin n I told you about when you were in briz,if you remember...

I am knackered and blue and feel fucking weird and I have NO IDEA WTF IS GOING ON. But you lot and your candles have really warmed my heart and made me feel loved

saltyair · 06/07/2010 19:52

gin love please just slap me!

So please bleeding has slowed - when do you go to EPU? Early doors I hope?

You are amazing to have been effective at work - superhero like in fact!

Of course you are feeling shite and weird. Big double hard hugs.

Casserole · 06/07/2010 19:54

Well, I really don't know what happens next. Can any of you tell me?? We've got another GP appt on the 22nd (the earliest was end of next week and we have the funeral and then in-laws staying) at which I think they will refer us to clinic.

Anything else I should be asking / pushing for pliz?

Don't worry salty we've all been there. It's the sort of mistake you only make once!

Ginster have a wagon wheel.

ginhag · 06/07/2010 20:00
PollyPoo · 06/07/2010 20:02

GinLush candle lit in zumerset for you, to join up with Aries. Nuffink I can say will make it all better, but lots of thinking, hoping and praying going on for you. XXXXXXXX

Excellent choice of new palace Scropey, lovin the 80s theme. . How were the little pricks today? Are you Go for MSDP? It must be your turn this month surely?

cass good news on jizz results. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, got banging headache and there is loads to catch up on. X

saltyair · 06/07/2010 20:06

Have lit candle shaped like pineapple in Bristol. It smells of pineapple too. Which is nice.

saltyair · 06/07/2010 20:07

...mmmmm....custard......

Muser · 06/07/2010 20:08

I am on my way home and will add a London candle soon. I love the idea of all these candles willing ginbaby to hold on.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 06/07/2010 20:13

Adding SW London candle.

Love the new place Scorps!

TwinkleToes76 · 06/07/2010 20:25

Have added a norf London candle for all the BOCs that need it.

ginhag · 06/07/2010 20:27

Suddenly thought I should really light a candle or 2 myself so am sitting here looking at them and thinking about the power of the beshlove.

Ariesgirl · 06/07/2010 20:30

Am staring mesmerised at my stubbornly flickery candle, which hasn't gone out and hoping and praying it's a good sign. It's in one of those little glass pots with shapes on and I can see it through the Christmas trees.

Join in everyone (whatever your beliefs):
So light up the fooiiirrre (comedy Cornish accent) and let the flame burn
Open the door let Beshes return
Take seeds of their spirit let the baybees grow
Tell people of Beshes, let the love grow

[with apologies to Come and Praise (primary edition)]

Now I wasn't the only one to sing that at school was I?

Hey, I'd love a Babycham. Am enjoying the new place, but but must insist you play Gold often. I have had an insanely busy day but have trawled through thread at top speed and am up to date, I think

extremesitting · 06/07/2010 20:31

Mahoosive candle on the go in Clifton x

PollyPoo · 06/07/2010 20:33

Aries you just made me cry!

RunLyraRun · 06/07/2010 20:35

Right , going to tell you about the Hycosy now. The bit where they clamped my cervix hurt. The bit where they put the balloon through my cervix hurt like buggery (nothing has been in or out that way before). I actually cried out in pain/writhed around at the bit where they squirted the solution up my tubes - pain not caused by blockage, as it turns out they are both clear (that's the good news part of this post!)

I went hot/dizzy/faint/sicky, and was carted off to a cubicle to recover. HO joined me at that point. He said I was a very odd grey/green colour, and my BP was 80/50, so was in shock, basically. The cramping pain was much worse than period pains (or maybe I'm usually very lucky in that regard). Gradually recovered over the course of an hour. So so glad HO was with me, to drive me home and feed me ginger cake and make lots of cups of tea.

Am fine now. I must be v.soft. How could I ever cope with childbirth?
