Bellaby - Indonesia holiday sounds fab, I am much jealous!

Also at all this talk of festivalshenanigans. DH and I are not going to any this year then again we did only just get married and swan off to Italy so you can't do everything!

Cavemum - I'm impressed at your racing knowledge - let us know if you win!

Anyway, at what point do we have to start a new thread then?
Also noticed the list is REALLY long now! have to pagedown about 4 times to read it all.
do people think we should perhaps abbreviate it to only put those still TTC or waiting etc, plus just the most recent graduates (last 2 months maybe) and those still posting, and not keep re-listing all the other graduates?
thoughts?

SaorAlba · 15/06/2010 12:47

Is anyone else noticing how close to the end of the thread we're getting? Who's going to start the next one?

Cloaky is it your turn to make a thread? Sorry about ERTD arriving, hopefully your long cycle this month is just a blip and you'll be back to normal now.

Thanks for the tips Cavemum, DP gave me access to his online betting account a few weeks ago so I've had a wee bet. I'll let you know which one I bet on if it wins

Flick I haven't had many two day hangovers, but they're not pleasant. 3 days seems a little excessive though, just how many mojitos did you have? My DP is really into mojitos at the moment and is buying mint and limes every weekend. Havana Rum is ridiculously expensive though, so I'm hoping to divert him to something cheaper.

Evil Tis nice to hear from you. Sorry ERTD has not shown up yet. There's still another few days of this thread to go though, so fingers crossed your body takes note and sorts itself out.

Hi there alien, almostknockedup and anyone I've missed. [waves]

I'm just settling in to my first 2ww. I'm not too hopeful as it's my first month off the pill after 8 years on hormonal contraception, and my CM seems to have been completely random this cycle. I have a tendency to get obsessed about things (hence the amount of time I'm spending on MN) so I have no plans to temp until we've been trying for at least three six months. I do, however, have a cute mobile phone app that keeps track of SWI and cycles.

If this cycle ends up being a normal-ish length then we'll be on holiday in France at SWI time next cycle, which will give us much more time to TTC. At the moment with DP's physical job and lots of extra overtime hours he's just too lazy knackered to SWI during the week at all very often.

SaorAlba · 15/06/2010 12:50

Cross post penguin Hi there!

CaveMum · 15/06/2010 13:28

Hi all, Ascot is nearly here [excited emotcion]!

penguin I work in racing so have to a least pretend I know what I'm talking about

The thread is getting perilously close to the end, but we musnt be wasteful! I think the theory goes that whoever starts the new thread will get a BFP before it finishes. But whoever does start it must remember to put a link on this thread so we know where to find it!

Also points are given for imaginative thread names, but it must contain "first time frolickers"!

I'm sure we will need a new thread before the day is over.

zippys · 15/06/2010 14:04

Hi everyone, I have been away for a couple of days so need to now catch up. We went away for the night on sunday and then went shopping on Monday (need new clothes as old ones now getting far too big ). It was lovely and took my mind away from TTC which is a first!!

Penguin With regards to the thread I am pretty much doomed not to fall pregnant so I wont start the new one, I feel someone with higher odds should. With regards to the actual list itself I would prefer to keep all the BFP's on but that maybe because I have been here since the third one so everyone on the list is special, but I appreciate not everyone is a barren hag and most people only stick around for a few months, so I will go with the majority.

Cavemum sorry to hear the news, I know you are not dwelling on so I wont. But I just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you.

Flick I hope you are feeling better now, that sounds like one horrible hangover ,it could be worse due to the sugar?

Kaloki sorry to hear about ERTD - at least you now know. Good Luck with the test.

Evil sorry to hear no ERTD yet I am keeping my fingers crossed it appears before the end of the thread.

Soar good luck with 2ww, you seem to have a good approach so far. But dont worry there will be times when you totally obsess.

No real news from me, got infertility appointment next week. In middle of 2ww, ERTD due around the weekend. No symptoms at all so pretty certain I am not pg. In fact had no ovilation signs this month so dont think I OV'd.

Hi to everyone else - sorry run out of time again.

pixiestix · 15/06/2010 14:42

"everyone on the list is special"

[sniffs and hugs Zippys]

Kaloki · 15/06/2010 15:03

I could start the next thread, though I broke the magic last time round

I have mixed feelings on shortening the list, on the one hand it would be more practical, on the other it'd be sad to lose the grads.

I do a bit of web design though, so if we wanted I could put together a page showing who has gone before and we could just link to it? Seeing as we'll all be going through parenthood together it might be nice to keep that link betweeen us.

Muser · 15/06/2010 15:07

Why not keep the full grads list for the first post, but shorten it for the daily ones? Best of both worlds.

SaorAlba · 15/06/2010 16:46

Muser may have come up with the ideal solution.

I'm thinking it would be sad to lose the grads, especially because only about 4 of them have actually given birth so far.

SaorAlba · 15/06/2010 16:54

Oops, didn't mean to press 'post'.

Just been going through how much money we would have if I was on maternity leave. The Directgov website was difficult but I persevered. I reckon that my weekly earnings before tax are currently £448. For the first six weeks I'd therefore get £403 (with my two jobs it works out at this, I think). For the next 33 weeks I'd get £241.

The drop from £448 to £241 stunned me slightly. However, I then discovered that with working tax credits, child tax credits and child benefit it would go up to £336, which is a bit more manageable.

I sat down this morning and wrote out a list of things to do in the house over the next couple of days. I haven't even started on the list as I've been too busy nosy-ing at money related things. I did write out monthly budgets for the next 12 months though. Hopefully this is all wasted effort and I'll have to re-write all the budgets because of a BFP .

felicityFlick · 15/06/2010 17:22

Am off to bed now frolickers- looking forward to logging on to a new home tomorrow morning If there isn't one I will make us somewhere nice to live. Have a good rest of the day xx

zippys · 15/06/2010 17:44

Hugs back to pixiestix

Love that idea Muser - best of both worlds.

Kaloki you really are a talented little thing - making dresses and website design. I am the least creative person I know!!

SoarAlba - v impressed with your budgeting skills. We dont budget. I hate to think of the drop if I ever get my BFP but it will be worth it.

On that note the fertility appointment doesnt seem to have worked its magic this time Just been to the loo (TMI alert)and wiped and had spotting. So not only is ERTD on its way but its chuffing early and so day '21' test will be not 7 days before ARGGH. So not only it my body stupid enough to not be abele to fall pregant but also so stupid it wont even behave for test .

OneOf8 · 15/06/2010 18:16

Hi SaorAlba just was checking in to see how the lovely ladies are doing, and noticed you state you have two jobs - just to avoid any wasted efforts in your budgeting, if they are two completely seperate employers you would need to work out the SMP twice/seperately, as would be assessed via two different payrolls departments/businesses.

This may work in your favour, but may mean a little "balancing" to bulk your 2nd job to earn over the minimum weekly requirement.

This is what I had to do, as my due date means my qualifying period falls during school holiday - which results in me almost missing the qualifying weekly pay minimum.

Kaloki - cant recall if I commented, but your dress is beautiful! You have to post pictures of the final dress/pictures from the wedding as will be stunning! (please please smiley!)

Zippy hope you get some answers soon

Hello to everyone else!

CaveMum · 15/06/2010 18:27

Evening ladies, pleased to report my selections from earlier today resulted in 2 wins and a place, so I'm happy!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow's tips!

Look forward to seeing the shiny new thread soon!

Ariesgirl · 15/06/2010 18:56

Muser's very clever and sensible. Her idea is a good one I think.

CavieWavie, sorry I didn't see your news yesterday and I know you're putting a brave face, but just wanted to say that sucks. Am thinking of you.

Zippys - you too my sweet.

After my utter balls up with creating the last thread, I've lost confidence! Remember the fiasco? I went blubbing to MN Towers to ask them to take it off. But can I make a suggestion, seeing as it was my turn! If someone cleverer and funnier than me wants to take it on can the title guest star our friend Agnes Cactus and feature the acronym ERTD? Oh PLEASE!

luckyseven · 15/06/2010 19:13

What about First Time Frolickers and Agnes Cactus versus the Evil Red Tide of Doom?
Great replacement for AF ariesgirl
(sorry to use up a precious post i just couldn't resist!

CaveMum · 15/06/2010 20:07

luckyseven that sounds fab! I vote for your suggestion - quick someone put up the new thread and post a link before we run out of posts!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Aries - thanks chuck

Ariesgirl · 15/06/2010 20:08

How about "The Return of the First Time Frolickers guest starring our friend Agnyss Cactus - join us as we wage war against the Evil Red Tide of Doom (hereafter known as ERTD)"?

For anyone old and new trying to conceive their first child: LIST

(homage to Agnyss Deyn and the trendy way of spelling it)

Right, I'm going to do it. NO ONE better beat me to it!

saltyair · 15/06/2010 20:12

Aries !!! claps hands to face in delight

Can I play?

Muser · 15/06/2010 20:12

It may be a bit long, but go for it!

Ariesgirl · 15/06/2010 20:14

I've done it! It fits! My first thread ! See you over there!!

Ariesgirl · 15/06/2010 20:19

Yes, Salty you can play . Come over to my proud new thread.

saltyair · 15/06/2010 20:25

So what's the story morning glory-aries is there any gin?

Can I do random symptom spotting? I've got a good one!!
