A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

Ariesgirl · 10/06/2010 16:19

Now I feel horrible and thoughtless. Sorry Bellaby . I am crap (repeats 1,000 times). Hope everything settles down soon and you can crack on with it. Hugs.

Ariesgirl · 10/06/2010 16:21

Shit. And I didn't even read the first part of your post. I'm so sorry.

Kaloki · 10/06/2010 16:52

Oh bellaby so sorry to hear that!!

Bellaby · 10/06/2010 17:05

Don't worry Aries - your comment made me laugh.

CaveMum · 10/06/2010 17:15

Really sorry to hear your news bellaby. Sending lots of virtual (((hugs))) and chocolate your way.

Having a very funny time of it at the moment: had all the symptoms that AF was imminent earlier this week and so far she is a no show! So I am 21 days and counting at the moment - perhaps a normal length cycle is on the cards?!

Before anyone suggests I POAS I would just add that if I were pregnant I'd be changing my name to Mary and moving to Bethlehem, if you get my drift .

Right dance lesson at 6 so must dash.

cherrycobbler · 10/06/2010 17:24

oh bellaby, am so sorry to hear that. expensive bottle of wine and evening in with the DH sounds V Good Idea. take care of yourself.

muser you are a list wizard. also, didn't know about your ectopic - really sorry to hear you had to go through all that, that truly sucks (gross understatement I know). was it recent? are you feeling okish now? (no need to answer if you'd rather not).

haloflo · 10/06/2010 17:27

Bellaby I'm so so sorry for you and your DH. Make sure you and DH look after each other. I went back to work quickly (although I had a weekend too) and although the first couple of hours was a bit overwhelming it really helped me get back to normal. Take each day at a time and remember it was nothing you did. Remember we will all be here for you. xxxxx

I'll be back on soon to catch up with everyone properly.

PS Kaloki - day 41 eh? When you testing again?

Kaloki · 10/06/2010 18:10

Probably tomorrow, not feeling too hopeful though, bodies been through the mill a bit recently.

CaveMum · 10/06/2010 20:59

Hello all, back from my dance lesson and have just reread my last post and realised I made very little sense!

Basically, based on cycle 1 AF should gave been due on Monday. I had the usual cramps etc for 2 days but there has been no other sign. The cramps have totally gone though I've had some pretty hefty headaches today.

My temps have been all over the shop this month - fertility friend has not been able to identify ovulation as they've been so up and down.

Goodness only knows what my body is up to at the moment! Just a question of playing a waiting game I guess.

Muser · 10/06/2010 22:24

My ectopic was diagnosed in Feb cherrycobbler. I was lucky and didn't need surgery, treated with drugs instead. It was awful and still is at times, but the raw pain has gone. It just hits me sometimes.

Having had two losses I'm not quite as carefree about this ttc lark. But hopefully it'll be third time lucky.

zippys · 10/06/2010 23:16

Oh bella, I am so sorry. Massive hugs. Hope you are enjoying your wine. We are here if you need us. X

felicityFlick · 11/06/2010 02:01

bella I'm so sad to read your news. Take it easy and like the other girls have said we are all here for you. Lots and lots of love xxxxx

LankyLegs · 11/06/2010 08:48

Bellaby just wanted to add my sorry. I can't imagine how you are feeling. Sending a big virtual hug and huge amounts of chocolate, sushi, cured meats and soft cheese your way.....

Make sue you treat yourself this weekend and get DH to take care of you. I hope you thoroughly enjoy that wine young lady. You deserve it.

Muser sorry to hear about your losses too.... I totally understand how it musn't be as carefree as it could be.

almostknockedupgirl · 11/06/2010 10:58

Crikey, things move quickly round these parts.

Bellaby, so sorry to hear what's happened. Big virtual hugs from me.

Kaloki, your wedding sounds awesome! And your dress is beautiful.

zippy I don't know how you're managing to keep schtum. I never could!

, and sheepishly admits to not even thinking of completely abstaining from alcohol while in the trying phase. There's still too much in the wine rack to get through...

I had my mirena out yesterday, and am anticipating my period on Monday, and then I'll be into cycle 1 at last! Bring it on!

Trying my hand at the list update...

Kaloki · 11/06/2010 11:37

Just done a test and got a BFN. Now totally confused

almostknockedupgirl Just so you know, I took 4 months to get my cycles to settle down after the mirena.

almostknockedupgirl · 11/06/2010 11:55

Sorry about the BFN Kaloki and thanks for the info. I know it could take a while post-mirena, but I continued to have periods and ovulate while I had it in (I was not one of those lucky period-free ladies, just period-lite), so I'm assuming (maybe wrongly!) that things will continue as they were now that it is out.

And anyway, it's just nice to finally be actually trying, as opposed to planning to try

Kaloki · 11/06/2010 11:57

Definitely Let's hope that you wont be trying too long!

zippys · 11/06/2010 12:10

Kaloki sorry to hear about BFN - have you tried different brands? Or it could be a skipped AF like I had in January. I know how hard it is. You have that glint of hope with being so late but then I knew deep down that I wasnt Prengant. You could try a trip to the docs for a blood test.

Oh by the way I think your dress is lovely and your colour scheme sounds fab.

I have seen this one

(hope link works never done one before. I quite like the colour but also like the idea of it in ivory but wearing red shoes!

superpenguin · 11/06/2010 13:44

zippys the link goes to a slideshow of many dresses so can't tell which one you mean, although they are all beautiful!

kaloki getting married in a zoo is tres cool. sorry to hear about your BFN.

but good news everybody... - no not that good.
but It's FRIDAY!!! Bring on the weekend.

LankyLegs · 11/06/2010 13:49

Zippys that is beautiful! Brings back wedding planning memories from last year! Very excited for you. Love the idea of red shoes under the dress!

Kaloki sorry about BFN. Hate the fact that our bodies play tricks with us. Focus on that lovely dress of yours instead!

Ok I am not normally this obsessive bad but just googled and found this site looks American and not sure how helpful but its keeping me occupied in the 2WW (although convinced AF is on the way)

God I hate google for feeding my 2WW mentalness. I really hope they dont do regular internet checks at work either as they would find a lot of conception related searches!

haloflo · 11/06/2010 16:55

Happy Friday! I have finished work for the weekend nice and early so thought i'd catch up with everyone.

The 2ww isn't getting me too down although i'm convinced AF is just around the corner. My lower back aches which usually means its not too far away. If its not here in a week i'll start wondering.

I've made loads of plans next week anyway (night out Sat, Green Day in manchester on Wed and then I'm hosting a world cup party on Friday) so if AF arrives at least I can enjoy all those to the max.
almostknockedup Thats great news about your coil being out. I bet you can't wait to get going!

lanky Step away from that site!! I've wasted hours ages on that site. You have any symptoms though? Go on you can tell us! If you don't get chance to post I hope you have an amazing time in Tuscany and come back to a BFP.

womanly Sorry the specialist wasn't much help. Where do you go from here? You waiting on the test results? Congrats to your friend, i'm glad everything worked out ok.

soaralba I'm glad SWI has picked up. My DP likes a drink too & i've not yet put him on vitamins. I kind of feel that they are a bit unneccassary as men have been making babies for years without them. I should ask the grads if they think they made a difference.

zippys Good work on the SWI. I had no physical ov signs the month I got my BFP so I hope the egg just snuck out quietly. Well done on your weightloss. Even if there is a way to go you should be proud . All those dresses look beautiful . Let us know which one you meant.

kaloki So sorry about the BFN. Maybe with all thats been going on your ov was delayed. Your body giving anything away about where you on your cycle?

felicity I hope you aren't too busy & are getting through your work.

bellaby If you went back to work today I hope it was ok. Thinking of you.
Big hello to everyone else.

With alcohol I've cut down a bit but I think I've been cutting down over the past year as i've started to get bored of nights each week, being hungover and the same rubbish pubs in town. Maybe i'm getting old. I still drink a couple of beers on the weekend either in the pub or at home though and the only reasons I would quit are if I was pg or if I ever manage to get serious about weightloss. I think everyone should do what they feel is best to keep themselves sane though.

In other news I bought the massive box of folic acid from Boots. I've gone through 2 boxes with 56 in (and I miss probably 2 or 3 each week) so I decided to go for the box with 180 tablets in. Heres hoping I don't need to buy another packet.

Anyone thinking of POAS this weekend? Also I think we need to change the word we use for our periods! AF is just so twee and as i've said before it's my name. Any suggestions?

Ariesgirl · 11/06/2010 17:09

The evil red tide of doom? (ERTD)
Tis called the droid elsewhere, but that would be STEALING!

I hate AF as well.

I hate AF as well! When I type it I just think 'AF' as in the letters cos it makes me want to puke if I think about what it actually stands for!

All of my work is finished for the year- yipeee!! Well, I still have to go to work and teach lessons and stuff but all of my marking and reports are finally done so I feel free

All of your plans sound fun flo! I am so excited about the world cup too and would love a party! It's a pain though because of the time difference it is on soooo late here. Tonight's game doesn't kick off until 2.30am but we have a work party tonight (the theme is 'tight and bright' how hideous!) so we will watch it out and about which should be fun. Not being in England makes me feel really patriotic and even more excited! I have been being a bit better on my diet over teh past three weeks ( i got really crap for ages!) and have lost 9lbs, I really want to loose another 5 and then I will have lost a stone which is my aim but with my holiday rapidly creeping up on me it's not looking likely! How are you getting on with your running? I have been swimming lots as running is just too much like hard work for me! I envy anyone who runs as I would love too but am not good at keeping going when I am all hot and out of breath!

Hope you're doing ok bella Have been thinking of you and like flo said hope your return to work (if you went) was ok xxxx

Your poor body kaloki, it does sound like it's been through the mill a bit with your back, stomach bug and also stress. Maybe it's just having a little rest and gearing up to ov? I know that when I had tonsillitis back in Jan and was on killer strength antibiotics my ovulation was hugely delayed (if I ovulated at all that is as I wanted charting then) and my cycle was 57 days.

zippys, all of those dresses are gorgeous! My friend had a Benjamin Roberts dress at her wedding and she looked beautful. I'm not sure which one you meant though as there are 4 on the page.

almost hope ERTD ;) arrives on time on Monday and then you can get on with SWI!

With the drinking thing, I've cut down too but not really intentionally- like others have said, I just can't hack it anymore and the hangovers I get are just revolting! I am a bit scared of feeling really rough so I am better at limiting myself these days! I only drink at weekends now as wine is just so expensive to buy here that we never put it in with our shopping like he would do at home I suppose it is a good thing though!

Hi to everyone else, it's quiet here with lots of frolickers on their holiday!

Be back tomorrow- send non hangover vibes this way for my party tonight xxx
