The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

Hello ladies!!! Long time and no visit from me! Have tried the sit (or lie) back approach for the last couple of months as felt I was obsessing about ttc and as this has not worked thought I would come back on here and feel normal or as near normal as possible!

Last month I went to the doctors and she sorted blood tests and internal scan which was great that she also felt it would benefit me. All results came back as normal so feel quite relieved. So as I am now on number 11 cycle have got all fingers crossed that we have a lucky one! There have been so many BFP's on here so I am looking forward to reading through the posts and having a proper catch up. Please could someone update my stats to be on the list again properly?

TTC#1 Cycle11 UCL25-28 CD8

Thank you!!

womanlytales · 08/06/2010 12:22

Hello everyone,
MrsWajs I feel your excitement - yeah! Our hols is in July and I also managed to book another yesterday for September..
halo Yes the D21 is to check progesterone levels to confirm ovulation -- given that I am not sure when I am ovulating, not sure how reliable the D21 reading is....hope to clarify this with specialist appt tom.
lanky the lead up to the procedure was pretty scary but the actual procedure wasn't.
Also my GP is a nice chap - he's just said that my case is too complex for him to advice on and its best I am in the hands of a specialist. Am building a list of qs to ask the specialist just to get some sense of where my body is at.
It's CD19 and yesterday [TMI ALERT] I saw quite a bit of ewcm so our swiathon continues though due to DH's health we didn't manage every other day as planned. As each day passes I fall into that dreadful no man's land where the only thing to do is wait for AF and go crazy hoping for a bfp. SIGH!

felicityFlick · 08/06/2010 13:36

Hello Loves,

I am loving all of this holiday talk I have only 2 weeks (tomorrow) left at school. Hence why I have not been on much as it is really busy at the min with writing reports and marking etc. I do read everyday but don't seem to get round to posting at the min so have made it my mission to post quickly this evening (my time!) and will try and do the list tomorrow- I imagine it is a bit more confusing when we don't do it for a few days and the poor person who does it has to plus 2 or 3 instead of 1 ;) Thanks flo! Not much news from me- am getting very excited that this is my last cycle of non-ttc! I should be ovulating soon so am temping like a mad thing and wishing the month away. I am so prepared with all of my reserach that I am starting to feel a bit nervous now!

I have still not said congratulations to pips!!! Yay- so pleased for you!! I was wondering whether you might pop back with some good news soon : ) It will be interesting to find out how far along you are due to your long cycle. You should definitely get an early dating scan All we need now is for dinky to pop back and tell us the same!

Welcome to almost and sarahavon! and lipstie!!! Welcome back I'll add you to the list tomorrow , Glad all of your tests have come back normal- that must be a real relief.

Sorry you are still having a stressful time kaloki and that you're still feeing poorly. You lie on that sofa and rest up- you will need all of your energy for your wedding planning! Only 3 months to go now!

Talking of weddings... any sign of your ring yet zippys?! You must be about to burst with the news now! You've done so well to keep it a secret in RL (that's if you have?!!) I'm certyain I would have spilled the beans by now! Sorry to hear about the post code lottery that you spoke of the other day Is there no way that you could try and wangle it? I am still thinking you won't need to worry about all of this though and you'll get your BFP before. Hope the sickness is still at bay?

Glad you're keeping yourself busy flo. 2WW's a a killer. My luteal phase has been 18 days for three months now so I have nearly a 3WW- RUBBISH!! So glad you are feeling a bit more cheerful too. It was horrid to hear you so down the other day as you are usually such a ray of sunshine on our thread. I think you have handled everything so well and you're a real inspiration- make sure that you are still taking it easy and being kind to yourself xxx

cherry- glad you had a lovely holiday! I take it there were no swimming mishaps that we spoke of before you went?! ;) what a way to celebrate AF's arrival too! We re going to be in France when my AF should be due (the first one when I will be TTC properly) and if it dares to arrive I will make sure that I follow your lead and gorge on pate, cheese and lots of wine! Hope going back to work is ok, it's always a drag after a holiday isn't it? Good luck convincing your DH for a holiday in Sept too, that would be lovely!

Well done womanly on booking another holiday before you've even been on your first- you are a girl after my own heart! Glad you have a nice GP and that you are getting a list of Q's together- I know that I would just forget everything I wanted to say so a list is very sensible! Where are you going on your holiday by the way?

luckylanky where is your private screening?! I'd love to be getting glammed up in a cocktail dress this eve but I am currently sat in my ikea rocking chair with my PJ's on- rock and roll! I am living in HK at the minute- DH and I moved out here in August on a two year teaching contract. I can't believe that a year is almost up! Love that you use an actimel bottle!

bella I am still searching for a leak proof container! If I was in the UK I would pop into my beloved Boots and buy one of the wee sample pots but am not Glad you had a lovely break- it sounds very relaxing! So, has it sunk in yet?!! EEEKKK did you tell your mum when you were away with her?

mrsW EXCITED!!!! I am actually a little bit sad that you won't be able to come on here and tell us when you get your first peak! That will be such an exciting day! I remember how excited I was when fertility friend said I had ovulated for the first time! How often does the CBFM ask you to POAS? is it just when it feels like it or is it every certain number of days? Have a lovely, lovely time! You and your man deserve a relaxing time after all of the hassle you've had this year. did his wrists heal ok by the way?!

Hi cavemum How long was your AF before you were on the pill? Do you remember? fingers crossed for a longer cycle this time. You are being very good with your temp taking. Am impressed! My temps have been a bit erratic this month too for no reason- I should be ovulating soon so it's getting to the exciting stage of the month in terms of temp taking! What a geek I am!

Sorry about the witch arriving aries and kkas looking on the brightside... you are still cycle buddies and you will can get your BFP's together!

Hi to all that I've missed, (this was meant to be a quick pop in!),especially evil (hope your tucked up in bed with horrid period pains as I write this! ;) ) and kurly and claire If you're lurking.

Bring on more BFPs!

xxx

SarahAvon · 08/06/2010 13:37

what does basal mean anyway?

I think if I don't get pregnant this month I may well find my inner charting geek!

Felicity to be honest I can't really remember, it was almost 15 years ago! I do remember that I used to see some blood about every 2 weeks, but as it coincided with my fortnightly riding lessons it may have been connected with that

AF is due any minute, I've been having the usual cramps since getting up this morning, though she hasn't put in an appearance yet. But hey, this cycle is still going to be a day or two longer than the last one and that will have to do for now!

Fertility Friend didn't detect ov this month, but I think it was about day 11, which was 2 days later than the first cycle which was definitely day 9! If my cycles can settle around the mid-20s in length I'll be happy.

SarahAvon basal body temp is your waking temperature. Bascially any activity can increase your temperature and give a false reading, so if you take your temp in the morning as soon as you wake up it will be more accurate.
A bit like taking your pulse after jogging round the block will give you a false reading.

This might help explain a bit more: www.fertilityfriend.com/videos.html

superpenguin · 08/06/2010 15:01

Hello ladies! I want to join!

Just got married in May and now TTC for the first time.
Actually I wanted to try right away on honeymoon but DH insisted we wait until we got home so we could get drunk I mean relax and enjoy our holiday without worrying about that!
But now we are home and SWI!

My cycles are around 29 days and I'm now on day 9 today.
Hoping we can SWI every day for next 2 weeks and should do the trick perhaps!

felicityFlick · 08/06/2010 15:25

Congratulations on your recent wedding superpenguin and a fun name too! Everyone is so lovely here, I'm sure you'll fit in really well Good luck with the SWI ;) Two posts from me in a day- like teh good old days ;)

cavemum, those must have been some vigorous horse riding lessons !! I can't really remember how long my AF's used to be, I think I remember my cycles being on the long side so I think they have settled back to how they were (32-33 days)

See you all tomorrow

cherrycobbler · 08/06/2010 16:41

Flick thankfully no AF/pool surprises (eeeewwwww)!! Not long now till you start the TTC madness - very exciting!!

welcome superpenguin and sarah and almost (and welcome back lipstie)

I am working from home today but so far have managed to avidly read Twilight instead. Guilty pleasure but I got hooked about two chapters in...I obviously have a 17 year old's taste in books (despite not having 17 year old's super fertility). Boo - and means will be up late doing the work I need to do today and twill be my own fault. Sigh. Is it wrong to have a crush on an imaginary, 17- year-old-but-immortal, vampire?

haloflo · 08/06/2010 17:47

mrswajs Have a brilliant time on holiday, am v jealous after the rainy rubbish day we've had today. I hope you got everything sorted and packed ok. By the way I got my high two days before the peak so once you get the high there's no time to lose! (Not that you'll need encouraging I'm sure!)

lanky I am indeed on the 2ww (ssh I'm not supposed to be counting days) Am about 9/10 dpo & AF is due Saturday/Sunday. How's your 2ww going? I bet you are glad to have your holiday as a nice distraction. Has your GP said there is a reason for your cramping or are you waiting on the test results before they will tell you what it might mean? I feel nauseas from about 7dpo every month & I was wondering if I should visit my GP to find out if this is normal? I know cramps are different but I wondered if you had got any answers. Hope you enjoy SATC tonight, I used to love the TV show although was less keen on the first film.

cherry Of course everyone needs a pineapple corer and a gadget that removes the stone from cherries and olives! Only joking we didn't buy any of that stuff, we were quite restrained. I have read all of the twilight books as I too got sucked in. There is nothing wrong with fancying a 17 immortal vampire. I prefer Jacob though who features more in the second book. I think he's supposed to be 16.

felicity Thank you for your kind words and don't get nervous about starting to TTC. Even if it doesn't happen super fast all your preparation will mean that you understand your body and know you have done all you can. And when you do start we'll all be here to help you through your 3ww and symptom spot with you

In case mrswaj doesn't get chance to answer your query about the CBFM I will hjack the question and try to answer it (I hope you don't mind mrswaj.) As far as I understand during the first cycle it will ask for the first stick on day 6 & then one every day until you reach a peak day. It will then ask for the next 2 days but they are always show a second peak day and a final high day whether you POAS of not. lucky told me not to bother using sticks for those days and nothing bad happens if you don't, just you save money. You then pop it in the drawer until AF arrives only turning it on to check your CD. If you start another next cycle it might ask for the first stick on a later CD depending on how early you ovulated last time. After a few cycles it knows when you need to test and hopefully you will need less sticks but it will always be every day until you get a peak. I hope that made sense.

Welcome superpengiun Congratulations on your wedding! Where did you go on honeymoon? I think SWI every day for 2 weeks will defiantly give you a really good chance! Good luck with it!

Day 26 for me & I don't think it's going to be my month. AF is due Sat/Sun and my boobs still look and feel normal. When I was pg they were really full and tender and also my nipples looked huge. I can't remember if that was before or after my BFP though so I guess there is still a chance.

Ariesgirl · 08/06/2010 18:06

Have a lovely holiday MrsW. Am very !

Get to it Flick and good luck.

womanlytales · 08/06/2010 18:10

halo Always a chance so hang in there - - and I echo felicity's comments entirely about your attitude being inspirational
Felicity Crete - that's where we're going - last year we went to Naxos...so Greece is turning into a yearly retreat for DH and me.

Ladies - I got a note just now about a colleague going into the hospital because she's got contractions -- am thrilled and a bit nervous for her (baby in breech, planned C section was on June 14)... what this news did was just cave my internal dam...and I can't stop feeling this INTENSE desire to be pregnant and start a family. So much so that if I didn't share it here with you, I feel I'd just go get depressed because I am not currently pregnant or have a family...thus discounting all the good work and energy that's gone into this little project all this year.
When will it be my turn????? [Asks rhetorical question and pauses as if only she can hear the answers when they come from that mysterious world that responds to rhetorical qs!!!! Then sighs dramatically and turns back to her audience...or in this case her buddy-frolickers...]
LOL - on that note, have a good one.
MrsWajs Will miss you on your holiday so have a fabulous one and fingers crossed for the cbfm working.

Hermya321 · 08/06/2010 18:20

Hello everybody,

Just thought I would pop over and let you know about my twenty week scan. It went really well and they also managed to find out the sex as well.

It's a little boy!!

Welcome to all the newbies over here, this is a lovely thread!!

cherrycobbler · 08/06/2010 18:22

womanly - re the feeling - me bloody too. Can't tell you when it will be your turn, but the odds really are that it WILL BE YOUR TURN SOON. Hang in there.

Halo it still could be, it still could be. Sorry to hear you are not your usual sunny self, sending a family size pack of biscuits, some champagne cocktails and a boxset of the Twilight movies your way. And I can see the Jacob thing. He may be 16 but he is over six foot, which kind of makes it totally fine. Hum.

Just bit all my fingernails off in the final chapters of Twilight, polished off a family bag of M&M's without noticing and now realise I will have to get started with my day's work at six bleedy o'clock in the evening. Harrumph.

cherrycobbler · 08/06/2010 18:24

hermya - oooh very exciting!!! And a little boy!! Must seem v real when you know the sex Hope final few months go swimmingly....

haloflo · 08/06/2010 19:57

womanly I echo what Cherry said. I hope you are ok.

Cherry Thanks for the treats! I don't think I am most in need of them but if you are offering then who I am to refuse?! Anyone else? Champagne cocktails and biscuits for all! I hope you don't have to work too late.

Hermya321 Thanks great news! I'm very pleased to hear all is going well. I want a little boy. I mean I want a healthy baby but i'd just love a little boy.

SaorAlba · 08/06/2010 21:46

Hermya Yours is the first bfp I saw on here when I joined up, so it's quite amazing to hear you're at 20 weeks. It's probably even more amazing for you!

Haven't really been keeping up all that well with what's going on in this thread. DP seems very disinclined to SWI. Said to him that it might be a good idea to have sex in the next couple of days and his reply was "you're not going to get pg this month anyway as it's the first month off the pill". As you can imagine, my response was "Well I'm sure as hell not going to get pg if we never have sex".

So now I'm in a huff in the computer cupboard under the stairs and he's playing his game on the xbox. Maybe I'll need to feed him oysters or something one week a month in order to get some action.

Hiya to all the newbies, and I hope those of you going on holiday have a good time.

Good luck to all those on the 2ww!

CaveMum · 09/06/2010 07:12

Morning all!

hermya I remember your BFP as one of the first on this thread after I joined. How exciting! You'll have to let us know your name short-list [nosey emotcion]!

womanly I'm with you too! My work colleague had her little girl last week and yesterday she emailed some photos to the office. She's gorgeous! She said she wil bring Chloe to the office to meet everyone in the next few weeks and I'm slightly nervous that I may reduce to a gibbering wreck in front of everyone! One other work colleague knows we are planning on TTC, she's like a second mum, so I only hope she will help deflect attention from me! I know that others will start on the "You'll be next" nonsense as I'm the only other lady of 'child baring age' in the building. I shall have to resist the temptation to shriek "I am trying" at them!

womanlytales · 09/06/2010 12:50

Afternoon all,
My colleague had a baby boy and all is well with her and everybody else Happy for them.
hermya congrats on learning you're going to have a boy - yeah I think it's wonderful how you hover about this thread - very sweet
soaralba Hope the oysters work and you and DP are up for the SWIathon.
Cavemum I am sure you'll be totally OK - and if folks to start the 'you'll be next' stuff, hope you can deflect them away easily.
I have reached a point where I don't want to talk about ttc with anyone including DH - - it's like I've done all the sharing I need to and there's no more left to talk about.
Saw my specialist today - came out of the meeting wondering why I bothered to go.
In a dark, grey place -- but not for long - I hope to continue SWI till AF arrives and then after that

superpenguin · 09/06/2010 14:31

ok I give up...
what does AF stand for?

I'm gathering it's something to do with time of month but can't work out the initials!

superpenguin · 09/06/2010 14:51

So, a friend of mine is very pregnant right now and must be due really soon, in the next few weeks I think. I'm really excited for her! They have been trying for a few years I think so really pleased it finally happened for them. They know they are having a girl.
Hope it doesn't take us as long!
I guess cos we are only just starting to TTC I haven't find myself getting jealous of other people's pregancies at all, just really excited at more babies! Perhaps the will come later if it takes us a long while.

Meanwhile, so far so good on the SWI plan!
Going out tonight though and DH is never up for it after he's been drinking so we'll see how that goes! Might have to jump on him when I get home from work before we go out!
I have sort of given up alcohol at the moment and will be driving tonight so that's my excuse to other people as to why I'm not drinking. I'll start on the wine again when my period comes (assuming I don't get pg this month) and stop again at fertile time next month. Oh that reminds me I forgot to take my folic acid this morning. Are other people stopping drinking / taking vitamins etc whilst TTC or waiting until you get a BFP before going all healthy?
Not that I am particularly healthy lol. Am slightly overweight and do almost no exercise but hey you can't have everything. I do miss my evening glass of wine though...
just read that back and makes me sound like an alcoholic! I don't drink that much really!

Sorry for the long rambling post!

Kaloki · 09/06/2010 15:12

superpenguin it stands for Aunt Flo. Bit naff, but it appears to have stuck.

I never really drink much anyway to be honest, so have made no difference there. I have no other pregnancy affecting vices, however I am on a cocktail of drugs for back pain and depression which aren't ideal for pregnancy. But I'm just going to have to risk it. Don't want to make TTC any more stressful than it is already.

CaveMum · 09/06/2010 15:20

superpenguin (great name by the way!) AF stands for "Auntie Flo", it's code for your period as in "I can't go swimming this weekend, Auntie Flo is visiting"

This page might help you with other acronyms: www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

As far as healthy things go I have been taking Folic Acid for the last 3 months - they say you should take it before trying to conceive as it takes time to get into your system.
I've cut back on drinking, not that I ever drank much to begin with. To be honest I got fed up of feeling rough of a Saturday/Sunday morning and cutting out a bottle of wine from the weekly shop has improved our spending habits!

I will have a drink every now and then but I actually think I have lost my taste for alcohol.

There have been many discussions about drinking whilst ttc and early in pregnancy. The general consenus is that as long as you are sensible you shold be fine. There is also a school of thought that says as it takes several weeks for a placenta to form the embryo will not absorb anything from you for this time period.

Happy SWI-ing!

Kaloki · 09/06/2010 15:24

beat you to it!
