A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

flo, I don't feel better today! I don't remember ever having a two day hangover before This must be what happens when you get older! It sucks- glad all is still well your end. Burying your head in the sand is a good tactic

Hi pinkie! Glad you're back

Love both the dresses beautifulbridestobe I do love a good wedding.

In news from me, fertility friend says I ovulated on day 14 again this month. Now on day 17 so the countdown to ttc is on. So excited My CBFM is ready and waiting for me, although I don't think I actually NEED it as my cycle is pretty regular now and I know which days I should SWI on but that is just so typical of impatient me.

Hope everyone is ok today. Will check in later on from my vegetative state on the sofa.

Lots of love

CaveMum · 14/06/2010 08:29

Morning haloflo, quiet round here ain't it!

Keeping fingers crossed that you'll have good news soon. Don't feel pressurised into testing, do it when you feel ready.

I have to say I have no idea what is going on with my body and hormones! As I said ERTD showed up just before my exam and guess what - she went away again! No signs AT ALL yesterday, though I have cramps again this morning. I'm now not sure if that really was ERTD or just my body mocking me! If it was , cycle 2 was 22 days, if not then I'm still counting and on 25 days so far! Who knows!

I've decided that the captain of my brain ship is asleep at the wheel! He's been so reliant on the pill artificially regulating my hormones that he doesn't know what to do!

Anyway, I think the exam went well. I didn't forget anything and the examiner didn't ask me to redo anything, so that's a good sign. My teacher is away fir 2 weeks now so hopefully my results will be available when she gets back.

Don't forget ladies that it is Royal Ascot this week, so if you get the chance make sure you plonk yourself down in front of the BBC Tuesday-Saturday! Is anyone going this year? My boss goes every year for the whole week so muggins has to man the office. It's not all bad, we put the tv on and take it in turns to buy cakes to eat whilst watching the big race each day!

Happy Monday everyone!

CaveMum · 14/06/2010 08:31

X-posts with felicity Morning! [waves]

Hope the hangover eases soon. Very exciting that you are in the final countdown - just make sure you lot don't go leaving me here by myself!

Muser · 14/06/2010 08:40

Morning all. Nothing to report here. I'm lacking any good symptoms. Fingers crossed for everyone else in the 2ww.

superpenguin · 14/06/2010 10:27

well what a busy weekend everyone is having.

loving the new terminology, thanks Aries for suggesting!

in non-TTC news, what a disappointment on saturday night eh?

and back to TTC, even in my first month I have not managed to keep up with my plan of SWI every day for the 2 weeks from days 7 to 21, lol, was probably a bit ambitious from the start! am doing pretty well though, only missed 1 day so far! poor DH is worn out!

and yes there are babies everywhere. found out yesterday a woman in my village is expecting twins!

superpenguin · 14/06/2010 10:28

ooh i think i got one day out on the list somehow, am on CD15 today (mon)

felicityFlick · 14/06/2010 10:49

Morning cave, I will not be leaving you anywhere on your own, don't you worry! How strange about your body playing tricks on you?? The good thing is that it has got a chance to get back to normal before you get cracking with the ttc in September.

I'm impressed superpenguin- only 6 more days to go

almostknockedupgirl · 14/06/2010 11:20

Morning all!

Not sure why I'm so chirpy on a Monday morning - must have something to do with all the practice shagging I've been up to over the weekend.

And I'm super-impressed by your effort superpenguin! My DH and I are planning to attempt a similar feat this month, so hang on in there!

Ooh haloflo! I've got everything crossed for you! (Except my legs...)

Good luck with the exam results CaveMum! I used to dance, once upon a time. Really should get off my lazy arse and get back into it.

Eurgh FelicityFlick. I've started experiencing the 2 day hangovers lately. Horrific beasts they are too. Hope yours clears off pronto!

Kaloki good luck with your doctor's appt on Weds! And you're making that dress? Wow! Major talent.

Lots of lucky vibes to everyone in the 2ww. Here's hoping the ERTD (much better, thank Aries!) stays well away!

womanlytales · 14/06/2010 12:08

Hi everyone,
Looked at our stats and seems like Jan was the best month with 8 bfps. Other months though has been also pretty awesome with a BFP almost every week of the month. Good luck to all those feeling the symptoms. Hope ERTD stays away for you.

CaveMum · 14/06/2010 12:19

Hi all, me again.

Feeling very glum. Just had a call from DH who says he?s been told this morning that the powers that be want him to go to Afghanistan in February 2011. It is not 100% definite at this stage, but the fact they have told him means it is highly likely. This really screws our plans up. At the very best it looks as though ttc will have to wait until December at the very earliest. As I?ve said before I don?t think I can face the prospect of giving birth without DH by my side.

Will pop back later when I?ve had the chance to think a bit more

felicityFlick · 14/06/2010 13:04

Sorry to hear that cavemum I hope once the news has sunk in a bit that a solution will appear that makes it all seem a bit brighter. I know how frustrating it is to have to wait because thats what I had to do. If it is any consolation (it's probably not!) the extra four months I have waited have been really useful in getting to know my cycle and getting myself all prepared. xxx

Kaloki · 14/06/2010 14:57

haloflo It's partly for lack of ERTD, and partly to talk about my back. I've got some old sheets that I'll be using to mock up the dress first, then I'll order the fabric I want.

cavemum So sorry to hear that! Hopefully though things will work out for the best.

In other news, I've got my MRI scan next Wednesday, so hopefully I'm a step closer to getting my health back.

PinkiePoo · 14/06/2010 18:58

haloflo thanks for the welcome back..unfortunately due to my history of long cycles...one before last was 2 months i am not going to POAS. I don't feel pregnant..at all. So....i am putting this down as another loong god damn cycle.

Stats: TTC 1 Cycle 4 UCL 28-64 cd 39

Hope all is well......shocking weather down these parts. Cold and wet!! >

Sorry to hear your plans maybe on hold...but the right solution will become clear pretty soon x x

Bellaby · 14/06/2010 19:33

Evening All

Had a busy weekend so didn't get to pop in to say hello in the end. Played tennis both Sat and Sun and then DH took me out for lunch yesterday to celebrate my birthday . He is also going to be getting me an iPad which I am so excited about although sounds like I'll have to wait about 4 weeks for deliver

Unfortuntely today am feeling a bit under the weather so will be celebrating with an early night and hot lemsip! Not sure if that is just my body reacting to everything that has happened and trying to tell me to slow down or something completely unrelated.

Almostknockedupgirl (or AKG for short) - good luck as you embark on your first cycle.

Felicity -well done on finishing all your marking/ reports. What a relief. Well done on your weight loss as well - that's very impressive. Other than my tennis at weekends I've been meaning to get back into an exercise routine for ages - might have started this morning if I wasn't feeling under the weather (then again maybe not !). Sorry you didn't manage to watch England on Saturday - having watched the game I would much rather have been drinking lashings of free mohitos! I thought they played better than they have for a while but it certainly didn't convince me they are capable of winning the tournament. Hope the hangover is finally easing.

Haloflo - fingers crossed for you this month xxxx x x xxxx (thats all my fingers and my thumbs)

Cloaky - I hope that the assessment comes back in your favour. Not examining your back sounds very strange indeed. Hope that the MRI scan goes well x

pinkie -good to hear from you

Aries - I also really like ERTD. You should get a medal for that one

Cavemum - sorry to hear about your DH's possible posting at the start of next year . Hope that sorts itself out.
What are your tips for this week - I have lost far too much betting on the football already this week so I need some good idea here

Superpenguin -we should change your name too to SuperSWIer

Hello Lanky and Hello to anyone else I've not mentioned

Claire - hope we hear from you soon. You are greatly missed x

DH has been planning a holiday for us - we are going to go to Indonesia in a month's time. Getting very excited about it

Looks like this thread is coming to an end. We need to try and get some new recruits on board for the next one again.

Hope everyone has a lovely week

Bellaby
xxx

evilgiraffe · 14/06/2010 19:59

Day 136 and still no change, just dropping in to reassure you all I've not fallen off the face of the earth! I am becoming resigned to the fact that nothing is happening any time soon - and probably not before this thread is full.

Ah well. In happier news, I went to the Download festival yesterday and it was brilliant, I have popped my music festival cherry with a really really good one I have been humming Aerosmith songs to myself all day...

alien82 · 14/06/2010 20:07

Hey everyone,
new to this website, where can I find all the lingo translations!? getting confused

I am having my coil removed this week and will be trying for our first baby, so scared, excited and nervous at the same time!!

xx

haloflo · 14/06/2010 21:10

Sorry for the me me me post but I no longer think it's my month. Nipples are going back to normal (they were dark and fat - same as the month I was pg) & I am spotting. The evil red tide of doom is imminent I'm sure, I feel mad and sad all at the same time. Just wanted to let u all know after I got everyones hopes up.

almostknockedupgirl · 14/06/2010 21:11

Jealous much, evilgiraffe! alien82 (hi! fancy meeting you here ), you can find the acronyms here

almostknockedupgirl · 14/06/2010 21:13

Oh haloflo. Bollocks.

alien82 · 14/06/2010 21:17

thanks, almostknockedupgirl
Yep freaky seeing you here! hopefully I can become one of the regulars on here as need some people to "talk" to and help me through this whole time as don't have many friends due to moving loads x

Kaloki · 14/06/2010 21:46

alien82 There is one acronym that we use that isn't on that list.

ERTD - evil red tide of doom. Known as AF (Aunt Flo) on the rest of the conception board as far as I know.

alien82 · 14/06/2010 21:54

ah thanks Kaloki Hopefully I will get into the swing of using the lingo x

felicityFlick · 15/06/2010 04:04

Morning all,

I still feel crap! I am wondering if I am actually ill or if this is now a three day hangover?!! Surely it can't be?! We have a public holiday here tomorrow so hanging on in for that.

Sorry to hear that you don't think it's your month flo Do you normally have spotting before ERTD? Am still sending the vibes your way.

Hi bella, good to see you back! Sounds like you had a very energetic weekend with all your tennis. Hope you had a lovely birthday- what a treat getting an Ipad! I don't know anyone who has one of those and your holiday too! How exciting! Where in Indonesia are you going? I've not been but would love to and hope I get the chance whilst I'm living on this side of the world.

Welcome alien we are due some more BFPs over here so hopefully you can help us get the ball rolling, although we are expecting some ladies back off their holidays soon so perhaps there will have been some holiday conceptions to start us off on our new thread Do you want us to add you to the list?

Hi pinkie, I'll pop you back on the list in a mo Was it you I remember talking about taking aries's friend Agnes cactus ;)?! I can't remember who was involved in that conversation but it's meant to really help regulate cycles and I've been taking it since Feb and I'm all back to normal. I know it might be a placebo effect but it certainly made me feel better and hasn't done me any harm that I can see

Glad you popped back in evil, Download sounds amazing! I was sad to miss the Isle of Wight festival this year which was on the same weekend. We have been to last four or five and it's been a bit of a tradition.

Good luck at docs tomorrow kaloki

Hope everyone is well, only 4 more sleeps until the weekend

CaveMum · 15/06/2010 08:37

Morning all, not really ready to talk about yesterday's problem so will focus on positive things - Royal Ascot for a start!

I promised Bellaby I'd put up my selections for the day. There is some fantastic racing on offer today, first race @ 2.30 so please do watch on BBC if you can!

2.30 Goldikova - will be a short price favourite but on her best form I can't see her being beat.

3.05 Kingsgate Native - very good sprinter, should go well. Possible threat from Aussie horse Nicconi.

3.50 Makfi and Nobles Promise - Makfi won the English 2,000 Guineas in May and horses he beat have come out and won at the top level. Nobles Promise has travelled from the USA for this race so is of much interest.

4.25 Amwell Pinot - won on his only start to date , VERY well bred and should go well at a big price. Best backed each way.

5.00 Dayia - I won on her a few times in the past, so I'm not deserting her now!

5.35 - Style and Panache and Marine Commando. A tough race, but if I had to gave a bet it would be a toss up between these two!

I can't promise they will win or even run well, but I will be having a bet on most of these!

Good luck all!
